Mariska died 5 years ago this past week (2006) so over @ my Facebook page, I devoted my whole wall to Shocking Blue vids, because I loved her and her GREAT Dutch band for over 40+ years. Robbie, Klaasje & Cor were the BEST bandmates she could have EVER had ^5 r.i.p Mariska..you'll always be loved and remembered

This sequence is from the German music series "Disco" (Second German Television) -

"Shocking you" by Shocking Blue was the very first song of the first boardcast of "Disco" (1971-1982). One of the early German color music shows.

The young man in the background (widly signing autographs) was the moderator Ilja Richter.

"Disco" was repeated several times in the German satellite or cable channels "3 SAT", "ZDF Musikkanal" (does no longer exist) and actually in "ZDF Theaterkanal".

You see, Pen, I have heard only their big hig 'Venus' as a kid in the early 1970s, never knew the name of the group and I assumed they were Americans. I am only now, through Youtube, am discovering their wonderful rock n roll stylings and that there are many, many other groups outside of the U.S. of A and Great Britian that contributed quite handsomely to this genre.
