  • Very good,out to test

  • what about 93' and under does this style work to diagnos a problem? and does this work on other makes and models to or just cats thanks for the video it was very informative

  • It can work on other years/models....it is more of an outline on a basic way to test electrical componentes more based on Cats than other models. There were other makes/models of sleds/other 2-stroke toys that were based on the closed loop system and some were based on the open loop system throughout the 80's and I've read back in teh 70's also.

  • you say if it runs fine and it could be electrical (hand warmers lights ect..) could that mean the tts or kill switch key/teather?

  • yes. Watch some of my other Cat eletrical diagnosis videos.

  • What do I do when my 1994 ZR580 boggs? is it electrical and what do I check for? thanks so much...

  • View a few of my other videos. You need to be able to tell if it is an ignition issue or a switch issue. COuld be a bad ground, bad plug wire connection, your stator could be bad so you need to measure the ohms on it, it could even be a carb issue, clutching issue..I cna't diagnose without actually seeing/hearing it but use the eletrical diagnosis sheet I sent you to help walk through the process of diagnosing it.

  • I do run air filters on my sled. I just didn'thave them on during the video.

  • For those 2 guys out there looking at my CDI box/coil area, I just have the coils zip tied for now but there are holes in the "plate" where I do fasten them tightly using the factory bolts and spacers for the season.

  • Another way you could shut off an open ignition (the kind where you just unplug it and start it up) you could just plug the 4-way plug back in and use the key to shut it off. Just be aware that the exhaust heats up quickly by the plug area.

  • AG on Arcticchatdotcom stated: I carry a long jumper wire in my tool box that we use to kill the engine (1998+ Open ignition) and leave it connected when we stop for refreshments. When unplugging an open ignition or using the jumper wire on a closed ignition you also want to include the safety issues that when riding because there will be no way to shut off the engine.
