@Thetacticalcorner man its too bad that all cod fags out there (you arent one of them no offense) but those who are like "DO A 360 NO SCOPE QUICK SCOPES FTW MLG PRO" shit would be like you and look at a real game. i like arcade shooters but no cod im more of a counter strike and CSS and some DOD:S here and there.
@Thetacticalcorner@Thetacticalcorner You should try Operation Flashpoint, the ORIGINAL one from Bohemia Interactive Studios (BIS), even if it's graphically outdated. There are mods that pushes it to the max though. Still, it really is incredible and remains incredible. :)
Wow my armas (arma 1, and arma 2 oa) look a lot better than your versions. Maybe its just bad video quality or maybe your settings or maybe your computer just sucks....
@Thetacticalcorner yea i never played the first operation flashpoint and i was kinda like you till like 2 years ago... then i tried the ofp demos and i loved it but didnt buy the full game... then i remember playing dragon rising when it came out... i love it but still not fully what im expecting from a realistic shooter... now i found arma 2 (i heard of the name armed assault ages ages ago just that i didnt even check what is it) and im getting it now... its just amaizing!
Anyone notice the visuals are actually getting worse? I mean the graphics have improved drastically, but for me OFP will always "look" the best. I wish BI would pursue more of a realistic and authentic approach to their games (regarding both visuals/gameplay), A2/OA is way too shiny for me.
@LJFHutch Good eye catch there. :D Yes, the new graphics seem like you're playing a videogame, while, IMO, with the original OPF you're somehow "in that world".
Still, ArmA 2 is good, despite the artificiality of it. xD
Not a good test at all for a good test you would have to have arma2 at more than low gfx settings as that looked ugly as sin.You even lagged in op flash a few times lol
@trooperdrummer I've a QuadCore @2.4 Ghz and a GeForce 8800 since 2007 (yes, may be laughable compared to newer rigs), have installed OPF ever since and believe me, when I've put the command "setviewdistance" at 5000 meters it STILL lags, especially with more than hundreds of soldiers and vehicles moving and fighting. It's not an issue of the PC, it's an issue of the simulator that hasn't been fully optimized at the time.
ofp graphics were nothing special but functional and authentic (for a gritty realistic war sim), while arma 1 & 2 look much better, but are, at the core, the same games as flashpoint.
Flashpoint started off back in 2001 as basic realistic military sim, over the last 9 years, there have been updates,& people making mods for it,boosting graphics, performance and realism. If I set it on full settings its like playing ARMA, Arma the unoficial sequel has good graphics but the best are arma2 but Flashpoint is a classic and all round the best :) if your looking for fun and wanna play war with many addons and mods flashpoint is the choice,if u just want realism arma is the game for you
@MaggoTForLif3 There is a OFP:CWC campaign mission over Kolgujev, where A-10 gets hit and pilot runs out of fuel. I guess you could do it with good script.
