I just started all over in pokemon platinum and Im going to raise my 6 main pokemon to LV 100. It may take a long time but I will have a team of LV 100 pokemon. Starting with my LV 5 Chimchar

@oreo8118 You CAN run a physical ninetales, but it won't do far from well in competitive play. You should read my video description, because I'm obviously well aware of its terrible stats. This ninetales' stats are the reason why I raised a second ninetales through the EV training process. It's safe to say, the one I use in competitive play kicks ass (it was on my winning team of GameStop's "Toughest Trainer on the Block" tournament).

@doublejg hmmm i wasnt aware of EV training either and i find it confusing that my stats dont go up very much. I've seen stats go up by +32, 46. but when i EV train it only goes up by 8 or 9 every level. I even had macho brace on so i dont know whats wrong

@oreo8118 It's all based on your pokemon's level. For example, if you take a level 5 Pikachu with 0 EVs, pump it full of EVs before leveling up, it will only get +3 or so of whatever stat(s) you pumped EVs into. Now, if the pokemon was level 90 or so, the pokemon will have a LOT of stats to catch up on, hence why it would go up by +32 or so. Rest assured, your pokemon will be gaining the same end result as the next one if properly EV trained.

@oreo8118 No, you can start EV training as soon as the egg hatches. Ok, picture it like this. Each pokemon has a max stat at each level. Say for example Pikachu's max HP at level 50 is 100 (hypothetically speaking). If you max out your Pikachu's HP EVs (let's just disregard IVs for now) by level 25, your Pikachu will have a max possible HP from that level onward. Instead of getting a big +40 in the end, the +40 will be spread out across several levels. Does that make sense?
