I was at this show. Loved it, but the reviews sucked because the reviewers didn't know the essence of a Josh Ritter show. This show was bona fide gold.
@knopfler720 I think the reason it got bad reviews is the same reason why I can't listen to Josh Ritter with most people. Some might call it bad taste or whatever, but I think music today is shunned if it displays any kind of vunerability. And this is to say that putting oneself into your own music means making yourself vunerable. Takes some balls to write/perform like this. Ayn's "Fountain Head" is an example of what I'm saying. Hope Josh is recognized for his talents and integrity one day
I dunno took me a week of playing it once a day to remember it without the lyrics sheet. But then again the words just flow off my tongue. It's one of my favorite Ritter song
Ah josh hes an amazin songwritter this is an amazin song! Iv seen hem loads but whenhe released The Animal Years he played Christ Church with a mad light show when he played this song I just had goose bumps! Cant describe was crazy!
i saw him as a warm up act for Joan Biaz, and when i walked away i remembered Ritter 10X more than Biaz (not to say she wasnt great because she was amazing (though rather cheekily she didnt play an encore))
he played an tribute to Johnny Cash totally acoustic, no electric at all, it was so moving and just amazing, id love to see him playing the UK soon, id kill for a front row ticket...
if he only improves (which he has in each album) he'll be better than Dylan, there is so much potential...

Thanks for recording this R! Spectacular show. Even from the second balcony, I've never been to such an amazing show.

It ain't Josh and the Boston Pops - it's Josh and superstar Alexander Velinzon!! Nice rapport, gentlemen.
