first how loud is that running games without excessive heat? and another i have windows 7 with a dual core 2.8 ghz processor with 8 gb of ram 800 mhz gtx max core 55 260 vidoe card, western digital 7200 hhd and it is kinda slow which makes no sense and i dont like it lol any ideas?
@ Poster : Im new to installation PC components . Is that hard to like build up a PC , I mean installation, like putting components together , wire from motherboard to other stuffs ? or they all come with the manual ?
Its not hard at all. It only appears that way because it looks like a lot of wires but it's about 8 or 9 wires that have to be plugged into the MB the graphics card, the dvd ROM, the hard drives and then your fans and any additional component you install. I watched many videos and learned quick. Bought a case last year and decided to go for it and it was a success. Then I got the bug to build more and have built others for friends and family.
Hey I just bought the Mega Shadow heat sink for the MB its by Prolima. Its suppose to be as good as liquid cooling. Im building the new PC now and installing this on it. Will be done in about 2 weeks and will have a new PC youtube video to show.
THats an old video, you should look at the new ones. I dont have anymore Molex adapters and the pc has 1200 watts and GTX 295 Coop Edition. Sorry.....
Hi, it's me again, can I know how u OC the RAM to make it like the original speed of the RAM because mine downclock by itself from 1600 to 1333, my RAM r "CORSAIR TR3X6G1600C8D", I don't know how to make it to the same speed, since our mobo is the same, then I think u should know how to do it, I not that goood in OC. I m using EVEREST program n found the speed of the RAM, thx. :)
It's better now, check out my latest video, so it just went up. About $5,500. But it really has just about everything on the market worth having in it.
ok so you spent like 1,500 bucks on 3 gtx 285s then you spend another 2,000 for 4 barely better graphics cards...? then next year they wont even be the best
That's ok, I did do the cable management in a newer video, also have two GTX 295's Co-op edition in it now, along with a 1200 watt PSU. Check out the new video with Bench Marks I created 4 days ago.
I recently made additional changes to the system. I will make a new video soon. 2 new GTX 295's co-op edition. Also using Thermal Take 1200 psu. Thanks for the comment
Well my rig changed since then. I got the Ultimate 1100 Watts and I need more than that because I now have Quad Sli GTX 295's Co-op edition. So I recommend you get atleast 1100 to be safe.
I want you to call them and tell them what system Motherboard you are installing this to and they will tell you which one you will need. They are very helpful. Then you can write me back so I can give you my address. If you express ship it, I will have it in one day. If I send to you I will try to send it via 2 or 3 days.
Hi, I've tried to order online but it seem that there have a problem for it to ship to Malaysia, very sad about it, hoping that the IT store in my country had stock for it since this is the last part for my rig. :(
Well if it helps you, why dont you ship it to my address here in the states and then i can ship it from here to you. I can give you my address. You will have to have a little faith but also know I dont need two water blocks since the one I have is working perfectly. I would hate to see you hit a stumbling block because they dont ship to Malaysia. Its an option that atleast works in your favor.
The Asus Crosshair III Formula is not an i7 mobo and it is not as powerful at all. I have the Rampage II Extreme MoBo. Its one of the most powerful mobo on the planet. Probably second to none.
Watch the video it actually shows the name but here it is "Swiftech Apogee GTZ Ci7 Waterblock Code : apogee-gtz-ci7-93933Ci7 Price: $64.99" and the back plate Apogee GTZ Socket 1366 Hold Down Kit (Apogee-GTZ-Ci7)
Wasn't the Aquagate max cannot use on core i7 system? How do you do that? I also have the mobo like yours but I cannot find a suitable liquid cooling for it.
I bought the aquagate max and had to change the water block only and back plate. Very simple go to crazy pc . com and order the 1366 Swiftech water block and also back plate. I promise this is the solution. They sent it to me in one day. Plus you can speak to them over the phone to be sure youre getting the right piece.
Lots of people play Crisis or Wow, I use it for FSX flight simulator. It takes what I have and still wants more, so I keep feeding it. FSX is a beast so I had to create Dooms Day to deal with it.
Furthermore I have portable air conditioner I bought just to blow cold air directly into the case with the side panel off. It works. And needed because the gtx 285 run pretty hot and will show signs of it when under load.
For all of my fellow gamers, I am using a Corsair 850W power supply unit with my system and it's holding the 3 gtx 285's. But for the record I am going to upgrade to 1000W.

dude i almost have your same exact system except i have water cooled on all the harddrives 2 volicity raptorss 300gb 10000rpm and a 750gb to back them up, and water cooled on my gpu's and also a different case !!!
Im not sure if its the same pc. It does look similar to mine though. I am running the i7 965 Extreme Edition, Rampage II Extreme Mother Board, 2 Velociraptors 300 GBs, 3 GTX 285s, 850 watts, 12 gbs of Ram @ 1600 mhz.. I dont believe in going cheap on a PC. Its all or nothing. Save up the money and do it. Its worth it in the end. Im crazy I even bought an Air Conditioner just to blow cold air on the Cards and mother board even though the board is liquid cooled. But it worked.
Go to crazypc and get the swiftech water block and back plate adapter. I also just experimented and I have a portable Airconditioner about a foot away from the side panel blowing onto the cards, well the whole pc is feeling the effect and it is extremely effective in keeping the temps down.
Almost doesn't matter, both will destroy anything. Although I think three 285's perform a little better. And I always would tend to stay away from quad SLI because drivers aren't great.
Quad Sli causes microstuttering in some games which makes whats on screen flicker which i would imagine to be quite annoying. Apart from that though both of them will give around the same performance, with the 3 x 285's edging ahead slightly. As for the price i think the 285's would work out at about £900 and the Quad would work out at £750. So if you can handle the microstuttering which isnt that big of a deal it only affects some games, then I would probably go with the cheaper Quad setup.
It depends on the games. I use this for FSX Flight Sim. I'm probably going to buy the water cooled graphics cards though to stay cool. Heat seems to be a problem with the GTX cards and effects the graphics at a certain point. I will say that I scored 32,900 on 3DMark Vantage.
how much did it cost to do versus buying something similar direct (how much did you save)?
