  • amazing

  • Totally awesome CG for a totally awesome battle.

  • Great Video! Awesome Warp effect! Some more detailed battle damage would be even more cool. Great Job!

  • Very nice Warp Jump effect.

  • That was amazing! Defanetley subscribed

  • can you do the USS Relativity?

  • Love your warp effect :)

  • @Tophertron I second that!

  • @ccnippon, rendering stuff like this takes a great deal of time, effort, and Cpu horse power ;)

Very good Mylex! VERY impressive. Subscribed!

  • I think you are ready to copy Star Trek II from the beginging to end :)

  • Again another excellent video, well done :-)

  • 2 and a half minutes of credits, and a minute of 'intro' at the end. Fully half of the video is filler. Come on man.

  • love it

  • Absolutly excellent! I am subscribed since I enjoy watching all of your videos when they come out. So are you an independant person that is just great at CGI or are you part of a Visual Effects company?

  • NIICE! WOW

  • All I can say is wow. You did a great job. Keep it up.

  • Well done sir!

  • That was frickin' magnificent! So glad I subscribed to your channel. If you don't yet have a job in visual effects, someone needs to give you one STAT!

  • Okay, I've got to know! What program did you use to animate this?

  • @MaskedMan67

This was created and rendered with 3DS MAX

  • Full screen 1080p FTW

  • That was cool! Why aren't you making movies with skillz like this? Dam good work!

  • stunning as always. a great tribute to one of the best trek films of all time

  • Alternate reality is cool. ;)

  • I'm impressed. That was really good. Thank you.

  • Two words: Simply stunning!

  • F*****g amazing!

  • Beautiful mylex!

  • also the ending with the Spock voice over to Warp jump....Priceless. fitting to the TNG, and classic series intros.

  • again awesome work, The Nebula and ships were beautiful. and adding the live action sequences was epic. you never cease to amaze or impress me. Keep it up.

  • Beautiful, patient work. The best CG effects period. If only the remastered Star Trek effects looked half so good. Maybe you should remaster one of the remastered episodes!

  • It could use some improvements in realism (Battle damage), but besides that, excellent job!

  • Excellent job!! Thanks for all your hard work.

  • Finally! a TWOK video that is a different approach! Great stuff man!

  • My new favorite Youtube video!

  • What is the big 1 and 2 on the back of the Relent in the blue areas of the back of the main hull? (as seen in 3:43 )

  • wtf, no damage for enterprise? did kirk fight in god mode?

  • @manueldavidoff

No, he is just better than Khan ;-)

  • @mylex67 i get it, khan get scare when kirk scream: khaaaaaaan!

  • @manueldavidoff He's Captain Kirk. Even when he died he didn't really die.

  • @manueldavidoff There's never been a time when Kirk did NOT fight in GOD MODE! :D

  • Interesting! Great production just not really a fan of the ad live. Those scenes in the movie just can't be changed.

  • I liked the little Enterprise dodge at 5:31, but I think missing the musical cues after that with the movements and other creative editting missed the mark a bit on this animation. Should've kept it closer to the actual movie movements. And where's the shot of the Reliant coming out of the clouds?

Also, do you get your movie clips from the DVD or Blu-ray?

  • @ThrashTillDeath73

The movie footage was taken from the BD because the render was in Full HD with 24 frames.

I don't want to recreate the movie, so I decided to do something different and that's the problem. Some people would have an exact recreation but that's too simple in my opinion.

  • @mylex67 +1 for BD footage, but it looked a bit upconverted for some reason.

And then as far as the creative license, I can agree to that point, but some of those shots are so iconic that they need to be in there, IMO anyway. (And I'm not that big of a ST fan.) Adding stuff that wasn't in the film to your own interpretation is cool as well, but those iconic shots with proper music cues would have been muy excelente.

  • @ThrashTillDeath73

Yes the footage was upscaled to 1:1.78 aspect ratio to fit with the CG elements.

  • In five years time if you guys aren't in the industry - I hope ur leading the pack in online movie making . When your team puts something together you get the feeling you appreciate movie making . A viewer's response is 'I want to see more' rather than just ' hmm that's interesting' response you get when watching other efforts. So don't think you need much encouragement so well done on your productions and look forward to Things to Come

  • @TheJlook2000 What blows my mind is that these are actually compiled by a single person from what I know. He credits the original creators of the models used in these videos (such as Bailey for the enterprise model), but the making of the film and animation is a solo project. Mylex feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

And on a side note, this is awesome!

  • @SGTBizarro then even more plaudits and credits where due !

  • Now you should do the escape of the Enterprise before the Reliant explodes... just a thought. :D

  • @CJCA915

It was my intention, that the Reliant was not destroyed, so there is place for another video...maybe the rescue of the Reliant ;.) It would be a pity to destroy that great mesh :-)

  • @mylex67 Fascinating... lol.

I may start my TWoK video over when I get done with the TMP stuff... using Raul's Enterprise and Reliant...

  • @CJCA915 Hopefully a different scene ?

  • @TheJlook2000 Well, I tend to stick to matching angles, etc. just my style.

  • @CJCA915 Isn't that a bit like jogging behind somebody ?

  • @TheJlook2000 Well, I always hear people when something is remastered, that they change it up too much, so I try to lessen that possible criticism... plus, I try to see if I can match the shot I'm doing, sure I can easily switch up angles, etc. but I love the compliments I get for matching up angles as good as I do...

  • @CJCA915 they say imitation is the highest compliment but repetition can be dull . Still its great to see work done by all people with technical savvy and creativity - there's too little of it so can only applaud those who continue to upload their work !

  • @TheJlook2000 Well, I have my method of doing things... it makes me proud, so I enjoy it.

  • Excellent as usual

  • You really breezed through this one. Not saying it's bad, it just seems like you did this faster than a lot of your other projects.

  • @CJCA915

Not faster than the other one, it took about 4 weeks to finished this, but I spent more time (hours) in this project so I could release it before christmas :-)

  • @mylex67 ahhh, ok.

  • @CJCA915 I have to agree with CJ, I was expecting this to be released like in a month or 2. & quite honestly I was expecting more, not saying it's bad, it's fantastic, even the idea of changing the whole concept is great, but your teaser gave a completely different impression of what you were going to show us. I was expecting either a much more in depth fight scene of the the originally movie or a different concept that was equally impressive. This just seemed too simple and incredibly short.

  • @smileygabe22

I'm sorry that you've expected more, my idea to this video was to change the parts, the Enterprise should be hunting the Reliant, for this I choose the right movie shots and fill them with the CG Parts. I couldn't recognized all shots because the length of the clipshouldn't be longer than 5 minutes. Maybe the next video you like better :-)

  • @mylex67 Don't apologies, it's a great video! I was expecting something like what you did in the space opera where you filled in the gaps of the crew talking with more scenes of the ships.

Reliant went down too easy though its a Destroyer class ship! Enterprise should of been hit at least once.

Again, fantastic job I am constantly checking your page for see more of this beautiful art of yours. When I saw the teaser, I was so excited and thrilled, can't get enough of it!

  • @smileygabe22

Thanks a lot, the explosion shots were really difficult, so I reduced them to a minimum

but you're right, Enterprise should get at least one hit...next time :-)
