How they ever let go of Les Binks is beyond me. Scott Travis is a helluva player...dave holland doesn't even get capital letters, say no more, but LES BINKS' playing especially his delicate accent work and ability to take a phenomenal drummer's work (Simon Phillips), respect it, and still make it his own, is unparalleled.

Iron Maiden, Sabbath/Ozzy, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, Scorpions and Metallica all have nominees for the best "regular metal" album of all time, but if I picked my #1 from a lead/rhythm guitar player's point of view, I narrow it down to 2 choices. Diary of a Madman/Ozzy or Ride the Lightning/Metallica.

The best Thrash Death Metal album of all time, I've always felt was an easy choice for many reasons. My choice is Slayer "Reign in Blood". Remember bands like Anthrax, etc were NOT "Death Metal", so don't be confused here. I've listened to just about every death metal band out there, with a commercial album and you know what I hear? Good musicians trying to copy Slayer songs!

@Boogyman4050 That album was ok but Show no Mercy was way better. Slayer isnt a very good band anyway very inconstant. South of heaven was one of the few 80s thrash albums that I fucking despise! Such shitty vocals but still not as horrendous as God hates us all. Also Death metal was around before Reign in blood if you consider demos by mantas/death and Warhammer, plus the first death thrash album was Seven Churches by Possessed which came out in 1985. I like that album better than R.I.B myself.

To pick a number 1 album of all time is just to much debate, but I'm sure we could all agree on which ones belong in the top 25 best "regular metal" albums of all time. Of the 3 great JP albums 2 of them belong in the top 25. Unleashed and S for Vengeance. I love British Steel, but I don't believe that album deserves to be in the top 25 of all time. Too many other albums are much better.

@Chronic70's...I've seen Priest 18 times and only 2 times did Halford sound this outstanding for the entire show. Yes, they did over dub the vocals, but who cares? I'm glad they did. The mix guys for this album were outstanding using 1979 equipment.

@Boogyman4050 I agree, it's almost humanly impossible to be outstanding in every show. However, 18 times is a small number compared to the number of shows Priest played on a Tour. I saw Priest a number of times as well and most of the concerts I attended, he wasn't too far off. People fail to understand that dubbing vocal tracks still involves the singer's vocal performance. Halford probably performed that part numerous times before the producer settled on which ones to sample. Your right.

The heck with Breaking the Law and You Got Another Thing Coming. This is the " BEST OF JUDAS PRIEST " on Unleashed in the East. I love this album so much, I'd probably screw it! Rob Halford's voice is super awesome (even for him) and Glen Tipton's/ Downing's awesome solos on this are at a Steve Vai level! I don't care if they sleep with gay aliens. This whole album is just freaking awesome!
