dude i have an amstrad and my screen flickers alot iv played with the settings and i cant change it also the top of the screen shows at the bottom any advice!!!1
I played this at a older boys house years ago when I was a kid...I found out years later that boy hung himself, whenever I see ghost and goblins it reminds me ... 0_o
I get goosebumps seeing this, how I loved this game as a kid growing up in the 80's.. wish I still had my old CPC464.. also loved the games, Karnov, bruce lee.. very difficult to get through, as all games were back then
I hated this game. i came approx. up the ladder and 10 meters more before something killed me again and again. For me it was one of the hardest games ever made.
I remember being so dissapointed with this when it came out because in the arcade version you lost your armour before you got killed, I remember the Spectrum version had the lost armour before dying but the graffix were not as good as the Amstrad!...... no conversion compaired to the coin op though......... I play that quite a bit these days!
Indeed. Games were rock hard back then. I could never decide whether it was due to bad programming, or whether it was done on purpose (i.e. latter levels didn't actually exist, but you'd never know because it was too hard to reach them - hence the developers save some money on a game thats only 25% made ? ) Hmmmmm ?!
theres a very funny story out there on the net detailing exactly how this sick monstrosity of a game ever got made. basically it goes like this - a 15/16 year old kid was paid $50 to do all the graphics (the kid actually had to go to an arcade and made sketches while watching other people play)
.. but being unable to see people playing the later levels he organized to go into Elite headquarters where there was a GNG coin-op machine set to freeplay... but after playing all night noone could get anywhere in the game. needing to still get the game made they just completed what they could..... absolutely hilarious
god this game is awesome! I play it on winape all the time at work. I was really pleased when it came out on the 464 because I used to play it at the arcade.
Its totally different from the 464 port of Ghouls and Ghosts which is terrible
Yes, it was quite difficult and the music is amazing. I mean, you are talking about a game that has no sound effects -- the soundtrack completely captures the player and puts him in that creepy atmosphere.
@genesisduke72 Probably worst CPC conversion EVER. Light years behind the C64 version. If you want to enjoy a great CPC conversion go for Gryzor instead... On the other hand the C64 version of Gryzor is... Well... Let's say it just "is".
Fuck. This. Game. Seriously, looking back, I wish I'd torn the tape from dear old Arnold and smashed it with a fucking axe.
(yeah, I only ever got as far as the swooping knight-fuck-bastards halfway through level 1 and I'm still bitter about it 26 years later)

@Scotland2008
I am the one who said "This version belongs to Amstrad cpc6128". I dind't know that the cpc6128 looks exactly as the CPC 464.
Sorry, I dind't mean to mix up anyone :P

Yikes you can only take one hit in this version?

Yep. Insanely difficult to play. Most games were back then. Kids these days have it easy :)
