If you are like me, you will NEVER find the perfect sound. I always like "the other guys' tone", and it sound like you are smitten by the same bug :)

BTW, I am using a Fender Twin with Ibanez Tube Screamer on an 89' Strat w/ Fender Texas Special pickups.

Maybe some thicker strings would do the trick?

They definately make you sound better, and since your hand get's stronger adapting to the new gauges your playing will also improve. Just a friendly tip from a guitarist to a guitarist, nice job on this song you did it justice. It's not easy!

You should definatley try the EMG's I have a set of EMG's in my warmoth strat and my dad who has been playing for over 40 years thinks there the best pickups he has ever heard and with the strat presance controls as well the on the gilmour plate it should sound great.

I finally installed DG-20's on my 89' Strat. I cannot believe how great they sound. The guys at the guitar shop made it sound like they were having orgasms when they used them. I now see why. It has created a new problem where I must try and reconcile using my Fulltone OCD overdrive pedal with it in my effects chain. The DG-20s sound great doing solos without any additional punch or effects.

I have to throttle down the settings dramatically on my OCD while using these pickups.

as sorry as I can be, but this version is not even close to carlos santana. There are a lot of little fast, almost unhearable fills in this song and he did not even play them. These fills are everything santana is about. The rest of the song is something everybody can play with a little practice. Sorry dude, but this is not more tha 2 stars
