I've heard that with the GT-10 there is a silent gap/delay when you switch to a different amp model. Does that ever become a troubling issue when in the middle of play? Because the new GT-100 that is coming out supposedly allows seamless switching between patches. I'm wondering just how much of a benefit that would be.
i've been having the gt10 for 2 years now and only used like lets say 3% of what it could do
i'm totally into manually mode right now, and it's awesome....i am checking all your v ids as they give me so much more insight on what this baby can do....i know it's all about rtfm...but...
I play music like U2 and Angels and Airwaves. and to be able to control effects such as delay, phaser/flanger rates is very important to me. Can you message me and tell me how you were able to set the function of the expression pedal to be "delay level"??? I spent hours in the store even reading the manual. couldnt figure it out. for the EXP PED SW ....DELAY is an option. but for the expression pedal itself only as i said in my last comment....WAH/PB/FV/+-octave/OFF. please help me on this.
THANK YOU. now i know it IS possible to control the delay (and other effects) level. I went into my local music store and tried for hours to get the expression pedal to CONTROL the delay level and couldn't figure it out. and in the manual it just seemed to say that you can only do that with the EXPRESSION PEDAL SWITCH. But i wanted to control it....not switch it on and off. How do you set it to do that? i went into the system assign settings. only assignable parametres are wah/pb/FV. im baffled
Great video series! Very well done, good audio quality and very informative. Guess I better start savin my pennies...you sold me on the GT 10. I hope Boss at least sent you a t-shirt, you've done them a serious favor and I'm sure that you've hellped them sell quite a few.
how do I get the expression pedal to increase and decrease the speed of the rotary effect? I did it on the GT 6, but I can't seem to get the GT 10 to do it. It would involve getting the Exp. pedal to control one of the effect parameters, in this case the speed of the rotary effect. - CX
Can you help me!! I NEED TO KNOW if each bank can have its own sound?? so like with no effects on can bank have a overdrive...and the other one is if the thing can be used in pedal mode like the me-70...that it can be 4 individual pedals..in this case it would be 4-6 different effects pleas help me this is the final thing i need to know before i but it!!!this is the the stuff that will assure me what i want!! thanks!!
i am with the guy further down, i own an engl savage so im not interested in affecting my amp sound as far as distortion goes i am ditching a tc electronics g-force cuz it totaly destroys the engl sound, but i would like to have some good effect choices and control could you do one explaining how to bypass the preamp?
hi i was wondering if you could help me by making an actual video showing how to set up the different types of pedals because im still confused on how to program them thanks
I just bought a Boss GT-10 myself but Im new to this pedalboard so I won't know how to use this effectively. I suppose this unit comes with a manual that can show me how to set it up and how to program different patch effects to bank and set up one after the other for live performance if you are doing sets of 5-6 songs per set on a 20-25 song repertoire (about 5-6 sets with a 20 minute break after each set. One set has 5-6 songs).
I think the Manual is very good. I figured out how to do it. How to bank and set the different patch effects I want to each bank and switching channels as well. It's takes a long time to set it up though. Took me over three hours to set up four banks for patches (1, 2, 3 and 4) and then bank a couple of riffs so I could solo over them. Yes, it's not easy but I think the GT 10 is better than buying a whole bunch of individual pedals because it will cost you thousands.
One thing I would do though is add a FS-6 dual footswitch , a Boss RE-20 Space Echo and an Airplane Flanger by Ibanez. That would be my stage gear set-up. Then I would get a Boss VE-20 Vocal Performer hooked up to the P.A. system mixing board for the vocals for harmonics, reverb and echo.
Yeah. Although i play is the studio my live set up is something like that. (im just entering the world of processors though and for the price they are definitely worth it. Im never again carrying around a stompbox pedal board if I can help it.
How about doing a video showing the step by step process of setting up the expression pedal to control an effect. I want to set up tremolo on the pedal to do the vibrato effects while playing Lenny by SRV. I am using a Tele so being able to control the tremolo effect with the pedal is a must.
great video. btw, when you record direct to pc, how do you playback your music? Whenever my gt-10 is hooked to my DAW, it pickups the gt-10s input signal, but when I playback the recorded tracks no sound comes out from my speakers. Is there a setting I need to change or something? Thanks
First off....Thanks for these very informative videos. I'd like to know it you have had any problems with hiss type noise. I seem to be have this problem. My rig is a Hughes & Kettner Switchblade head & Marshall slant cab. Axes are Fender Strat 25th anniv., Kramer Pacer Deluxe USA 1987. Laguna 322. When I plug straight into the amp there's no noise at all. When I hook up the GT-10 with the volume on the guitar off I get a hiss noise. I would like to see a demo of the GT-10 without the preamp.
i use mine to control a the midi chanel switching on my 3 channel all-tube, all analog combo. I run it using the 4 cable method...I have a midi controllable 4 relay, bypass system, so i can true-bypass the input of the gt-10, but still have time/mod fx going in my loop. I like it cause i can do that kind of stuff. I can move my fx chain anywhere around the send/return, to keep my tube signal as pure as possible. I like the para-EQ, i'll use it to shape my amps OD for tight rhythms.
I finally got my GT10, and I'm happy to say it has NO milli-second drop out for patch changes! This thing kicks-butt! Guitar volume dynanmics, FX tweakability, control options & flexibility, short of a Bradshaw Control system this is without a doubt the best thing available for us working stiffs. Please note, IMHO the manual is merely a technical document, it won't help you to apply it's possiblities to your live playing situations. Watch all of BOSSGTTEN's videos to get some real deal help. THX
Yeah i just got this multi effects board tonight and its very advanced i really like it it tons of effects and things i can do cant wait till i can master this thing but im still reading and looking through the manual great videos
I dig all of your vids and I trust your opinion. How fast is the preset change? I know Zoom says they're the fastest. But what really matters is how noticeble it is in the Band / Song context. Does it have that millisecond drop-out?
Can u do a part where you teach how to set up the noise supressor, that is a little complex on the pedalboard cuz' that's not on the EZ option. :) great vids!
Hi : Would you consider doing a video on how to plug the GT-10 in to bypass the pre- amp. Also, can you add other unique effects like the BK Butler Tube Driver that Eric Johnsons uses? Great videos , you should do the odd lesson for guitar also. You seem to be patient and methodical in your presentation.
i own the gt-8 and i always liked the delay u use at 4:43 and i cant seem to get it right could post which type of delay and how many seconds is it cus i really love that sound thanks for the great vids!
Great Videos. I was set to buy an X3 when I stumbled onto your vids. I drove 100 miles to Guitar Center and picked one up yesterday. It sounds great with any amp or setup I've tried. Way better than any of the half dozen L6 products I've owned. My Vetta died two weeks ago and now I don't care if they can fix it or not. This weekend will be stereo half stacks. Thanks for doing such a great job. I hope Roland has you on the payroll. Thanks.
these videos are really good.,i play in a 70s rock style band, but with solos of shred that need lots of gain,i was wondering,is this processer easy for channel switching and does it have any very hi sustain and gain channels?
Just curious, when you play the gt-10 through your marshall, do you use any specific presets for your amp's eq? I'm never sure whether set my treble, mids, and bass the way I normally would, or to keep them level instead and allow the gt-10 to do the rest.
when i use it with the marshall, I don't use the GT-10 preamps. I like my marshalls preamps better. However, I don't know how long I'll be using a tube amp. I've been running the GT through PA's for smaller gigs lately and it sounds fantastic. So, I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to lug the marhsall around. I might just keep it for recording and the bigger gigs (maybe)
Hey, I just got my GT 10 and I can't figure out how to control parameters with the expression pedal. I read the manual and I still can't figure out how to use the assign functions, any tips?

Hey great demos I saved up $400 for it so far thanks to your goading i actually was wondering if there was true amp modeling bypass if i could only have an effects chain like guitar -> distortion & w/e effect -> back straight out to amp with no eq and amp modeling or pickup modeling and also u can hav two effects on the expression pedal right? like when it's not clicked its volume and when its clicked its wah? thanks
yes, you can bypass the amp modeling completely and just use it for effects. as far as the exp pedal - yes you can do that and MANY more things with the pedals.
I have a question. I just decided to get a 10 instead of an 8. However, I was wondering if it has a smooth melodic swell sound (I've heard it called the "Whale Sound") It's really awesome. Does it?
