(Shenmue) Project Berkley CG Intro

:( Shows so much that wasn't in Shenmue 1 or 2, probably what would have been in 3. Maybe if they hadn't taken so long to introduce the 'magic' element, more people would have been interested and bought it. Comparing this to what the games became feels like they got sidetracked into creating a small Japanese town simulator. Shenmue 1 boils down to Ryo trying to leave his home! That should have been condensed down to a few hours and not an entire game.

I'm guessing where Lan Di and Shenhua meet will be right after the Shenmue II where they unlocked the secret with the other mirror... and something is supposed to reveal itself to possibly some treasure(?)

Iwao was in Guilin 16 years before he was murdered by Lan Di. Ryo grew up with Iwao, his mother died when he was at an early age. Shenhua was orphaned and grew up with her stepfather. Everything indicates that Shenhua is Ryo's sister.. This video shows that Lan Di will appear and attack Shenhua in Shenmue III or later parts.. Ryo will probably travel by train to north China, where the Qing Dynasty once were..

I really hope that we get a follow-up, but I doubt.

I'm of the opinion that Shenhua is not Ryo's sister. I believe that Lan Di and Shenhua are both royal descendants who possess 'power' to unlock the mirrors and the death's of SunMing Zhao and Shenhua's stepfather are linked to destroying that bloodline.

Lan Di will attack Shenhua in order for the player to continue the quest alone and with an objective. I believe it will in Bailu Village when Ryo is in the field looking at the trees.

Oh man every time something likes this comes about i get so dissapointed :( most people thought like this.. Yer but you only press buttons and it's all cut scenes, how sad these people never played the games through to see how rich the story and the envirements were, the 2 shenmues for me have been probabley 2 of the best games ive ever played which drew me in to this amazing world which i miss badly :(

Its a sort of CGI teaser of shenmue before it

was announced or even named,

Its called 'Project Berkley' and If im not mistaken

was shown at TGS in 1998 or 1999.

The faces were more refined, but Lan Di looked a little Japanese.

Anyway I do not want to fight or kill Lan Di with Ryo Hazuki, so I can never complete this game.

couldnt agree more with whiteguysamurai and what darksmiley said is correct although i beleive yu suzuki has done all he needs to have done for the series to be finished, its all ready but just needs to be made into a certain format or platform, basically waiting for a deal to be done (most likely xbox360 seen as microsoft buy anything no matter what the price)
