I wrote so many notes and ran this video through at least 6 times and now I'm simply too tired from all the time I wasted to actually try this build out. I really like how defensively postured it is and how it was clearly created to be able to be defensive and at a turn of a dime become incredibly offensive. 6:10 is the earliest 12 gate, 4-gate. If you scout a 10 or 11 gate then it's early but then you have that information so it changes everything.

@iplayvideogames1 I don't watch him regularly, but I've never seen day9 actually play a serious game...I've seen him play monobattles, but he just screws around. I could see why he wouldn't want to though, starcraft 2 is about knowledge AND skills. Having knowledge doesn't necessarily mean you have the skills, he would become under fire alot of serious criticism and doubt if he can't play the game as well as he can teach it.

Yes, this build is great, but it relies 100% on that your enemy won't do anything fishy. With no probe for scouting and skipping the first zealot you can just hope and pray, that he doesn't 2gate or even proxy 2gate...

I have horrible apm. Practiced it in a PvP against computer. Followed the build supply wise and as far as order I did things. I easily fought off the computer push it does early on. At this point I had an observer out and was chrono boosting a warp prism. I figured since when I push it would be good to have a proxy pylon. A warp prism can get somewhere before my units, warp in stalkers and more with the army to the enemy front door and warp in more. I like this build so far.

In other videos he said things like 'you don't need to micro this good, it depends on the league you are in' and 'it's a good strategy, no matter how bad you perform it, it will work'. Whereas in this vid, there is more pressure to it. You have to be exact and precise.

Awesome build day9!! I've very recently been toying around with how to counter a 4 gate but nothing that's as effective as this. And it's faster to start your 1st sentry before warp gate. Think about it, even if you do lose a few seconds, they are made up because you can make 2 units in 15 seconds (turning gate into warp+warping In unit)
