I'm mostly a basher. Although, I was thinking about racing at my local track this year. I've been in the hobby for about 10 years. I like what I see with the brushless and was thinking about getting one for bashing for now until I get used to them.

I know NOTHING about electric cars, but I can tune the crap out of a nitro :). I have a Nitro Stampede, a Nitro Firestorm, a Nitro Redcat Lightning, a nitro HPI RS4, a Nitro Savage, and a Nitro Chaos. I was thinking brushless, but I don't know what to get. Maybe Mini E-Revo?

@zanrath12345 I love my Savage X. It takes a beating. I know a lot of people who upgrade to the aluminum on the Savage, but I stick with the plastic simply because it seems to "bounce" back. The aluminum bends with a hard enough hit. The aluminum does look cool. I have aluminum on my Firestorm. Seems like the plastic is better on the Savage though. It's a blast. Plus, it was really fun to build!

@zanrath12345 My favorite company is HPI. I have a Savage X SS and a Firestorm. They are my favorite cars. Saying that, Redcat is honestly my second favorite company. I have had a few Traxxas cars, I actually own one now. Traxxas is great, don't get me wrong, I just like Redcat better. I know a lot of people will laugh at me on here, but most of the people laughing has NEVER owned a Redcat car.

Anyway, my Redcat Lightning is crazy fast, easy to start and tune, and was only $179.99 brand new. They stand behind their products just like Traxxas, HPI, Losi, Team Associated, etc. The only difference is that they aren't as advertised and they are about half the cost of those advertised companies. Keep in mind, one downfall is that you'll probably have to buy parts online. Most hobby stores don't carry them.

@MrChrisSoutherland hmmm.... what do you think about redcats s/h engines I saw pne guy say after 3 months his s/h lost its power so he ws on his second .28 s/h so like do they last long or do they lose compression quick? Im am willing pay for a more expensive toy (Savage x) so in the long run my savage will last much longer, rather than buy the 300$ Monsoon XTR (Looks sweet) and Have to buy a new engine down the road.

@zanrath12345 Like I said, my favorite is HPI. If you have the money, go with the Savage X. It's a great truck. I like Redcat too. My engine has been really good. They are like any nitro engine. If you take care of it, it will last a long time. I know people who say different engines are garbage simply because they don't know how to tune them and maintain them. I've had the same engine in my Traxxas Stampede for 10 years now. It probably has about 15 gallons or so through it. :)

@zanrath12345 My Savage is the SS kit. That's an option for you. Do you have a few spare servos laying around? The kit comes with everything except the electronics (servos, transmitter, receiver). Also, you have to build it yourself which is why I thought it was cool. If you do that, the kit is only $399.00. It's basically a matter of personal preference. I've seen the monsoon run. It's pretty sweet. It's fast ad looks nice. The savage will take a harder beating though.

I don't know i am having a really hard time because i cant find reviews about the monsoon XP or XTR

@zanrath12345 Sorry, I should have been more clear. The kit is $399 alone. I meant if you had extra servos laying around, it would be cheaper. If I were you, I'd go with the Monsoon for now. All Redcat vehicles now come with a 2.4 Ghz transmitter and receiver now. Another option is the Team Associated MGT 3.0 monster truck. They have been discontinued, but you can still find them around at hobby shops and online for around the $300 mark. My father-in-law got one for his son for Christmas.

Beast car collection idk what to get a 1/16 e-revo,Stampede 4x4, or e-maxx brushed I want something big but all these cars seem so BEAST! Does the E-maxx have alot of problems like if i drive it without crashing or jumping it will something break I have a Losi mini-lst and i love it! I just want something bigger but the E-revo 1/16 looks and seems cool is it almost as big as the e-maxx as far as length? Any suggestions will be helpful?
