I have a 2010 V6 and a 2011 or 12 GT gets the same mpg as the V6. Not to mention about 100 extra horsepower and a way better sound. If you want the extra horses and the loud exhaust be smart and save up for a GT I think it would pay off.

I like the new v6's. I ended up getting an 09 GT instead because I can't help but love the sound of a v8 that the v6 just can't match. Not to mention all of the different mods available for the eariler mustangs right now. :)

These sound almost the same as stock, and I bet they are worse for performance since they are flowmaster chambered mufflers (likely to drone as well). Roush axle backs sound way better + better performance.

I also think the domestic lover crowd get too caught up on the idea of a v8 being the sound of performance. I love a nice sounding v8, not all are. That said, there are some nice sounding v6, inline6, v10 and v12 engines. One of my favorite at the moment is the 4.8L v10 in the Lexus LFA. Sounds amazing, pure amazing but nothing like an American v8.

I like the sound of a nice v6 and think the new mustang sounds good (kind of 350z) with exhaust upgrades like this. The mustang v6 doesn't sound better than most v8 mustangs though in my opinion also. Now a 2jz supra with 3.5 - 4 inch exhaust and big single turbo  sounds just as amazing as most v8 cars yet totally different.

@cjpp78ytube So true!! I used to drive an '87 5.0 and after test driving the new v6 (girlfriend's looking at upgrading from her 2003 stock civic), I can honestly say that it feels much better! Hell, it's even faster than the 2002 GT I owned. So with my 2004 Mystichrome Whippled Cobra sitting in the garage, we'll own only domestic vehicles. My guess is, this new mustang v6, which sounds as good as a European car, will get a lot of import owners to reconsider buying AMERICAN !

@cjpp78ytube Yeah, I totally agree. V8 Mustangs from even 6 years ago didn't have 300 HP. This V6 in the Mustang is very modern, and is finally catching up with the German and Japaneese V6s. Plus, with this exhaust, it sounds almost like an Infiniti G. I LOVE IT!

Those old V6's and V8's - yes, they were old, yes, the had lower mpg than today cars, but hell they were reliable, nothing on that car that could actually break. @jeffoden not many of the axleback systems will net you anything. If you really want to pull some more power (and remember power is different to different people (torque, hp, low revs high revs etc...) you want to get rid of the cats. They restrict flow a lot more than a muffler. I removed mine and gained 21 rwtq down low with only a 1hp gain down low. and lost 1 ftlbtq at the top end but gained 11 hp. so its all kinda subjective, went to an OR H with a flowmaster original 30 catback

Got these in september, and a super easy install, the best tone available in the after market (personnal opinion) and just great mufflers ... except the paint comes off and the rust to sh*t after 4 months ... all around best product around if you can live with having rust on your new mustang / replace 750$ mufflers every year
