Meh. I found 6 to be just as overrated, if not MORE as 7 was in terms of what they both offered. I never saw what elitists saw in ff6. I played it and while it was certainly satisfying, way over praised in my eyes. Tell you the truth I thought 7 was far better than 6. However Final fantasy 4(or 2 in the states) kicks the crap out of both 6 and 7. That is what I call a REAL RPG

In the battle systems yes. I agree it's similar to all the other ff's. But that's to be expected since it is a final fantasy game. We're talking about the more mini games than other FF's and the materia system which allowed every character to utalize some sort of magical abilities(obviously depending on who you use, their stats differ). Chocobo breeding, interactive limit breaks, materia forging, has a Snow boarding game. Even has a option to throw money and weapons at enemies.
@melvoin Then again not all FF's were the first one to have a Chocobo breeding system. And not all FFhad a Materia fusing option as well. Not to mention all FF's had a "interactive limit break system" ff6 had something similar to that. But they weren't really "limit breaks" and before ff7' not all ff's had a ton of mini games like 7 did. All of which impacted the gameplay. Not to mention that not ALL ff's had the ability to breed different Chocobos with different traveling abilities.
All of which impacted...guess what...the gameplay of ff7. And since some of those concepts were brought over to ther ff's (for example the interactive limit break in ff8) on that aspect i'd it was somewhat revolutionary.
@melvoin So yeah in some ways it does play the same as the previous games. But in a lot of ways it doesn't. And those are things that Navgtr doesn't even focus on. They did the same with the Castlevania SOTN as well.
Fact is Navgtr is wrong in a LOT of ways. They don't cover other important and differing factors in a game. Which makes me question their crediblity. No wonder they're hated so much.

Final Fantasy 6 was far better than 7, Its just overated. Serious, what is so great about it. I didn't like playing it.

Meh. I found 6 to be just as overrated, if not MORE as 7 was in terms of what they both offered. I never saw what elitists saw in ff6. I played it and while it was certainly satisfying, way over praised in my eyes. Tell you the truth I thought 7 was far better than 6. However Final fantasy 4(or 2 in the states) kicks the crap out of both 6 and 7. That is what I call a REAL RPG

There really is nothing credible about Navgtr in any of their reviews. I mean even if we aren't talking about their idiotic ramblings on the ff7 review, there is plenty to call them out on. And they deserve their hatred in my eyes. They're no better than the Irate Gamer.

Not really. Beyond the fancy FMVs and pre-rendered backgrouds, it basically played the same as previous games in the series.

In the battle systems yes. I agree it's similar to all the other ff's. But that's to be expected since it is a final fantasy game. We're talking about the more mini games than other FF's and the materia system which allowed every character to utalize some sort of magical abilities(obviously depending on who you use, their stats differ). Chocobo breeding, interactive limit breaks, materia forging, has a Snow boarding game. Even has a option to throw money and weapons at enemies.

So? All the FF games have their quirks. FF6 had espers. FF5 had a job system.
There was nothing revolutionary about FF7's gameplay. The improved graphics and FMV were what made it popular in the western world.

@melvoin Then again not all FF's were the first one to have a Chocobo breeding system. And not all FFhad a Materia fusing option as well. Not to mention all FF's had a "interactive limit break system" ff6 had something similar to that. But they weren't really "limit breaks" and before ff7' not all ff's had a ton of mini games like 7 did. All of which impacted the gameplay. Not to mention that not ALL ff's had the ability to breed different Chocobos with different traveling abilities.

All of which impacted...guess what...the gameplay of ff7. And since some of those concepts were brought over to ther ff's (for example the interactive limit break in ff8) on that aspect i'd it was somewhat revolutionary.
Again Navgtr is wrong.

@melvoin So yeah in some ways it does play the same as the previous games. But in a lot of ways it doesn't. And those are things that Navgtr doesn't even focus on. They did the same with the Castlevania SOTN as well.
Fact is Navgtr is wrong in a LOT of ways. They don't cover other important and differing factors in a game. Which makes me question their crediblity. No wonder they're hated so much.

Okay, it's not as out-there as "breast cancer" and "Manneken Pis," but still, it's like he sent them a memo at the last minute telling them to paste some background music onto there, and typed a 6 instead of 7.
And that's not even that bad a mistake...it's just that the other two I mentioned pretty much speak for themselves.
