  • MICK JAGGER is one cool muthafucker

  • @mikeydread62 guy in red jump suit is a better man you'll ever be

  • Mannish Boy it is

  • Awesome

  • Mick should have done just a smidge more coke before going on. He seems a little sedate.

  • Comment removed

  • *sigh* he's always gonna be a skinny, weird-looking white boy, I don't care if he's playing with Muddy Waters or not.

  • sorry mick...you just ain't got it..you .better sing that stones popmusic

  • The Stones love and respect Muddy and it comes through in this killer song! Thank you for posting!

  • Now thats music history in the making right there

  • I believe the song is called mannish boy....

  • I believe the song is called mannish boy..........

  • Muddy's cool as a cucumber

  • I LOVE MICK JAGGER

  • totaal agree .

  • excellent!!

  • Kieth playing with his hero. Jagger singing to his (himself).

  • @paco777771 You're a Keith's sheep ? I think both play with their hero ! I love keith but recently I see that many of his fans are completely intolerant and insulting towards Mick! So I began to have less sympathy for Keith and more for Mick.

Sorry for my english... and long live to the rolling stones !

  • @Keithmebaby "Keith's sheep," I don't know about that, but I do feel that he was the true driving force behind The Stones. Mick should get credit for taking care of the business side of it...and, of course, for shaking his skinny arse for all of those teenyboppers!

  • Who's that idiot in the red jump suit?

  • @mikeydread62 lol Thats Mick stoned as a rolling stone!

  • @mikeydread62 That's Mick Jagger....

  • This is from the now defunct checkerboard lounge in Chicago..

    Been there sorry its gone.

  • everyone should watch 'Cadillac records', its a great film and a great portrayal of muddy waters! (and the rolling stones make a nice cameo too) :D

  • ok ! 100 %

  • mick adds an element to the blues to bring it into a fully liberating experience, which is femininity -- no fear of being a tad gay

that's why he's one of the few white guy who can pull it off

he dipped his peanut butter into their chocolate and the result is new and exciting

  • You can sing this song only if you're black..what a voice!

  • @gabritop You can only sing this song if you have your heart into it. Black, orange, blue or white!

  • jagger didnt have time to take his pajamas off

  • God dammit .. it gives me fookin' CHILLS

  • this is the bluesiest 2 minutes and six seconds in existence

  • look at mo-fo micky

  • It's actually called "Mannish Boy"

  • thank you chess

  • the name of the song is manish boy

  • Did you all know that... Mick jagger once declared in an intervieuw that they named the band after the song "rollin`stone ,, by Muddy? :D

  • I can't see no black or white man, no one is better or worst...Just men doing their own things and doing it bloody well!

  • Whats the jerk i sport suit doin there?

  • Jagger acts like Junior Wells

  • a white man just can't sing blues like a black man can. Don't get me wrong, I'm white myself, but I never heard a white man sing the blues like muddy

  • Perfect binomial!

  • Perfect benomial!

  • Twards the end thank God Mick ass finally put some stank on it instead of bullshitin. Good ol Rock-N-Blues (:-D

  • nah man Muddy was enjoying it. He's like hey this hollywood kid actually knows my lyrics. :)

  • They were just jammin man. They really weren't worried about what it totally sounded like. It was like we were privlidged in watching them rehearse in a garage or something. I thought it was cool. What alot of people don't realize is that blues had a serious influence on rock n roll.

  • They were just jammin man. They really weren't worried about what it totally sounded like.

  • Muddy was close to the grave here,,,,,and someone was so far from the blues!I ve got the full gig on tape, and if you watch on for about 10 minutes .You ll also see the rest of stones smug smiles wiped away as Buddy Guy looms up behind them to put them in the shade!

  • Muddy Waters is fathoms deeper than that poncing and mincing, dandy little nitwit,Sir Mick.

  • Who sits in their bedroom and actually has the nerve to insult Mick Jagger! Really? Of course Mick Jaggers vocals don't stand up to Muddy Waters, neither do Eric Clapton's, Dave Gilmore's or John Lennon's. Anyone else want to state the frekkin obvious!!!!!!! Let me explain! Muddy Waters has a fantastically strong voice so he does make Jagger sound thin. He would make most singers on the planet sound thin........but are you really gonna slag off Mick Jagger that co-wrote 'Sticky Fingers'.........

  • i just love mick jagger

  • Saw the Stones (Keith and Mick) late once night at the Checkerboard sometime around '89....very cool. Never got to see Muddy live.

  • The name of the song is "Mannish Boy." ; ^ )

  • @MuddyG Name "Hoochie Coochie man"

  • Love Keith and Ron in the background :D

  • Can't have Rock without the Blues, baby.

  • flame Mick Jagger all you want, but we have to admit most of us would never have heard Muddy Waters if it had not been for the Rolling Stones' admiration of him and his music. I see in this video that Mick is a true Muddy fan. and having fun with it. Why not?

  • jagger on cocaine as obviously, muddy is a legend!! that music never vaporize

  • sublime cette version magique cette video du pur du bon du vrai !! LA CLASSE

  • Jagger obviously was trying too hard to be "Jagger" and not trying to make good music.. Band was tight though.

  • come on mick jagger is a rock legend

    ain't blues

  • The father and her sons

  • Rollin' Stone !!!

  • Truly this is one of a kind.

The boys meet their hero! Let's not forget what Keith, Mick and the Stones owe to him and they know it. They knew it then, too.

Mick ... well ... he's more insecure than he has to be, but too much in awe, I guess, because of Muddy. Muddy's like the father of the Stones, right?!

  • But way back then, Mick was very much more into the 80ies stuff. And I say, that's why he kinda missed it with his vocals. He should've played the harp, then there would be no doubt left. Keith here is the true deciple of the master.

If you want, try listening to "I'm a Man" from the Love You Live Album, the El Mocambo side. You'll hear, what Mick could do.

  • What year is this from? Muddy Waters died in 83 I think. It probably wasn't very long before that.

  • This is really awesome.

  • Lovely to see Muddy in total control with his apprentices (who are also cool). 'I hear you son,'at 1.33- hilarious! thanks for posting

  • hell yeah! good shit good shit indeed!

  • Watch my harmonica version of this great song. It´s on my youtube site, just click the blue link HakanEhn. Enjoy!

  • Mick had not yet learned you can't do the blues when you are hyped up. You got to settle down and get deep down inside yourself. Just look at Muddy, sitting there all cool and mellow.

  • @flintstone9812 don't worry about mick he knows how to sign the blues! he's just having fun with one of his idol

  • @flintstone9812 dont worry about mick he knows how to sing the blues,he's just having fun with his idol

  • jagger sucks sooooooooooo much!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @izzydunne You are 100% correct.

  • @izzydunne Agreed

  • i like the most muddy waters

  • i love mick...but he is so outclassed here.

  • @bradkava You summed it up well.

  • Can´t be better.

Saw stones couple of times in the early 70:ties

  • the stones not to proud to take some lessons i see, great, tres bien!

  • now i'm a man! YEAHHHH!

  • this kicks major blues ass!

  • Mick Jagger is a shit.

  • Jagger looks less like a man and more like a kid compared to Muddy Waters.

  • The name of the song is Mannish Boy, not I'm a Man.

  • hey vindicut your right its amazing how god damn bad these cats sound with a real blues man, just shows how great mr winter is

    rocknroll

  • This is blues, not sad but great!.

  • Ya no offense to any Jagger fans but he kinda made it sound & look like karaoke night at the local bar lol.

  • of course boy they are a bar , this not a big concert, the are improvising, like the blues must be made and like the rolling stones played in early 60...

  • @Yosimar THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS VIDEO SO COOL, THE BLUES ARE MOST AT HOME IN SMALL VENUES, SMOKE FILLED AND A LITTLE BIT SEEDY, THAT'S WHERE THEY WERE BORN

  • @Vindicut

Yeah... I love Jagger but be quiet and listen to the elder statesman of blues here... Muddy is THE MAN

  • @Vindicut I see your point. But even if you are big. You need to keep it real ;)

  • @Vindicut LOL!

  • @Vindicut i second that

  • @Vindicut lol he is a bit weird there but it's a cool dvd

  • @Vindicut You're absolutely right-t hey're such a big contrast!

  • @Vindicut and what if i say singing is the same as karaoke, and yeah it looks like its a local bar, but thats the less important in music, where to do it..

  • @Vindicut you should probably stab pens through both of your ears right now and never listen to music again

  • @Vindicut ahahahahahahahahaha that made me laugh out loud hard enough to wake my sister up in the other room

  • @Vindicut You're absolutely right:) All the band members are dressed like Muddy Waters, just Mick wears that sports clothes.

  • godddd,, it is music

  • Muddy waters is so cute. ^_^

  • LOVE IT

  • oh and go look up Rolling Stones and Muddy Waters' Chicago Blues somewhere.

i got the file from a friend.

1 hour and 22 minutes of jamming between them.

that was one heck of a journey.

  • it's amazing to hear lol, not great tho to watch jagger overdoing it standing up tho lol.

  • he probably so high he didn't know he was doing it

  • OK, but his version with Johnny Winter is far better.

  • You're right, but 'Mannish boy' is just the same song as 'I'm a man'. It's always the problem with songs when the chorus is not the same as the title. Somewhen it's just melting.

  • stones aint the kings of rock and roll

  • Chuck Berry is the king of rock and roll, at least to me

  • @stringsx , every one has his taste of music

  • isnt this "mannish boy"?

    also covered by hendrix..

  • great song

  • The Father of Rock & Roll Live.... No One ever like Mr. Muddy Waters ever before or after.

  • I enjoyed Cadillac Records quite a lot, despite the fact that they abridged the story terribly and changed lots of facts to goose up the story (Little Walter's death most notably). Beyonce comes off rather dimmly uninformed in interviews, but i thought she was good in the film, though not much like the real Etta. Not really a fan of Beyonce much, but damn! She is one hawt gurl! My fave Howlin' Wolf was played very well I thought by Eamonn Walker. Leanord Chess didn't look one bit like Brody.

  • Genuine !!!!!!!!!!! Muddy Waters.......

  • ☺

  • You guys HAVE to see cadillac records, tells an AMAZING story of how Muddy's career started and the first label he and the Stones were signed to

  • Beyonce is in Cadillac Records so I'll just read the music history books instead.

  • See that's a common misconception with the movie and the same reason my sister doesnt wanna c it. She doesnt have much of a part in it AT ALL. The movie is about Muddy Waters, Lyn Chess, and Little Walter. Or Jeffery Wright, Adrian Brody, and Columbus Short. You forget beyonce was even in the movie. lol so if u want, go see it

  • The way they hyped the movie, you'd think she was carrying it. What a load of misdirect on the studio's part. Beyonce is not a good actress and I've never been into her music or her hype from day one. Thanks for the info on her part, maybe I can tolerate her enough to get through it. It makes me wonder now that if your sister didn't wnat to see it and I didn't want to see if because of her, just imagine the number of people who missed it because of Beyonce.

  • Lmao, I didnt want to see it at first because of her too! But my girlfriend made me watch it, now it's one of my favorite movies. I agree with her being a horrible actress though. And don't really dig her music that much. The reason the studio threw her in the previews like that is bcuz she's the exec. producer. and ur welcome my friend. if u c it, let me know what u think. And ur rite, lots of ppl dnt wanna c it bcuz of her. lol

  • So, as exec prod she whored herself out. Other better actors turned producers/directors like Clint Eastwood don't need to whore themselves out for the fame like she does. Let the work speak for itself instead of relying on your marginal talents to pimp yourself, Beyonce. And yes, women will make you see stuff that you have no interest in seeing although, I must admit that I do have the movie, The Notebook, in my DVD collection. Cue the P-whipped sound effect please.

  • Lol, I was forced to watch that one too! Made me laugh tho, but I got her back by making her watch transformers like 3 times. But yeah, she whored herself out, she did have one good scene in the movie, but she was high off her ass. lol

  • Regardless of whether you like Beyonce or not, the movie is EXCELLENT! I was skeptical at first too BUT I have to admit that it's one of the best music period movies I've seen. Let me just put it to you this way...If you've seen The Stax Records Story, then you'll love and respect Cadillac Records. She plays Etta James in such a dark way that you'll soon forget that it's Beyonce.

  • I have a healthy respect for the musicians of the era and know what they went through. In fact, I wrote a screenplay of the full life of Jimi Hendrix and the people he performed with. The research was full and to see these artist get screwed out of their rights is one thing. The Beyonce thing, not for me. I know of the real Etta's story, drugs, sex, etc. oh, and I'm from Houston so I am familiar with some of the details of what the public don't know about the Knowles during my stint in radio.

  • This is deliciious, reminds me of the time the Stones put up a "stones $2" sign in Canada, and if you saw it, they were playing that night at a neighborhood venue!! They like old blues, they are bluesmen

  • Stones were $2.50 at a major Venue in Chicago the Aire Crown Theater they paled all of 20 minutes. A friend of mine saw this video live at the Quiet Knight in Chicago with Muddy Waters or maybe it was 1978, I met Bruce Cockburn at the same Venue same year, small room upstairs next to the Belmont Ave "El Train station" in Chicago, North side, I dont think I want to see Caddillac records, maybe if they called it Chess records, yeah, Cadillac records sounds like Detroit

  • It's great when you hear the two different generations of bluesman coming together. The Stones really are just a blues band who got big, there was such a boogie to the song with Muddy originally, but Keith adds such as sleazy sound. IT'S AMAZING.

  • nice striptease music :)

  • you know mick jaggar meeting muddy waters was probly the best day of his life

  • Blessed are the humble, for they shall see the face of God

  • well yeah since muddy got them started way back when they were young.

  • i think they was already signed ,just fans who their name from one of his songs

  • MAGIQUE MUDDY JAGGER , CE QU'on aime le plus ,la classe quoi ,que du bonheur !!!

  • Para mi es el ejemplo perfecto entre Rock & Roll y R & B !!!!

    Me fascina !!!

  • little history lesson, the rolling stones got there name from muddy waters song rolling stone. being so influence by the music the young brit group flew to chicago to record at chess records aka cadillac records, were muddy little walter howlin wolf and the other greats performed and worked.

  • Comment removed

  • This shows the heart and soul of Muddy and Muddy passing the gauntlet and Mick picking it up and doing is level best to show respect to one of his heros. goheadon This is the basis of the blues.

  • couldn't have said it better........yeeaaahhh!!

  • man mick is a total goof in this.

but to clear things up, all these wonderful blues songs went by different names at some point. I mean every bit of music ever is derivative, but things like this, you could call it shit bucket blues and it would still be total blues. When musicians talk about this song, we say Im a man.

  • you should just not talk

  • its also great when he plays with the band last waltz

  • the song is called mannish boy XD

  • muddy waters exelent canmtante de blues y the rolling stones muy buena compañia exelente video van muy bien.

  • Muddy (McKinnley Morganfield) we love you forever.

  • Pobre Mickey, es que el Moddy se sale....

  • Too short!

  • why's everyone hating on mick? that was awesome.

  • Jagger sucked in this...Fairly disappointing. But Muddy! Jeeeeeeeez, incredible.

  • I love this video. Jagger in 1981 is pure cheese, but he rocks. Muddy is the king. Also check out the stereoblaser version of this song on youtube. pretty funny.

  • if anybody is interested in this video i have this full concert from 1981 on dvd along with some really good small club date warm up shows like the double door club chicago 1997, palais club toronto 2002, marquee club paris 1971, mick jagger solo show 1992 nyc.other concert dvds from 70-80's available. springsteen, the who, kinks, talking heads, costello, csny etc.if interested please send message via youtube for details and full list.

  • thank you mick jagger for f-ing up this song

  • LMAOOOOOOO

  • jagger is trying too hard, he needs to relax. and is his shirt is a cross between a wind breaker jacket and a soccer jersey

  • Jagger is probably trying too hard because he's star struck by Muddy!

  • Muddy has more presence just sitting there than Jagger contorting and emoting.

  • lastima que no muestran la armonicista que es un groso tocando.aguante el blues y la armonica

  • tenia un pedo terrible Mick Jagger aparte de la merca que habra tomado.

  • it is very extra, there are greats singers !! the best is muddy of course ! greetings

  • Extra, merveilleux on en trouve plus des comme cela !!!!

  • Maybe in English?? I can't understand French, Sorry, blessings Elly

  • @SiberianLove1 he sais it s awesome, things like those are from another age
