English Heritage may not be the best man for the job, but it's the ONLY person for the job! It's been a paying site for over 100 years, to pay for the upkeep & repair. In recent times & with more tourism that cost has risen. 1 million visitors a year & more if it was a free site. 39,000 solstice revellers in 1 night leaves this sacred site devastated the morning after. Evidence of just 1 day, what would the stones look like after 6 months with no upkeep. Are u going to pay from your own pocket?
