This is similar to the notion (mainly brought about by advertisers) that any woman should be given gifts and treated as special on "Mothers Day", even if they aren't mothers :P
Why not give men paid maternity leave whether or not they have kids in that case? Six months off would be pretty sweet.
Most women don't understand where money comes from. They think that it just exists and should be given to them. The notion that money is based on work eludes them.
I always loved the women that would take "maternity leave" and then come back and either demand modifying their work schedules to fit into their breastfeeding (yes, that actually happened at a place I worked), or actually quit - notice they quit AFTER they get their free 6 months though....
You know I used to take the attitude that we should live and let live. That peoples political views were there own harmless business. But now I see how important socialism is to feminism, and it disgusts me. I truely hate socialism and I am PROUDLY right wing
It is a studied fact that women want to opt out of the workforce at thirty years of age. Now that they have forced their way into the workforce, demanded same money for less work, demand the work environment be changed to suit them and then claim six months off just demonstrates again they do not want to work, it obviously interferes with their social life..
Watched this yesterday and wanted to comment. People have been arguing for a while now that women want a substitute husband or father via the state. The evidence for this is now basically irrefutable and socialism is a means for them to achieve this. Women statistically vote in droves for the one who wants to give them the most. It is a major problem for a fully functioning and free society given that the state abuses this vote for its own expansive purposes.
I'm an MRA and think that Che Guevara and Fidel Castro are heros. The US corporations should not be able to exploit the Latin American people. The CIA employed methods like castration, on Latin American guerillas.
You know what will happen. All those women who don't yet have kids will take their maternity leave, and when they come back will find that their careers have stalled and they are now not paid as much as the guys or the women who didn't take 'maternity', and will start to shriek about glass ceilings and pay discrimination.
And then they'll have kids and want maternity leave for real. And will still expect equal pay etc. etc. etc.
@DeadJesusRodeo69 Okay, equal pay for equal work I get and support. But that already happens. How can a female Private that will never ever see active combat duty on the front lines reasonably expect to be paid the same as men that are being shot and blown up.
My bad, expecting feminists or even western women in general to be "reasonable".
I took maternity leave and went part time after I had a baby because my priorities changed. I have a child now. I didn't get paid during my leave and I knew I wouldn't make the same money when I cut my hours. But it was a choice I made, and I'm 100% ok with it! If a single woman doesn't want to work, fine, but why should she get paid, or be guaranteed a job after several weeks or months of...what? Self-medicating?
@missgilliantopaz - Exactly! Her body/Her choice should not be at the cost of her employer. If a woman chooses to have a baby with her partner then it's absurd to give her paid time off for it unless is her saved up vacation time or if she was smart enough to invest in short term disability (AFLAC) insurance for a few dollars each pay period.
Do you ever read a story so crazy it renders you speechless and you get the strong urge to bang your head repeatedly against a wall? This is one of those times...
@pinegrove33 In fact, there should also be a paternity leave so that the father would be able to help his wife raise the child. Sadly, I rarely see that.
@spellbreakerko That would then become "female leave". Because, I can assure you men would not be entitles to "maternity leave" but instead expected to pick up the slack and make the money to pay for these "empowered womyns" vacations. Yes, vacations let's call it what it is a paid vacation for no reason other than being born with internal sex organs.
The timing of this article really explains the mentality of these women. The economy is in the dump, but employers should be obligated by law to do even MORE for women workers. I mean, why not burden businesses with even more obligations?
It doesn't even go into the fact that women and men are supposed to be treated equally by employers. Paid maternity leave is nothing but unearned income. Of course, it seems that unearned income is the holy grail to modern women.
Women sure don't want to work at all. But they still want to get paid.
I don't even agree with maternity leave for women who get pregnant.
In my opinion, such people have chosen family over career (which is fine), but then so long, you're gone. If an employer wishes to keep them on afterwards, whatever, but they shouldn't be strong armed by the government into financing their employees personal life choices.
@Razlo5000 - I think I said this too but you said it really good! Agreed 100%. But of course that's logic and makes sense and feminists are far from being logical or making any sense at all.
I sometimes wonder what would happen if the feminist movement and the liberals went unopposed. Perhaps we, as MRAs, could solve all our problems just by supporting them on everything. Let's allow them to socialize the system so much that it can't sustain itself and just collapses. Problem solved and bye-bye feminism and politics altogether! Imagine the mass chaos of a society suddenly without government, without laws, without rights, where anything and everything goes - murder, rape, theft!
@NautyKnight well, the system collapsing would probably mean that the government would simply pressgang more and more males into "public service" on their behalf
@pinegrove33 - I think most males in today's society would be up in arms against the government if they tried to conscript them into unpaid public service. I doubt many people (especially males) would want to serve a government that failed them so miserably by allowing socialism to collapse us into widespread poverty and mass chaos. I'm sure the rich would want the poor to protect them and their money but I doubt that would happen. I think most people would go around killing each other.
If you owned a company would you want to pay your female employees time off for their choice to have a baby? HELL NO! If she wants to take unpaid time off then that's not a problem. I'll reserve her job for 6 weeks (that's PLENTY of time for a woman to recover from pregnancy. I've seen my ex-wife go through two of them!) But HELL NO a woman doesn't deserve to be paid by the government or her employer to be out off the job raising her newborn. That's what AFLAC (short term disability) is for.
@jenlokken If you would have had paid maternity leave you're family would have been set! Of course, you're still young. You could be like my grandma and have 8...think of the benefits had you been in Europe
wasnt it women who demand they should be allowed into the work force. now they want vagina leave for 6months? next they be complain that some man got hired over her. or the paygap.
@smoking1212 it really lifts the veil from the presumption that they're just like men when it comes to work. They aren't. For us it's a life and death matter.
Maternity leave for women not having babies, Absolutely Not! Maternity leave for women who are in fact having babies, Absolutely! For one thing, if you had a c-section, (1/3 of women do) you need some time to recover. They freakin cut you in half. Going to work the next day is simply not an option! Also, taking some time to bond with your baby should be permitted. In fact, fathers should get it too. Your wrong, there is paid leave in the US. I got 12wks paid, took additional time unpaid.
@td9red - The government can not force an employer to pay a woman to be at home with her baby. Some employers have perks or benefits that pay women their normal salary for a period of time while they're out, but that's pretty rare. Most maternity leave works just like FMLA. You can take the time off but the company doesn't pay you your salary to be off. They use your saved up leave to supplement your time off (if you have leave available). Otherwise you are carried leave without pay (LWOP).
@td9red - A few state governments do mandate employers pay women to be at home with their children - California (the land of socialism) being the main one. The Federal government can not force employers to pay it. So most states don't force employers to pay it either. I can't understand why any company should have to pay a woman any part of her salary for her personal choice to have a child. Her body/her choice should not be at the cost of her employer!
@td9red from wiki: "Only 4 countries have no national law mandating paid time off for new parents: Liberia, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland, and the United States. In the U.S., the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) mandates up to 12 weeks of (potentially unpaid) job-protected leave, including parental leave, for many American workers.Subnational laws also vary; for example the U.S. state of California does mandate paid family leave, including parental leave for same-sex partners."
@td9red then you're very lucky because most maternity leaves in the US are not paid. Also, the government does not mandate payment as it does in Europe
I actually like this. It would crash every bank and super corporation overnight. It would empower the smaller businesses, that are not forced to hire women, and help bring back democracy. It would suck for women though. No one would employ them, with the exception for the failing banks and supercorps. I suppose it is only fair, they popped the hole in the boat, they sink with the ship.
@chrixthegreat - It would suck for men just the same. Small companies don't pay jack compared to corporations and they usually don't offer shit for benefits. Also, who pays to support women in that case - men, with shitty paychecks!
@NautyKnight Large corporations force down the pay in small companies because they have the resources to undercut those companies. Before the supercorps really took power and the small business was more popular, there was a middle class. Not so anymore.Corporations will inevitably degrade society into a slave class, and a ruling class.Sure, you don't have the chance to make as much with a small business but it will produce a more even distribution of wealth and promote competition
I have to disagree with you Bernard. Having a baby is a choice. It is unilaterally a woman's choice, I might add. Any baby that is born in this day and age is born because a woman refused to take the bc pill, refused to take the morning after pill, or refused to put the baby up for adoption. Time allotted off of work is not the employer's problem. If I decide to go out and get drunk, should I be allowed to take a few days off because I chose to do that to myself?
You'd like my boss, Bern. She loathes the recent tidal wave of females into our profession and she appreciates my flexibility and industriousness. I'm proud to say that the only significant time I've taken off in my professional life was as I was dying in the hospital and then recovering from my brain damage at home.
Sickening. Why should an employer pay a woman because she chose to have children?
That's bad enough but to pay a woman maternity leave when she's not even having children is revolting. Why even call it maternity leave then? It should just be called something like "Women's Time" you're a woman? You want to be paid for not working just because you're female? Here you go, a paycheck for you. Money sucking leeches.
@theignoredgender - Most maternity leave doesn't pay anything. You can take your saved up leave from work (if you have any) and use that to supplement your income while you're out. It's just a law that mandates an employer allow a woman to take time off (unpaid) and reserve her job until she gets back due to child birth and to get adjusted to having a child - ex. Find a daycare provider. A few companies do have benefits that pay women to take time off and most also offer men the same benefit.
This comes as no surprise to me. Didn't we say that as the economic situation in the West deteriorates they'll double down on the Misandry? And what else can this blatant call for wealth transfer from Men to Women be called but a hatred for Men?
Perpetual mooches indeed, lazy cunts the lot of them.
@MaxSachs I didn't say that--"Didn't we say that as the economic situation in the West deteriorates they'll double down on the Misandry?" but i wish i did! as it appears to be entirely accurate
@pinegrove33 - (oops) Sorry Bernard! I know someone that goes by Bernie and I slipped up by calling you that. But yeah, the articles you've referenced for this inferno are dated back to Oct. 2009. I was wondering if this was still an issue in the UK? Of course the feminist mindset hasn't changed. It's been the same since 1970. It's all about what government can give women at the expense or neglect of men and boys.
hmm i did think it was not serious, but then these crazy people never surprize me anymore. the uk is the worst place for men to live, or sweden, or the usa, well im not sure. but man oh man. then some people want to claim mra's have no purpose. it seems obvious someone needs to say something about this, luckily captin bern is there to speak out!
but honestly id like to sit on my ass and have someone else work for me also, but hey anyone can realize easily that such a setup isnt containable,
Apparently, women don't want to work. They just want to get paid to sit on their ass and do nothing at all. Anyone else surprised from the self-entitled gender? They complained their way out of the kitchen and now they're complaining their way back in! Don't let the company door hit you on your soft feminine ass on the way out bitches!
@wormer104 - Sure I can. Do you know any men that have given birth and gone on maternity leave? The article stated 74% of WOMEN wanted to be paid to sit on their ass at home and collect paid maternity leave even when they haven't given birth. Even women that had given birth wanted non-mothers to get paid maternity leave as well. Something like 2/3rds of them 66%. A study was done on how many men in the US took paternity leave and it was less than 10%. Men enjoy working. It gives us purpose.
It's not so much that we enjoy working; it's more like we HAVE to work, but for different reasons. Some of us who work do actually like our jobs and enjoy working but the majority of us work to pay bills, support kids as well as work just to get out of the house and get a break from the wife's constant fucking nagging about leaving the toilet seat up.
Skipping aside the blatant sexism against men inherent in this, I don't see how they can tell that a woman isn't going to have children at some point. Weird.
This is similar to the notion (mainly brought about by advertisers) that any woman should be given gifts and treated as special on "Mothers Day", even if they aren't mothers :P

For some reason your videos seem to freeze up 10 seconds in lately, I can just hit play and they take off again (not a problem with slow loading)

@DontTread0nMe1776 i think that's YT specific, that happens to me sporadically when i try to play tunes. I find it annoying as well. I feel your pain

Bernie - These articles are like 2 years old!! Has something new come out in the UK!!??
NautyKnight 2 months ago
@NautyKnight not that i know of...but that mindset to me appears timeless, and my name is Bernard, not Bernie
pinegrove33 2 months ago
@pinegrove33 - (oops) Sorry Bernard! I know someone that goes by Bernie and I slipped up by calling you that. But yeah, the articles you've referenced for this inferno are dated back to Oct. 2009. I was wondering if this was still an issue in the UK? Of course the feminist mindset hasn't changed. It's been the same since 1970. It's all about what government can give women at the expense or neglect of men and boys.

hmm i did think it was not serious, but then these crazy people never surprize me anymore. the uk is the worst place for men to live, or sweden, or the usa, well im not sure. but man oh man. then some people want to claim mra's have no purpose. it seems obvious someone needs to say something about this, luckily captin bern is there to speak out!
but honestly id like to sit on my ass and have someone else work for me also, but hey anyone can realize easily that such a setup isnt containable,
MGsven 2 months ago
Apparently, women don't want to work. They just want to get paid to sit on their ass and do nothing at all. Anyone else surprised from the self-entitled gender? They complained their way out of the kitchen and now they're complaining their way back in! Don't let the company door hit you on your soft feminine ass on the way out bitches!

@NautyKnight Hmm I don't think you can pin that personallity trait on gender...
wormer104 2 months ago
@wormer104 - Sure I can. Do you know any men that have given birth and gone on maternity leave? The article stated 74% of WOMEN wanted to be paid to sit on their ass at home and collect paid maternity leave even when they haven't given birth. Even women that had given birth wanted non-mothers to get paid maternity leave as well. Something like 2/3rds of them 66%. A study was done on how many men in the US took paternity leave and it was less than 10%. Men enjoy working. It gives us purpose.
NautyKnight 2 months ago
@NautyKnight SOME men enjoy working as do some women.
You simply cannot consolidate those sorts of traits down to gender. It does not work.
wormer104 2 months ago
@NautyKnight
DoItYouWont100 2 months ago
@NautyKnight Now that I think about, that's kinda f*cked up.
Didn't women read men the riot act 30-40 years ago, when men said that we didn't want them to (have to) work.
Remember that episode of The Jeffersons? lol
That had to come from somewhere since it was on TV.

in this economic backdrop as well^^;those that don't wan't to work could find themselves replaced by somebody else who does....
PERFECTARYANBASTARD 2 months ago
This is just what the economy needs, lol.
Skipping aside the blatant sexism against men inherent in this, I don't see how they can tell that a woman isn't going to have children at some point. Weird.

@j1mmyZeta i know, one of the guys in the article said "this is not what we need during a recession," quite right
