Great song. And lyrics too. That's the aspect of at the drive in songs I like the most. Why ? Because I learned so many words listening to them. There probably is an accurate meaning behind each song...but I rather not know. It's so much better for me this way. Because everytime I come up with a different interpretation. Does anyone share this point of view ?
I cant even listen to the mars volta anymore...once i got atdi in my ears, i just shake my head whenever i hear a volta song :-/ it just doesnt compare
@jamjoe6314 i love both bands, it would be hard for me to pick one or the other, i hear thats things have been getting better w/ the guys in sparta, and possible talks about doing a show here and there, but that was a few months ago, things have been dead, news wise =(
I'm really not trying to be a wanker or anything, but the conversation was about labels. Between you and me it also irritates me when people put tags on things for clearer comprehension... but then I'm an opinionated asshole and lately I've been trying to relax and just accept that the one thing that makes all of us human is that we are all shit and given that I have no real right to rage too hard as I'm just as shit as everyone else.
Finally universal equality and fraternity has been realised
It is amazing how much cedric has improved vocally and musically. Don't get me wrong ATDI is the shiznit. But because I am a musician I seem to appreciate the amazing art TMV is putting out. The evolution of the lennon and mccartney (ced n omar) of our generation has been amazing to experience. True artist!! Yes, they are the new beatles, musically, in my opinion with the totally different stylee from anything anyone has put out.
@ReggaeMusic3 Dunno about the Beatles being totally different from anything else (at least if that's what you're implying by the comparison), there were many bands doing what the Beatles did long before they popularised it.
Don't get me wrong I love ATDI and the Beatles, but you can't look at music in a linear fashion, it's in a state of flux, renewal and collaboration.
@AwayinSpace People put labels on things because there are two sides of the brain, if we didn't have at least one part of it delineating and categorising our experiences with labels then we'd be unable to function at any level. Yes labels are arbitrary, as Nietzsche points out, the term leaf is used as a referent for a whole host of different objects and many bear little similarity to each other. But without labels/referents we'd be fucked.

I am pissed off that the cd I bought didn't include this song. But then I think, it was the year 2000... America wasn't ready for this shit.
So ahead of their time.

This is every bit as groovy as Nirvana and brutal as Slayer and progressive as Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd.

To clear up the listing of this track on which albums:
Originally it was only on the European/Australian release
Then the album was re-released in NA and included Catacombs, so now you can get it on the album in the NA version.
But anyways: These guys are fucking awesome, so much energy/emotion resonates from all their tunes

@Algydyce I'd say that music is much more than that, music can be absolutely anything at all. I don't know why people put labels on it.

@Algydyce I realise we need labels, but labels could include things like band names, not just genres. A name is a label.
