  • STOP THE NWO

  • 13 people tried to knock a battery off of Robert Conrad's shoulder.

  • I had a big crush on that one dark haired nurse ! Who was she ?

  • DON'T FUCK UP MY PLANE, COLLEGE BOY!

  • yeah the corsair took many a punch and still turned round to kick ass.... that was a heavy fast mean machine.... saw a docu bout the black sheep recently.... deepest respect....

  • Because of this show, I became a pilot

  • Im a Former Tomcat Pilot,I got to fly a F6F Hellcat,loved it,a little heavy in the turn,but what a ride!!!

  • @nightfrog205 Tom Cat Pilot!! I`m a former kid! I got to fly one around the office pool at El Chapperal Apartments when I was ten. My wing man was a chubby guy named Wendell in a P-40...

  • @nightfrog205

... your a lucky lucky man, whos f6f was it ? Rarer even than the f4u today ~

  • This show is why the corsair is my fav. of all world war II aircraft.Fallowed by the p40,love that shark mouth.

  • Man I miss this show

  • That isn't hoss it's his son Dirk

  • hoss went from the ponderosa an took to the skies.

  • Ole bad-ass Conrad !!

  • omg memories!! los tigres voladoressssss!!!

  • ORALE!!!! MUY INTERESANTE, EN UNA OCACION UN AMIGO ME COMENTO DE LOS RASGOS DE ESTE SEÑOR QUE ERA ORIENTALON., ¡SALUDOS!

  • A TODOS LOS AMIGOS DEL "AIRCRAFT"., COMO LOVIDAR A LOS TIGRES VOLADORES......... HAAAAA Y "EL PAPPY BOYINGTON" (QUE TIEMPOS)

  • @wazon206...

  • awww what a pilots they are osm....

  • Yes, I enjoyed this show greatly as well, The corsair I thought was one of the best US fighters of the era as well. Please be reminded those who are hating, hate is what Hitler used to start the war. Hitler started it Hitler lost it not, German tech was way ahead. The Germans started making the bomb before us. They had jets before us. And so one. What we had his vast production power and a desire to not be put down. Hate fear cause war.

  • Imagine a German V-3 burst over New York? What the hell? Keep imagining jackass; I prefer the actual photos and movies of bombs raining down on Hannover!Your superior German aircraft had there chance 70 years ago and you lost. Did you get that? YOU FUCKING LOST. I'll take my chances in a Mustang or Spitfire any day.

  • We used to call this show "Baa-Baa Bullshit", but we'd still watch it. The Corsairs were the reason for this programs success.

  • Imagine an german V-3 had burst over New York...

Think about: the Saturn 5 was a larger V-2.

  • It's a good thing we clobbered Japan in WWII. Can you imagine if we had lost to them? If we had lost to them, America would be overrun with Japanese-made televisions, radios, cameras, VCRs, DVD players, cars, we would even have Japanese players in MLB.

    Wait a minute...

  • We are poor little lambs

    Who have lost our way

    Baa, baa, baa.

  • This shit got my aderenaline pumping!

  • The american P-51s had cried about an ME-163 hunting them! If we had enought of the Düsenjäger they had cleaned the air above of germany, the english comet and the amerikan thunderjet were alway sitting ducks against the ME 262

  • @maiktheboener

    You're dreaming.

The job of a fighter is to take down bombers or defend them.

The 163 was dangerous and several blew up on the ground.

They were too fast to attack the B-17's and they had a poor kill-to-loss ratio.

The 262 was better but it was by no means invincible.

Too little, too late at any rate.

The Thunderjet did not even fly till after you had surrendered(1946).

    Move on.

  • Fuck the corsair gime an FW-190!

Or hunt the Bombers with an ME-262 Fighter!

    Fuck the Amerikan Technical Thiefs!!!!

  • I really like these show. I wish they would put it back on TV like they are doing other older shows.

  • The sirene are awesome with the song

  • One Corsair shot down a MiG jet in Korea!

On 10 September 1952, a MiG-15 made the mistake of getting into a turning contest with a Corsair piloted by Captain Jesse G. Folmar, with Folmar shooting the MiG down with his four 20 millimetre (0.79 in) cannons.[55] The MiG's wingmen quickly had their revenge, shooting down Folmar, though he bailed out and was swiftly rescued with little injury.

  • it wasn't a bad show made a few good stories but the real pilots ofVMF-214 didn't really care for it cause it made them look like the bums and misfits they weren't they were just pilots waiting to get assigned to a regular squadron. One of the sheep went on in Korea to become an ace in his 2nd war and in case ur wondering he flew as an exchange pilot with the USAF. o yeah he got 6 migs

  • This brings back all fond memories of my father. God bless this show.....my father and all who have ever fought for this country!

  • I remember this show clearly. It and CPO Sharkey was promoted heavily, by NBC. Unfortunately, they didn't last long.

  • The Vaught F-4U Corsair probably one of the greatest planes to come out of WWII

  • Cpl. E.L. FARAM VMF(AW) 451..Huraaaa.

  • That show kicked ass!

  • Made me want to join the Air Force (YES, I know 214 was a Marine squadron), so I did...flew and loved it!

  • Like the Intro.

  • When TV was worth watching, shit on the tube anymore. Give me some Baa Baa Black Sheep, some Hogans Hero's, and some Barney Miller, i'm good to go.

  • Comment removed

  • I never missed an episode when this show was on , I am surprized it's not out in DVD's yet.

  • @Sundancetr4

Oh it s out on DVD in English. Just check Amazon. Badly in German there is only the first 12 Episodes out.

  • this show killed when it was on...me and my pops front and centerof the TV when this was on.. i member that one Jap ace would say "Hey Boyington' that guy was great...lol my fave episode was when those two BADASS P38 Lightnings helped splash some ZEROS in the sea

  • @gdub454

Great show even if it was mostly made-up Hollywood stuff. The one with that Japanese ace was one of my favorites when I was a kid. Had to look it up, that episode was "The Devil in the Slot," and that (fictional) ace was Tomio "Tommy" Harachi, who appeared in a few episodes of the show!

  • @gdub454 And Pappy called him Riceball!

  • @MervynCruddy LOL..O YEA..thats right cool

  • The F4AU Corsairs had an engine that came from Connecticut

  • I loved this show when it aired years ago. Love Robert Conrad. One of my favorite actors. Adored him in the Wild Wild West. Rarely missed an episode. Rarely!!

He has always been such a cool guy. So good looking as well.

  • Happy B-Day to USMC 235 years ass kicking and taking names! OORAH!

In memory of my Dad gy/sgt W.Saunders retired USMC

  • I used to watch this show every week when I was a kid!! Loved it!!

  • anyone know when season 3 is coming out?

  • Great show but with a rather stupid name.

  • this show is awesome.

  • because this tv show, years later i got the combat flight simulator 2, i love this airplanes, corsair and zero are wonderful machines.

  • This was my favorite show when I was a child......

  • F4u1 Corsair.. 'nuff said.. :)

  • Whow... Remebering my Time as a Child ... This was the Show I got mad in WW2 and the F4U Corsair!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have in BLUE RAY

  • Corsairs Were Beautiful and Kicked Ass!

  • I can't beleive somebody tag this here!! I was a little girl and I watched this with my father! nice memories... :)

  • oh annd just for the record i couldnt care less about the japanese in fact i think we ought to bomb them now, in 2010, but not indiscriminantly, not civilians,

we should nuke them for being pain in the ass whalers and being general douchebags about the whole thing

  • Notice, no crackheads in the whole mix. Hmmm, could be a reason why we won WWII.

  • Shows like this, Knight Rider and Star Trek make it impossible for me to hate America ;-/

  • The p 51 was Junk compared to Corsair! The Corsair took hits!

  • damn I miss this show!

  • I've been looking for a way to see some of these episodes. Robert Conrad was so handsome!

  • a man called sloan oh yeah !

  • my uncle was in the black sheep squadron

  • As a guy, I loved the dogfights and Denise DuBerry as one of the nurses!

  • The Corsair did carry rockets, as well as napalm and conventional bombs. They did lots of close air support along with flaming zekes, oscars, vals, bettys, pretty much anything with red balls painted on the wings and waist.

  • That is a real alarm clock !

  • Man, I LOVED this program! I couldn't get enough of the dogfights! Anyone know if it's on DVD?

  • Did this show ever get put onto DVD ? I remember it being on NBC every Thursday at 8 pm.

  • Didn't SId from "Ice Age" sing that song?

  • Never thought the F-4U was pretty. Always thought it looked like rather ungainly. But it was a one heck of an F/A. I always wonder why it did not get more use in Europe. Big heavy plane like that would have made for a great rocket firing ground attack plane. Perhaps the gull wings prevented that.

Never realized John Larroquette played one of the members of the squadron. Not the best casting as there would be no way someone of his height could have even fit in the cockpit of a WW2 fighter.

  • @Mrblancnoir The Brits made limited use of it in the Atlantic. Saw lots of service in Korea (Ed MacMahon was a Marine who was instructor in WW II, and flew it in combat in Korea).

  • @Mrblancnoir You're right, JL wouldn't fit. Corsairs were designed as Carrier based fighters though. I don't think you'd get a Carrier across Europe very easily!

Of course the Corsair ended up being used largely from land bases, but there weren't enough being built to spare extras to the European theater.

  • Awesome show.

  • I remeber sitting on my dad's lap in his orange crushed velvet recliner watching this.

I dare you to knock this battery off my shoulder.

  • Rob would have been a awsome Capt.America actor. I don't what the specs where as far as height? He was like 5'9''. I the the cap is supposed to be 6' + , but man, he had it in him. Would have been great, I think.............

  • Yep i grew up with this mom would get so mad because id sneek into the living room and whatch it, thats the show that made me whant to be in the military, later after being a nco i can understand the mechanic damn colledge boys!!! lol!!! nothing wrong with that!!

  • such an awesome show!

  • don't ya just love the elegance of the corsair?

  • @danagal79 fuck all this new age jet planes. give me a good ol' corsair. such a goddamn preatty plane :3

  • @tigresssharplesl Does that mean the F-86 too? A vintage plane as well, but a jet.

  • Boyington himself referred to the series as "...inaccuracies, hogwash, and Hollywood hokum."

  • @Bluerisk

Boyington himself was listed as a "consultant" to give it an air of respectability, also

  • ...and most likely most of his contributions were utterly ignored. Wouldn't be the first time.

  • It used to be on the History Channel...

  • This is the best show on 10.2.

  • You can tell this was produced at the same time as CHiPS ...Same intro same music..lol

  • I believe that the start switch button on the Corsair was a"shotgun" shell casing.

  • @xxchinookxx Yes, the first gen. Corsairs did use a shotgun shell starting divise. But soon after they were all converted to electric starters and stayed like that till the end of the production of this amazing fighting machine.

  • My favorite show of the '80's. I remember it well.

  • Obviously you didn't remember it that well as its a 70's show. LOL!

  • Long live the corsair and long live the black sheep.

I LOVED this show i wish they would put the shows on a network somewhere.

  • I had an orgasm watching this show

  • Loved the show...remember it well...

  • great cast, most of them did stints on magnum pi

  • My favorite TV show from the 80's while growing up in trinidad!!!!!!!

  • Pappy Boyington is buried in section 7A of Arlington National Cemetery

  • This show was good- and then it went downhill- they had a friggin 16 yr pilot w/ long 70s hair as a pilot- sellout and desparate.

  • Random use of the Whiffenpoof Song for the win.

  • Peter Frampton played an Australian coastwatcher.

  • One episode had an appearance by peter frampton the musician anyone know wich episode that was?

  • I researched Major Greg "Pappy" Boyington for a school project, I wonder if his character is accurate here.

  • It wasn't. Check Wikipedia. Good show though.

  • dont count on it. it would be awesome to have a school project on him tho

  • What happened to shows like this?

Oh yeah, they instill pride. Can't have that.

    Screw the leftist, apologist pinkos!

  • Actually, the surviving members of the actual squadron had mixed feelings about this show and its portrayal of them.

I loved it though; watched it religiously in High School when I was an NJROTC cadet, way back when.

  • i love this show when i was little id curl on my grandfathers lap and watch it and i still watch it to this day

  • One thing that can be said...it's good to work for Don Belisario!! ALL of these characters have been back in other series of his.

  • Of course mostly japanese were killed in the show. What, are you some kind of commie?

During the war the kill ratio was something like 12-1, however 80% of the kills were by pilots flying the rugged F6F Hellcat.

  • I loved this show as a kid, i could'nt get enough of those beautiful corsairs

  • @cott10r It was like the greatest show ever!

  • @cott10r are you not shy of this show?it looks like icky!! hahahahaha

  • @cott10r If you have a channel called Rtv (retro television) it it usually on each sunday evening at 6 pm

  • @satbrules and Saturday at 6.

  • do any of you know why Gutterman , T.J and Anderson left the show and were they written out in form of transfer or killed off ?

  • it was a goos show, just not very real. most of this stuff did not happen in the war.

  • this was a great show...of course very seldom did someone die....except for japanese

  • RIP Robert Ginty, Lt. T.J. Wiley....

  • Yes, Ginty was a great actor, he made some brilliant B-series and Z-series movies, and he's missed.

  • Why is Gutterman (James Whitmore Jr) in this ep? I thought he was only in season one when it was called Baa Baa Black Sheep!

  • The theme is sort of like the A-Team, and so is the concept. Ain't that right, Mr Cannell ;)

  • Phenomenal Pappy !

  • A mi papa le gustaba mucho esta serie, yo tenia alrededor de 8 años, estoy seguro de que desde el cielo la sigue viendo.

  • For this movie they actually used real corsairs.

  • not like they had speacial effects then,

but they also used actuall film from the war

  • My 2nd favorite show of all time next to the original Twilight Zone. Remember when that really good Japanese ace, I think Harachi was his name, would fly over VMF-214 and taunt Boyington to come up and fight? And after that one episode where they both lost their planes they shared rice wine on the beach? Awesome!

  • you're right,Lt"Tommy" Harachi,Pappy would call him "riceball"

  • F4U Corsair in my opion was the best ww2 fighter def in pacific

    Go Steelers

    Go Penguins

    Go Pirates

    Go Notre Dame

    Go Pappy!

  • Go Notre Dame? Pappy was University of Washington alum. Go Huskies.

  • so im a good Catholic Go Irish

    Go Steelers

    Go Penguins

    Go Pirates

    Go Notre Dame

    Go Central Catholic High School

    beat USC! ND or washington

  • I admire your loyalty to all your teams, but (ouch!) you couldn't capitalize Washington? And for the record, one Catholic to another, go Bishop Blanchet H.S.

  • Loved this show.

It was like Battlestar Galactica in WWII

    :D

  • The japanese called the F4u "whistling'" death, IIRC.

  • i'm not in laos..... that said, i'm sure i'll not move to the usa were there are such high levels of racism, poverty, injustice, aids, lack of self-respect, gun- toting kids, junkies, and obesity.....

  • Thats the cool thing about freedom you dont have to do any of that. Sure enough most people dont.

  • I'm not sure what part of the world you're from, but the US has far LESS racism, sexism, etc than most other countries. At least here, women aren't treated like second class citizens. Look at the racial tension in most Asian countries today. The Chinese are still in a Caste system, the North Koreans hate the South Koreans and the Muslim world is no better. Look at the rest of the world, then look at us. Clearly you're prejiduce. Perhaps YOU don't like our black president.

  • Vf 214 rules the pacific

  • i liked this show back in the '70s, but now i hate americans and american values

  • And your point is...? Stay in Laos, then.

  • Partner, you're on the wrong post.

  • This was my Favorite show when I was a Kid, Wow what memories. Pappy Boyington, Remember the Durracell Comercial where he said go ahead nock it off I dear ya! Sweeet!

  • Sorry, It was Everready Batteries

  • wow im 15 and i own all the seasons haha got to love F4U Corsairs

  • Revisionist Japs...only they could believe the US were the aggressors in WW2. We'll end up fighting them again eventually. Should have ground their soil with salt like the Romans did to Carthage.

  • This was great show that dumber as it went along. The problem was that it tried to emulate "Charlie's Angels" by bringing in beautiful nurses, none of whom could act. When they did that, it really brought the show down.

  • A show like this will never be produced in Hollywood again because it portrayed the Americans as the good guys and the Japanese as the bad guys. Now one mans terrorist is just another mans freedom fighter according to the wankers in Hollywood.

  • @Crimble67 well said

  • @Crimble67 well gimmie a break we conducted the most successful genocide in the 20th century on the japanese.. whattya expect.

look at the numbers we wiped out 50-90% of ALL their cities population McNamara even owns up to this and he himself calls what they were doing a war crime

  • @bokxybabee Ha, ha, ha...good one!

  • @Crimble67 you fucking republican douche

  • @bokxybabee You are a product of public schools I presume? McNamara had NOTHING to do with WW II, We did NOT conduct genocide (progressive propaganda) against the Japanese, however the Japanese DID murder well over 20 million Chinese and others during the course of the war, and WE did NOT 'wipe out' 50-90% of ALL their cities populations. You know NOTHING about WW II, go back to smoking your dope and sucking your thumb FOOL!

  • @Crimble67 no, you're an idiot, Mcnamara admits it in Fog of war, besides, the proof was in the pudding of the destroyed cities of japan, and im not saying the japs were any better, just that you are too stupid and blind to see the truth when its smacking you in the face

its fucking idiots like you that are always the problem

  • @bokxybabee If your age is correct it would partially explain your warped perspective. Let me ask you a question, Was the U.S. bombing campaign against Germany a war of genocide? Hundreds of thousands of German civilians were killed by the U.S. eighth Air Force and dozens of cities were bombed into the stone age. Cologne and Dresden were virtually wiped off the map. Was that a campaign of genocide?

  • @Crimble67 the term is not technically correct, but yes, it was basically the same thing that we did to the germans. the worst war crimes yet committed in history. no matter what you do or say nothing will ever justify the countless babies burned to death by the United States bombers.

even many of the air crews knew it was wrong, do some reading up, The Mighty Eighth goes into it some, but of course text references are in the hundreds

  • @bokxybabee Why is the term 'not technically correct' my commie friend?

The Japanese killed 20 MILLION Chinese, Korean and Filipinos alone. That doesn't even include combatants from America, England, Australia, etc. You aren't talking to some fluoride drinking sheeple here. I can spot a commie a mile away. In the face of facts you will always twist the truth into an attack on America when anyone with a computer can see the death statistics from WW II and see that the Japs killed many more.

  • @Crimble67 lol

    K.

i said already, puppet, that what the japanese did to whoever is not the point in a thread about the Black Sheep. this is about american bombers.

like McNamara said, destroying every city and killing 50-90% of the cities populations WAS NOT PROPORTIONATE response to their attacking our military base in Pearl Harbor.

  • @bokxybabee I don't OBEY imaginary internet rules about a particular "thread" pertaining to the Black Sheep (who were all American heroes). The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was the opening salvo of all out warfare, a fight to the death and Yamamoto knew it! The Japanese did indeed awaken "the sleeping giant". If the Japanese had had the technical and industrial capabilities to bomb U.S. cities they would have. But they didn't. America did! You mess with the bull, you get the horns!

  • @Crimble67

jpn just wanted all the western influence out of asia, can you blame them? was there ever a more shameful govt affair than Opium trade by brits? that was a much worse affair than war even. flouride doesnt come close to that kind of drug indoctrinatn

if china wants revenge on jpn, its their affair not ours.

call me a commie, i just LOL, you cant stand substantive debate so you name call, failure

Nothing you can say will ever justify the countless babies burned to death by US bombers.

  • @bokxybabee Everyone's gotta play the victim these days, it's so pathetic! JAPAN GOT EVERYTHING IT DESERVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Crimble67 they probably said the same thing about the chinese. that's pretty shitty attitude towards others. it was not 'all out warfare'. destroying every city and killing 50-90% of the cities populations WAS NOT PROPORTIONATE response to their attacking our military base in Pearl Harbor. i guess we've said our respective pieces at this point.

  • @bokxybabee You don't use proportionate force to win a war, you use overwhelming force. That's why we are stuck 9 years in Afghanistan. As for the bombing offensive, blame the Japanese. They were the ones who refused to surrender even when their cause was obviously hopeless. They reaped what they sowed.

  • @sre2464 afghanistan? thats a complete apple to an orange. the reasons we were there were not even military.

and saying 'they reaped what they sowed'? thats ridiculous

thats like saying if you punch me in the face, that i have the right to literally rape your mother and burn your children to death. it doesnt work that way. and if you go ahead and do it, youre committing genocide, no matter what

even if they were "justified" in doing it wich they arent

    its still genocide

  • @bokxybabee You miss my point regarding Afghanistan. Overwhelming force needs to be used in war to achieve victory.

As for being ridiculous, frankly it's you I find in that regard. Considering the level of technology available, there was no way civilians weren't going to get caught. The Japanse with there failure to accept defeat, brought upon themselves their own destruction. I suggest you review the meaning of genocide before you start throwing that word around.

  • Loved this show as a kid. i was 7 when it was on and I fel lin love with flying and airplanes because of it and it inspired me to actually become a pilot. Seems cheesy now and badly filmed but still a great memory !

  • Hi Slaughter 70, I am from Singapore and I would like to thank you for the video. I like the song and the video to the bbbs tv series. It used to be one of my favourite tv series when I was young.

  • Boyington's books is a great read and I am going to purchase a copy for myself quite soon. In my opinion, still a shame that the memorial of him was shot down...... Leastways: I thought it was too bad Hutch was killed. For some reason, I always liked his character of all of them the most :-)

  • I loved this show when it was on, and always looked for re-runs. Favorite episodes include Up For Grabs and Last One For Hutch! Always had an interest in WWII, and even though I knew this show was not "accurate", I never missed it! I wish they would put season 2 on DVD!

  • UNA DE MIS SERIES FAVORITAS A PRONCIPIO LOS 80's. ME ENCANTABAN LOS COMBATES AEREOS..MUCHA ACCION Y BUENOS EFECTOS. ALGUIEN SABE SI ES POSIBLE DESCARGARLA DE ALGUNA PAGINA WEB??
