  • Theres a little bowerbird in all of us...

  • what him said ? please, tell me >< i'm not smart for english. TT

  • @eennapusful The main message of the video is this: The bird in the video is a boy bowerbird. Bowerbirds build houses out of sticks, find things they think are pretty in the forest, and put them around the house. Every bird thinks different things are pretty. The boy bird does this to make a girl bird like him.

I hope this helps, or that someone who speaks your language can help you. =)

  • Awesome. The hard work from this bird is so important because how well he does determines if he will attract a mate to carry on his genes

  • Pode alguém não gostar de algo assim ? .. 8)

  • all i gotta say is wow!

  • Bird works harder than I do to get laid...

  • beauty.. Beautyer Beautyest...

  • I have watched Sir David Attenborough for over 50 years and never cease to be amazed at what he has given us. Now I am a lot older understand the affinity he with all animals. This is a wonderful clip of the bowerbird.

  • three letters ...... OCD

  • soooo cute!!

  • these guys don't get much reward for their awesome houses. they put a ton of work into a literal pimp house, and if the lady thinks it's good, they party for about thirty seconds and be done with it.

  • guy garvey sent me here

  • MTV Cribs: The Bowerbird

  • I have some friends that could learn a few things from these birds. "clean up your nest"!

  • @nharveyrep It's not a nest. The female doesn't lay the eggs in the bower...

  • So it's a bird with ocd :P

  • awwww so cute :)

  • Oh what a beautiful self made palace but where is the companion?

  • @TheMustafasingapore - The building of the nest is all in preparation for attracting a mate. After he's got his mate he stops working and she takes over the housework.......sounds like another species I know.

  • The bird kingdom's OCD

  • Minecraft for birds.

  • Can birds fly in the rain? Because sometime their feathers get wet and when my pillow goes in the wash and the feathers get wet they all clump together so do birds do that too?

  • Dude... new MMO idea.

    Everyone plays as a Bowerbird.

And you strive to have the biggest collection of stuff ever, in the most organized piles you can manage.

It totally works! Most gamers are probably already taught kleptomania tendencies in games. Make an MMO to play on that!

  • Hey bbc worldwide... How about a version that isn't a blurry mess because of the utterly shit 240p quality?

  • You know? each time you try to watch a clip of David Attenborough's wildlife programmes on YouTube, (or any other scientific documentary clip), these ANNOYING and stubborn ads always seem to get in the way, even if you keep pressing the F5 button to restart the clip!

  • this was absolutely amazing to watch!!!

  • damn, that bird reallly wants to get laid

  • @mellamosean hahahahahhhaha

  • Little did they know that the bowerbird was not trying to impress other potential mates, but trying to impress David Attenborough.

  • Holli eats poop

  • simply amazing:):):)

  • hope my boyfriend will be equally dedicated

  • i wish my bf wud go through that much trouble 2 seduce me :/

  • @Rockygurl117

I will build a bigger pile of berries and orange leaves than your bf could ever imagine!

  • @mellamosean lol i cud only imagine

  • that bird is like FOCUSED

bird: everything has to be perfect if im gonna get laid tonight

  • i wonder what ppl thought before they discovered that the bird was trying to get his game on? :D

  • We should hire that bird to rebuild World Trade Center since our politicians weren't able to do it in 10 years... ;-\

  • an interior designer bird!!! XD

  • if we could all be like this humble bird this planet would be heaven.

  • What pink flowers are those

  • This bird is a genius architect, no wonder he gets the ladies.

  • the bird knows more about decorating than i do.

  • That's the kind of bird that would shop at Pier 1.

    David is the best Attenborough!

  • Bellisimo!!! conoci este pajaro gracias al cuento La lengua de las mariposas de Manuel Rivas y me entró la curiosidad.

  • David Attenborough ROCKS!!!

  • that bird gots game!!

  • david attenborough....what an amazing human being...

  • damn, that's impressive.

  • That is so sweet!

  • Incredible. Also, I just read about how one species of Bower Bird uses a perspective based optical illusion to trick females into thinking he's bigger than he is:

  • This bird is a genius.

  • wow the most amazing part was that the BIRD put up those pillars! nature rocks

  • takin art lessons from this bird.

  • This is impressive and awesome.

  • this cant be real surely i mean building supports and arranging everything perfectly really

  • @david38823 That's right. It's all an elaborate hoax staged by the naturalists for the lulz.

  • Wow. If the bowerbird continues to be so smart, it would probably become the 2nd smartest creatures in the world just like how apes transformed into man, the 1st smartest creatures.

  • I can imagine that bird is just chilling behind a tree in a little pool sipping on wine.

  • Look at all of the time this male bowerbird spent on the interior decorating of his nest just to get a girl over. This is further proof that chicks LOVE dudes that are kinda gay...

  • Comment removed

  • Nature has amazing revelations... the creatures of this world are so wonderful! These birds just further illustrate how many artists there are out there that aren't human. Love it!

  • life is such an amazing blessing

  • At least the bower bird will work and build a home to attract his me, unlike some of these sorry ass men here in Milwaukee, WI who seek out women to take care of them. Institutiuonalized.

  • hahaha MythBusters!!!

  • Brilliant. Another story I've heard is that these birds bury their eggs in a compost heap - which they first build, and then the heat generated in this compost heap hatch the young bird. The male Bower bird inspects the heat in the compost heap daily by drilling holes into the area where the eggs are buried.

  • Cute!

  • Here's what's amazing: people think "Oh gee; we are so superior to other creatures on earth because we have learned to make and use tools!" which is, granted, a hallmark of intelligence. However, this BIRD has learned to use supports to keep up his little branches that he's ALSO using as a tool, to attract a female?! OF COURSE ANIMALS and insects use tools? What is a beehive? A tool for storing offspring and food! That's just ONE example! Humans aren't so great, by far....far, far, far!!!

  • @MsTimetowaste I couldn't have put it better myself. Don't forget ant nests, or termite mounds!

  • @MsTimetowaste We are all related on this planet. It's sad that religion has instilled a mindset of superiority and detachment to the world we live in. We are not that different....

  • @bio2020 this is a video about a fuckin bird, dont come in here with all that world peace shit

  • but what happens when it rains?

  • if I didn't see this movie and saw that thing in the wild jungle I would think "omg! tiny humans exist! this is one of their homes!"

  • they're artists by nature..

  • Dude this birds room is cleaner then mine!

  • That bird would be so heartbroken if Attenborough were to destroy its arrangement of treasures D:

  • @linkinpark9sc I dougt that he would do such a thing

  • i wished my sister would keep our bedroom this tidy...

  • OCD bird!

  • Bowerbird reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.

  • Those are some huge acorns.

  • Absolutely cool!

  • one of the amazing things is that it has an eye for taste and fashion!

  • "...For a bird with a passion for interior decoration." Amazing! If, for the sake of argument, a sentient species evolves from a bower bird-like species, imagine how beautiful their cities would be!

  • @TitoTheThird Are you saying this dude isn't sentient?

  • It builds a hut!

  • ten ptak mnie rozczula :)

  • i've found the creature i want to be when i die.

  • I AM BOWERBIRDMAN!!!!!!!!

  • I rather marry to a bower bird

  • I wonder what bower birds would accept for dowry...

  • I can't even build a gingerbread house.

  • What an incredible man.

I am involved in a team-building creative problem solving program called Destination Imagination. Last year, we were to structure a skit around an animal which was amazing in some quality. We chose the bowerbird and used this video as a major reference. We gave special thanks to David Attenborough.

    What an incredible man.

  • I remember reading about this in a child's animal book and didn't think it possible.

  • the natural architect

  • What the cameraman didn't catch on film was the bowerbird asking David Attenborough if he could borrow his Marvin Gaye cassette tapes.

  • @BWaygal117 Sweet! LoL!

  • @BWaygal117 you mean.. 'bower' his tape? :)

  • @BWaygal117 Laugh my bloody off at that! :O)

  • wont other animal or creature try to eat the acorn or the flowers?

  • "Pimp My Bower". Man I wish this bird was my flatmate, we'd be scoring all the chicks!!

  • totally cute :D

  • Ho, that bird could learn to be an archetect with a bigger brain.

  • I.M. Pei has nothing on this bower bird I think. I'd enjoy living in this house (er a larger version) than anything by Pei.

  • I love those pillars too

  • just seeing those two supporting pillars at 0.35 blew me away!!

  • Excellent video.-

  • This is SO COOL!! Have you seen these little sticks, that it used as pillars??!! Incredible!

  • The term "bird brain" does not apply here. Incredible.

  • cool and charming.

  • damn ther better architects than me

  • birds must be nature's best architects. LOVE the 2 little columns propping up the roof!

  • this might possibly the only species of gay bird!

  • LMAO.

  • perhaps that is why I am so attracted to it...

  • Bird is such a living thing with characteristic of art. What has this bird done for his life partner! Amazing work!

  • Hmm, when can that bird come and fix my house? I think I could do with an interior designer of its quality.

  • Wow!!! This bird can think. i love the flower he pick. lol

  • One of my favourite Attenborough moments ever! I couldn't get over that it used 'PILLARS' for supporting that roof. I'm so impressed, what an amazing little species.

  • Klepto bird

  • amazing !

  • Wow fly what a man, a pink man. (lol)

  • haha!

What a perfectionist... rearranging everything until it's just right to woo a female =)!

    He'd make a great interior designer =P.

  • Awesome! If I was a female bowerbird, I would totally mate with you, dude.

  • ha ha , i would have to agree!!
