What is it about the Vogues? I knew this song long before the Drew Carey Show came along, and I've loved it since the first time I heard it.
This song puts me in a different world, where the contentions of humankind melt away and life is an eternal malt shop set along a highway next to a river surrounded by dogwood, maple, and spruce, and it's always 84 degrees and mostly sunny.
That`s not even the original version. There`s a chorus dubbed in there with other instruments to simulate stereo which it isn`t. I prefer the 45 hit version anyday.
@parallaxspectre & @MerrimacVI I tested the clip and found: 240p gave 64kbit/s 22KHz Stereo MPEG audio, and both 360p & 480p gave 44KHz Stereo AAC audio streams. My tools won't give bitrates for AAC audio Wikipedia says that they both use 128kbit/s and confirms my findings [Article: "YouTube", under heading: "Quality and codecs"]
@MerrimacVI I listened to yours also and while it is very clear, the vocals don't take the forefront as they should. In my opinion this is in better balance. I'm just a listener, though, not a sound engineer, so what do I know ?!
@CattailsandRoses Vocals are strongest in the center channel on 5.1, just like what you would have in a movie, so not surprising they might seem a little muted to you.
Don't listen to what some people say, it does sound better when you switch to 480p unless you have the shittiest sound system ever. Lol.

I would love for the Proclaimers to cover this song. I feel like their goofy Scottish-ness would work really well

The resolution of the video does not effect the quality of the sound - the sound is going to be 128kb/s mp3 no matter what you do.
I did a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound version of this, it'll kill ya. See related videos.

@MerrimacVI Play the song in 480p, then shift it down to 240p - it sounds like a ringtone in 240p, I can hear the downgrade CLEARLY.

@parallaxspectre It's the same audio file, you can even download it from YT now by itself. The video resolution does not affect the audio.

Thanks so much! The Rhapsody site only has about seven fake-stereo versions.
