As a song writer I know that a nasty break up or divorce can be fodder for years worth of "done me wrong" songs. On one hand you like to think he could get a six pack of "Get the Hell Over It", but the songs are so good that his misfortune is our pleasure. He musta really dug that broad.
@tannerdrummer48 he say´s things like "always the summers...are slipping away" (Trains) and "summer day in garlands I feel secure" (Great Expectations) or "by summer it was all gone" (Shesmovedon) "summerdress slips down her arm" (Open Car)...I think it´s a theme in his music, related like you said to losing someone but also to his childhood in a nostalgic sense. (Time Flies?)
@IDontDoDrumCovers Was it? I thought only "Arriving Somewhere..." was directly based on the script and the other songs weren't... Oh well, on the other hand he could've added this theme to the script, too ;)
