You guys are great! Love seeing people putting energy and enthusiasm into the things they love. Personally I adore the game, but even if I didn't I cannot see the reason for belittling someone else who is actually doing something fun =) I would rather spend time with someone who is creative and glad than a person who only has negative comments to add. Three guesses who will uplift your day and make you go home with a smile.
@22LtSmash Dragon Age has an actual storyline, actual character development, and actual strategical combat. If you don't like those things, then i can see why you think TES is better.
@Supergibb Lol you are actually trying to make a point that Dragon Age is better than Elder Scrolls? Not even on the same level - Elder Scrolls revolutionized fantasy RPG and raised the bar for exploration and sheer beauty, EA makes some linear, dumbed down D&D, adding as much blood as possible, and you few eat it up. Seriously Skyrim is going to be game of the year, DA and DA2 went by like a fart in the wind.
@22LtSmash I didn't realize i was talking to a fanboy. Forget anything i just said, you are right, please don't rape my family with you unwavering nerd boner for TES.
@22LtSmash@Supergibb Whoa, there, good sirs! I think we're getting a bit out of hand, here. DA and TES both bring a lot to the table. Daggerfall was an absolute revolution in open world gaming, and Skyrim has continued that noble tradition. DA is fairly linear, but brings a lot to the table in terms of moral and ethical dilemma. Both games are great, but for hugely different reasons! Not to mention they have two completely different art styles and intentions.
@22LtSmash Upon its release, Dragon Age: Origins was lauded with overwhelmingly positive reviews and considered a critical success. Aggregate review site Metacritic ranks the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions of the game with scores of 91, 87, and 86, respectively. The game also received multiple awards from numerous outlets, ranging from IGN's "PC Game of The Year (2009)" to the Academy of Interactive Arts & Science's "Role-Playing/Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year 2009".
@22LtSmash You cannot compare Elder Scrolls to Dragon Age. DA plays like a narrative, with a dramatic structure and focuses on emotional tension and more fleshed out characters, while Elder Scrolls is more of a traditional RPG, focused on world exploration, non-linearity and customization. The kind of game you like more is a matter of personal preference.
@saygoodnightmanuel Say it... Dragon Age Origins is far better than Skyrim! Well, that's because I preffer the focus on the emotions and relations between companions much more than an open world. For me, it is more important the way a story is told and the way you go through it while choosing between different dialogue options. Anyway, Dragon Age 2 isn't that good.
Conclusion, in my opinion: Dragon Age Origins>Skyrim>Dragon Age 2.
@22LtSmash I have played both. I really enjoyed Skyrim but I definitely prefer Dragon Age as a whole. Remember it took a wide variety of races/classes to bring down the Archdemon - there is room for all tastes, and they can all co-exist. Apart from maybe mages & templars lol
@Rabinna Thanks! I'm a professional editor by day, so I'm used to working on this kind of stuff. I used After Effects for the special effects work. How about you? Do you edit?
@ALRUFF Well, you sure picked the right job! Not an editor myself, I'm a painter and looking to get into the entertainment industry though, mainly game design (illustration), but I've always had a thing for special effects. Been meaning to start teaching myself how to edit for the longest time, but there's always something in the way. :)
Omg lol -- I saw the boy cosplaying Anders at 2:11 and all I could think was, "Oh hey Anders, let me touch your pretty hair." +A+ Even when it is not him I still love him /strokes.
Stalking aside, great video. It's very well put together documentary. Pretty professional for a friendly video. ;)
I haven't even watched 2 minutes of this and I *love* it. The photo and videography are just fantastic and the commentary from the cosplayers was just great to hear. And I would like to say to Lane, if he's around to see this, love the Anders costume. Favorite character (more Awakenings, but still) but a fantastic job done by *all* involved. I love seeing more DA cosplay taking hold and hope to see more of it at the cons I attend!
@CopperPayne I'll make sure that Lane sees your comment! Anders is a controversial character and he'll be happy to know that he was someone's favorite. Plus I must say Lane always brings the lulz like Awakening!Anders did, so it was kind of a blend of both games. We had to make him promise not to accidentally the con, tho. XD
@ros1908 He's certainly turned into one, hasn't he? But yes, Awakening!Anders is one of my favorites, so thank you for passing it along! And, as you can, pass along to all theo ther cosplayers, too, that they did a fabulous job. I loved seeing all the different takes. And all the characters that aren't mains but are very iconic, too, like Carver and Shianni (as mentioned above). Look forward to seeing more!
@DamonicHorse Not as far as I know. I only got in touch with the BioWare folks a month or so before, and there's never been a Dragon Age event at Dragon*Con in the past. We are planning another for next year though and we'd love to have you!

@22LtSmash I leave you some numbers here from Metacritic (both PC version):
DA: Origins --> Critic Reviews (67): 91/100 --->User Score: 8.4 --- GOTY 2009
Skyrim --> Critic Reviews (30): 94/100 --->User Score: 8.2 --- GOTY 2011
Both games are great, that's an evidence. Anyway critic Reviews can lie, I preffer to trust in Users. Regardless, I preffer Dragon Age Origins.
