I am using Windows 7 and I did exactly shown in the video tutorial but after clicking the compress.bat, it is not showing the command prompt like yours while compressing @1.44. Command window disappears within a second. (I read the comments and I have kept my files in easy location only E:\video.mp4). Please help me :-(

Also it works for all versions of 32-bit compatible Windows, which includes Windows 7.

And to the guy claiming to compress a 5GB, he made that up. UHARC has a known limitation of 2GB for individual file size.

dude... ren doesn't convert a file to anything. It renames the file name.

Instead of making this pointlessly complicated why not just leave it uharc.exe which is how it originally was...

Yo just use WinUHA

just open WinUHA

locate the file or folder that you want

to be a small sized

then right click

click add selected compression ALZ-3(best)

Dictionary 1024kb

priority normal

then click ok

I put 4gb files and turn to 14mb file

I think this is the best command line for compression: a -aeH+S+ ed+ -md32768 -mm+ -op -y- -r+ It compressed Counter-Strike 1.6 (776,257,536 bytes) down to 285,650,944 bytes, and it only requires 58mb RAM.

I heard this command line gives better compression: a -r+ -ed- -pr -m3 -mm+ -md+ -md32768 -b4096 but I cant test it, because of my lack of RAM.

My AVI was a recording @ the method UNCOMRESSED. that means that if you compress it's mega good,

But if you compress a thing that's allready compressed, it isn't gonna work, To be short:

Depends on the compression of the codec.

If you try to compress a divx, it'll not work that good. Because the compression method of divx is quite good allready ;)

well you see, im not trying to compress a divx. I tried to compress an iso game of size 700mb and ended up with a size of 1.8 gb as a compressed file, which doesnt make any Sense to me at all. and the ratio was around 95%.

An ISO file is allready compressed. You have to see it like this:

If a file is compressed allready, you can't compress it more!

That wouldn't make any sense.

If you try that, the archiver tries to compress it. But it can't because it allready compressed.

So it makes the file larges than original!

You have to Unpack the ISO with Winrar or other Archiever and then compress it... but compressing games is fuc... hard work with 2000+ files :P
