saw them do this at leuchars in '92 or '93. bout time they changed there routine. hell american air shows they have A-10's doing runs firing its main gun. now thats worth paying to see!
Not real bombs stupid.. it's fireworks or some kind of other materials, they WOULD NOT allow real bombs to go off, if that was a real bomb it would have more impact plus the radiation would kill you and not to forget the parts would go flying all over the place.
I live in biggin hill. These explosions were pyrotechnics set up in the ground before the aircraft flew over and detonated as they fly by... hence why the timing looks a bit off. They are not showing off the aircrafts bomb dropping capabilities, they are showing what it would look like from near the receiving end.
You absolute bunch of idiots - Do you think I didn't realise they are just pyrotechnics. I was having you on and funnily some of you reacted in a superb manner. Get yourself a sense of humour before the ticket to the airshow...my goodness your dull.
I was there,It's pyrotechnics programmed to go off as the planes passed,Do you really think they would use real bombs with all the spectators there, suppose the bombs never went off they would have to evacuate the entire area and that would be a nightmare.Great show though!!
Why is that Lancia? Have you seen it for real then.
I don't care what you think you may have seen. I know I saw genuine munitions dropped there and Cosford in June. There was shrapnel because I remember feeling several sharp pains around my ear when they hit the ground.
That was blatently real, the announcer said himself "thats what its like to be on the receiving end" so it must have been. Whats the point in faking it, he would be lying otherwise wouldn't he. The baastud.
my god, it must be real if the announcer said it! they're obviously just small explosives on the ground, remote controlled to go off when the tornados fly past. do you really think that, of all countries, the UK would allow real bombs to be dropped so close to spectators? dont make me laugh.
Are you kidding. why can't you just accept they're real munitions being dropped. You won't be getting in trouble for disgracing the actions of the organisers. The commentator confirmed the dirty deed and you could see white bomblets leaving the craft at high speed. If you listen closely a child repeats "that was real...that was real". We all know kids speak their minds. Solid evidence.
Nope, they are pyrotechnics, just look at the fireballs, they have small glowing blobs falling out og them, indicating, a liquid explosive, and really black smoke, this means it has to be some kind of oil based, probrably petrol, which is often used for fake 'bombs' at air shows, and just because a child says 'that was real' doesnt mean its true! ;)
Beleive me, if that was real munitions, the shrapnel released would have cut the crowd to pieces!
They were real for the sake of otters. Why set up a fake explosion - that would be false acusations wouldn't it - the argument being that this isn't what the tornado is capable of - they would be nothing but bloody load of lyers...and I would want a refun - listen to the child and watch the reaction of the crowd.
...i dont usually waste my time with people like you but u seem special.. very special so if u believe it was real then good for you, i guess you think that they use real boms in films as well or it wouldnt be an accurate / realistic picture. i would write a letter to the CO of what ever show it was and ask maybe then u will be told
How dare you. What is the term "people like you" supposed to mean cuunts124, you 'orrible little shit. "COOP124 IS BEING RACIST EVERYONE". I like how you can't spell correctly either. You drain on society. Films are real life aswell aren't they, fact. This situation was reality, why can't you just accept it.
bertyUK you complete muppet. The publicity prior to the event stated it was a simulation. They were small devices planted in the ground, detonated as the Tornados flew over. Do you really expect the RAF to drop bombs right next to the crowd?! Get real.
They used to do this sort of thing at North Weald, but usually it was WWII planes re-enacting attacks.

Wouldn't mind huffing those clouds of black smoke - I'll bet you could get pretty stoned off that stuff :)

1 the public liability insurance to throw real ordanance about would be prohibitive.
2 health and safety would not allow it.
3 the press would slate them if they did it .
and lastly all the false pyrotechnics were still probably cheaper than 1 real bomb
GROW A BRAIN YOU OMEABA AND TRY IF POSSIBLE TO WORK IT OUT !
