  • excellent song...unfortunately the video is not so exceptionnal...nearly everybody can film normal places like that...

  • Steve Wilson is a complete git - I wish I had a tiny amount of that guys talent.

  • everyone in the world should hear this song.

  • I don't care what you say, this is the greatest song of all time.

  • I was a The Assembly in England to celebrate the 10th annivesary of Burning Shed. No Man, Theo Travis and Pineapple Thief was simply AMAZING!!

Congrats Burning Shed for 10 years of fantastic music.

  • wish steven would've sung this.

  • @xDROPDEADGORGEOUS It would have been beautiful, but I think it's good to hear somebody else sing for a change.

  • respect Steven...

  • Right between Mr. David Bowie and With Or Without You.

    Cheers!

  • Just wrote this in a Porcupine tree vid.

I'm 52 at the weekend and just getting to know Mr Wilson and collaberators.

It's a pleasure to find such an amount of music to get my head around.

  • @mccon59 You want more? Hit me up, i am 46 and during the 90s i had almost given up on music until i heard some internet radio stations playing Porcupine Tree, Pendragon, Threshold and oh so many other amazing artists. Too bad the music industry has become as corrupt as any other big corporation. The youth of the world really suffer because they only hear what is promoted and pushed by the big labels. Bands with REAL talent are pushed aside because the bands wont let their sound be edited

  • This guy is a genius !... Long live Steven Wilson ...

  • Steve Wilson is really one of today's best and most versatile musicians! Blackfield, No-Man, Porcupine Tree… – everything he does is great! Hope he'll get the appreciation he deserves. Unfortunately, at the moment almost nobody knows him and his projects.

  • Amazing video...and i love the song..you did a splendid job..^__^

  • this song bring me to soul of my loving little gilrl deseapeared into an icy lake 2 years ago...

"sorry my little Kailah for all the tears i give you...can't stop crying...i send you all my love"

this flower call "perce-neige" in french is the flower i prefer ! she is the first flower of sprint and able to grow throw the snow...the only hope of a new life...

i hope it will be the same for mine in a few time...

    love from bettylove

  • @jbettylove

Reading your comment about your little girl just made me weep, along with listening to this beautiful track. May the salty tears of a stranger start an ocean of strength for you.

  • @simonc12345 thanks simon from..."nowhere!" "stranger start" you said? hummm maybe just near my soul... Well, thanks for those friendly words. I try to find some other "heartwords" like your's but my english vocabulary is so poor...i hope to share full of fraternity thinks with you in futur...

    love from jbettylove!

  • God bless Steven Wilson... And this vid is so beautiful... ♥_♥

  • i like this vibe, but id rather listen to Wilson sing, so Blackfield is more suited for me.

  • Steven Wilson is probably the best person ever to be born. EVER!

  • Saw PT a few months ago and i can definitly say Steven Wilson is a genius in song writting and No-Man well is so emotive and so tranquilizaing, that i can spend all day listening to them

  • I totally love this, and I love Steven Wilson.

  • I love this song... Wherever there is light, I follow. Always! *SOmetimes i take a detour, but sometimes you have to intimately know a things polar opposite, in order to apprieciate it for what it truly is. I will always follow after light...

  • love it

  • Wherever there is light... I will always follow. My heart knows it like protective skin.

  • One of the best unofficial video clips!!! Thank you very much for the walk:-) Nice greetings from Austria!

  • @bjowie it is official. it was on the no-man dvd......

  • Beauty, I love it! Tim has great voice.

I love Porcupine Tree, than Blackfield but I think this band is something what I need too :) Every project of S. Wilson is different and that's what makes him so unique musician :)

  • No-Man is very good. School Yard ghosts is a great album No-Man...Always been listening to Porcupine Tree, then my older bro introduced me into this.

    The song speaks for itself.

  • One can easily understand how this was going to be Wilson´s main project. Seriously, No-Man has made some of the most beautiful music I´ve heard, along with some of the most wonderful words you will find.

(Makes me wish Tim wrote Porcupine´s lyrics, too.)

  • Nah, I really like Porcupine Tree's lyrics. I wouldn't have them change a bit.

    Beautiful song.

  • Well, Porcupine has some simple but real heartfelt songs, like Stranger by the minute, and even some moments of brilliance, like Trains, but I don´t know. No-man simply has the edge as far as words go.

And I love your username, by the way.

  • Thanks.

I love no-mans lyrics, but can you imagine something like these lyrics to, lets say, Strip the Soul? It just wouldn't fit.

The styles don't quite mesh, and that's why Steven does all the side projects he does. Because, he wants those other outlets in different styles.

That's why I wouldn't want porcupine tree to change anything. It doesn't need to, we've got No-Man. :)

  • I wouldn't say that.

But all bands that Steven Wilson has worked worth are so wonderful.

  • Comment removed

  • It makes you want to shed a tear with how beautiful, precious, bittersweet, and melancholy it feels. Truly a piece of art.

  • Great song...

  • Awesome band, awesome vibe (a bit sad maybe, lol) - awesome fans..... This is a beauuutiful CD. I like this 'band' better than Blackfield. I thought it was SW singing, until just now, I found out. I DO like these vocals.

    Go Porcupine People...! haha

  • very sweet ...so beautiful!!!

  • amazing song!!!!my favourite of no-man

    thnk you steven!!!!

  • SW iz a wiseman :x

  • Damn, I wanted to check out No Man and was hoping Steve Wilson did the vocals. He has a much better voice, but oh well. This song ain't bad.

  • Nice to see a video with our 'tree friends' front and center Nice...

  • whatever gave you the inspiration for this, keep hold of it.... deep.. moving... touching.. hmmm... great

  • Tim's voice is anything but "greasy" or "strained." (When I read "strained" I thought of someone screaming away to some whacked out hard rock/punk song). I happen to think its quite lovely, soft and expressive which goes nicely with the overall context of the song.

I think Tim's style of singing closely resembles old time "crooners" such as Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, etc. But his voice is much more mellow, soft, emotive and romantic. I love it!

  • Beautiful song...!!!

  • just great

  • I find this song similar to Porcupine Tree's "Feel So Low", but much more complex. It's great.

  • Yea, the guitar riff is similar.

  • This is such a beautiful song.

  • I've seen him yesterday in Düsseldorf. A dream come true ...

  • Steven Wilson is the 21st century's version of John Lennon in my opinion. Amazing musician and song writer

  • No one looks at Steven Wilson in the same way they look at John Lennon, but in my opinion, Steven Wilson is a much better songwriter, he's just not every middle aged persons hero who grew up listening to the Beatles.

  • @PointThree I have always stated on many posts that Steven Wilson is the 21st Century version of John Lennon.

It is hard to say anyone is a better song writer than John Lennon but Steven does have all the talent and skill to write classics such as Lennon did.

  • @PointThree I totally agree with you.

  • @PointThree Lennon is a joke really!

  • @PointThree You get the 60th like from me! Great comment :)

  • @PointThree well he is very good...but this is not the opinion of everyone... i'm not sure at all that he is better... he was more productive yes and he is talented yes...better... nobody can answer to this... it's like if i have to choose between vintage vangelis and vintage aerosmith (ok i exaggerate a lil bit)... personally i still better like the Beatles than Porcupine Tree

  • And if you want to here stuf like very early Porcupine Tree (trippy stuff like Voyage 34) you should listen to I.E.M. (Another Steven Wilson project

  • cheap knock off? its Steven Wilson (leader of Porcupine Tree) and Tim Bowness, A lot more mellow than Porcupine Tree more AOR (Adult Oriented Rock) vibe

  • im 18 and dont consider myself an adult.. and ive just fallen in love with this.

PT are amazing, and in my oppinion the best band in the world. but this is still stunning

  • you're actually more mature for your age then :)

  • yay

  • I'm 15 and agree. Wow I didn't know about no-man... I thought Steven Wilson was just in Blackfield, Porcupine Tree, and his solo projects... this is art.

  • lol you're ridiculous

  • they looks like porcupine tree

  • Beautiful song!!!!

  • i love this song

  • This song simply defines the word "beautiful". Truly amazing. And great work with the video too, mate! Goes perfectly together with the song's serenity and mellowness. I love it! :)

  • ke cancion!!!

  • amazing song from great album. I love it.

  • beautiful song..i got into no-man only few days back and I have become a big fan! way to go man!

  • The pedal steel is a new wrinkle for no-man. And it works wonderfully in the context of this song. Their whole catalogue of albums and EP's are essential listening.

  • hi my zip-a-dee-doo-dah baby i am now here for you as long you like big kisss your everlove and lover
