it is sad that during the commi scare of the fiftys she made a comet to lady bird jonson. and was basicly ran out of of the states for nearly 15 years.
@patt1008 That wasn't in the fifties. Johnson became vice president in 61, became president after Kennedy was shot and then was elected in 64. Eartha's comments were anti war. The vietnam war was going on.
R.I.P. Goddess Cat I am suprise there is no bio movie streching forth her life. I am glad though because there is nobody that can be Erath Kitt but Eartha Kitt. The true icon.
As a teen, I fell in love with Eartha Kitt in this movie andI learned about W.C. Handy along the way..... thanks for posting. even the opening clip from Batman. wow,;-)
asi me gusta la puesta en escena.con el despliegue que dice de la valia del interprete.clase y puesta en escena.fantastico.esto ya no existe ni en la opera hoy en dia.
With the passing of Miss Kit the world is a sadder place. Like losing a star from the havens. A tear comes to my eyes every time I listen to this song. God bless and keep you in his care.
The part of the clip where she is singing at Carnegie Hall is from the Nat King Cole movie about the life of WC Handy, the Father of the Blues. Movie and song shown here are both "The Saint Louis Blues."
people PAY to have those hair styles now a days lol. I didn't even know Ms Kitt had died. What a disgrace it wasn't more widely broadcast. Such a legend!
does anyone have the whole movie to post? i love the part when billy preston plays the piano as mahalia jackson and pearl bailey sing Heist the window, Noah.!
Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I love this song and I can't find it anywhere else!!! Can you send it to me or do you have it posted somewhere so that I can download it?
Awesome! There is another song she does from earlier in the movie ...I believe....that is really enchanting. Thanks for posting this. If you have the other one can you post that too? Thanks.
"Hair raising bomb" LOL how cheesy!!! Eartha was always a brilliant albeit eccentric performer. RIP.

I just love it when she says: "Pin myself close to his side."
No one delivers a song like Miss Eartha. I'll miss her.
