just to let you know highway 401 in toronto canada, runs from windsor to quebec has the most cars/rig's in north america in day.The most traffic you every seen in rush hour
i buy that it has the most cars in north america in a day because fro whatever reason toronto only has one freeway going through it while u.s. cities (4 of them having larger metros than toronto not including new york) have several large heavy traffic. la is 12 million metro, however there are many freeways that go through the area. that is what is so hell about toronto.
@seinfeld120 Umm i dont know what toronto you have been through but it has more than 1 freeway 401, 403, 404,, 407, 410, 427, 400, don valley parkway, gardnier, qew, and i guess you could include the allen, along with many multi lane cross town roads... do some research
401 is too dangerous now because it is over run with trucks! The average car driver now is just putting their life on the line every time they get on that horrible stretch of road.
You dont really mean this do you?Who cares what the average car driver thinks about the Highways in Ontario. The trucking industry pays for over 90% of the roads and the average motorist isnt capable of passing if they had to be retested again. You know as a truckdriver I want fewer trucks too that way the rates will sky rocket. We all know the railroads are useless.
What makes 401 so busy is that unlike a lot of cities in the U.S 401 is basically the only main route through so everyone that has to get across the city uses it. American cities have a lot of different interstate rountes you can use. Look at a map of Detroit or even Atlanta.
More than one third of Canadians rely on food banks each month . The survey also suggests almost eight per cent of users own their own homes, while 20 per cent have jobs or collect EI.
OAFB's Executive Director Katharine Schmidt said numbers went down from last year because some soup kitchens had to close for lack of resources, not because demand fell. She's calling on governments to increase access to EI, improve tax benefits and raise minimum wages.
The shots between 0:50-1:00 were of the Hamilton bound QEW near Evans Avenue/West Mall in Etobicoke. Not really an efficient way of going from Mississauga to Cornwall.
Wow, you spend way too much time around Toronto! :) I checked it, and you seem to be right. Those shots were filmed the evening before, when I was on my way to Mississauga. Naughty me to put them in this movie!
Dam you made me homesick again, Used to Drive Emergancy frieght for Al's Express 5 Years, Shuttle Express 4 Years, And Transfast 4 Years,Then I brokered out, Miss my old CVR, And Said Hello Old Friend At 401 And Kipling At Rush Hour 130pm Of the Friday of a long weekend.
Hey, if I could get personalized plates for my (fleet) truck, it would read "IH8 401"
'cause it's a pain in the seat, especialy after coming into the GTA after driving the western US on canadian roads... You can't even drive in peace at night. Ever tried a GTA-Montreal run at night?? You can't even relax, even less sqweeze into Timmi's for a cuppa!!
Cool video, I know the whole stretch you drove past. I live in Toronto, work in Mississauga and have been on that stretch of the 401 eastbound towards Montreal many times
Was that an ERB transport truck? Didn't catch the name on the trailer, but it was exactly like the International 9400 Eagle I drive for them... Cool filming, boring music.
Cool, Canada is a great country to drive in for the most part, lots of nice scenery and the roads are never too busy, except for around Toronto, of course.
Yes, the 401 can be real fun :). As far as why I am driving near Toronto (being Dutch and all), that's because I lived and worked in Canada for a year (as a truck driver for McConnell transport in Woodstock, NB). Had a great time and I would do it again any time :)
Ah, that's some very familiar scenery...not to far from home for me. Don't you love all that stop-and-go traffic? :D Hey, if you're from the Netherlands, why are you driving in Toronto area?
oye i drove a box truck into cornwall from north carolina. you aint kidding 401 unless at midnight isnt easy to go fast on lol

The 401 has to be the most boring highway to drive on.From Toronto to Windsor you see nothing but farmland.
