Actually, I know her personally -- her career came together when she stopped studying with voice teachers, and taught herself.

In all of her press I don't see any mention of who she's studied with. Certainly someone deserves some credit for teaching her to sing the way she does or at least for keeing her voice from the dumper where so many fine voices end up with bad teaching or being pushed beyond their development. It would be nice if she included that in her biography. I was a Metropolitan Opera Auditions winner and I can tell you no singer excels alone.
