  • hi manjula aunt

i have tried your milk cake and it came out perfect . thankyou for the recipe i have been looking for it from the last 4 yrs . i want to know that if i want to make a big batch lets suppose 4 times of your recipe how much lemon juice should i use and do i have to increase the sugar 4 times please help me. i made this last time and double the recipe but the milk cake had a bit sour ness i think because of too much lemon juice(6 tbsp i think).

  • @mfarah04

Use 2 time the lemon juice, but sugar should be four times.

  • why 10 hours!!!??? don't get it!!! isn't it just the same if you put it in the fridge and wait 2??? I'm gonna do this today and i wanna eat it today!!

  • Its impossible to wait 10 hours before we slice it. How can we wait without eating such a yummy dish.

  • Manjula - love all your recipes. You make cooking seem so easy. One request, can you teach us how to make some sweets with Splenda? There are many western dishes but no Indian ones. With so many people having diabetes these days, this is something which has become more of a necessity. Our sweet tooth will definitely thank you - Kavita

  • nice but tell me how u make paneer soft...i saw ur paneer making video and i try 2 make many times but lemon not works so that,s why i use tatri.....and paneer make very hard........

  • i tried it today! it good. but as soon as i put lemon, some brown color chunks appeared(heat was medium). and it didnt break as u have shown in the video(i have put about 2p lemon) why so?

  • I thought milk and lemon don't go together

  • great recipe! i have a question- did you say you let the milk cake sit at room temperature for 10 hours? do you need to refrigerate during this time? will the milk cake not go bad? what about after for storing? at room temp or in fridge?

  • Manjula, could we use milk powder rather than fresh milk?

  • Manjula aunty, Please let me know 6 cups of milk means approx. how many litres of milk and sugar how much gms.? Please reply.

  • thnkx Manjula unty.. :) finally i got this recipee and now i cant wait to try it :)

  • I made it yesterday. I don't know, it came out as the grainiest sandesh, even after blending it. Yours looks like a panir burfi; I mean, more rubbery than grainy.

  • Thanks Manula, I've been looking for this recipe for ages. Just one Q - whats happened to your saris?!

  • Im going to try this recipe, thank you very much!!!

  • Can I use 1% milk to make this? Please let me know. This looks very delicious but I will be less guilty to eat it if its made form low fat milk.

  • It is very simple and thank you Manjula I been trying to find a easy recipe cause in my country you can´t get to much of the ingredients but today I see I have found one :),

  • Aunty Thank you for the lovely recipes! you have some great once looking forward for more :)

  • @Teddypigyyy green cardamom i think it ia

  • my grand mother made this recipe ..or i m happy to c this in ur video after a long time...its realy very testy

  • This looks soooo good. I wish I could curdle milk so well. I am finda scared to try this. it seems like you have to know when to add the ingredients and watch it carefully, and removing the milk fat. You have such a knack for cooking. I will have to watch this vid again to see if I can do it. I know it must taste so good. I have learned SOOOO much from your videos. Please don't ever stop teaching us your loving techniques.

  • I love your recipes! I want to cook this one so badly!

Is there a home recipe for "Kajubarfi" or Cashew Bars... not sure how to spell them. But I love that dessert!

  • Can I use soy milk instead of dairy milk?

  • @tigerlilyxoxo

For this recipe soy milk will not work.

  • Will another type of milk work? Coconut, almond, soy? I am vegan and don't eat dairy.

  • @secondbase

Sorry you will need to use the milk for this recipe.

  • @Manjulaskitchen Hello Can I use Jaggery instead of sugar , will it taste better ?

  • @ganeshmeal

I have never tried but I will recommend to try and let us know.

  • @secondbase Manjula's right, whole milk is the way to go but you can make rice pudding or tapioca with the other "milks".

  • @secondbase soy milk will curdle as well as cow's milk but make sure you use sweetened stuff and buttery-tasting vegan margarine.

  • Thank You, Manjula,Another great recipe I will try soon.

Does this method work with goats milk and raw milk?

Will I need to remove the milk fat?

  • @DizzzyKipper will work with any milk you can curdle. And why would you (or why would you want to even) remove the milk fat? :)

  • @Gutsyndicate It's wonderful isn't it.

    Old World know how.

She is one of my favorite on line cooks.I've have learned so much.=)

  • this recipe is just like a "dulce de leche" my granny used to make in Venezuela, she did not use cardamom and she cooked the mixture until it got golden brown. Thanks Mrs. Manjula!
