  • I've NEVER seen this man before, but now I love him. People can't help what body they're born in. What should it matter what's between your legs? SOME people have both sets of genitals. What about them, Obama the man who supports turning unborn children into omelettes and let peopl get married and divorced, do hermaphrodites not GET to marry? Are they a disgrace to God to? Apparently, says the man who says we have NOT just Christianity, yet is against all the people of the country who are gay.

  • Evil man!

  • this is beautiful

  • Who here knew that it is legal to marry your cousin in more states than marrying the same sex! See. That is why I live in Canada where you can marry whoever you want and we don't want everyone to be alike. Its called Multiculturalism.

  • @girlygirl0831 I ENVY YOUR WIDE-VARIETIED LIFE D8 <

  • @NeteNeteNe :)

  • its ashame we even talk about subjects like those, every person is a soul no matter if its a man or woman. mariage? marriage is a symbol of love between two people, symbol of love can be roses, poem or just saing i love you, people dont need marriage to love each other. If you pay attention to race or gender, it means you a hypocrit, be yourself and fight for the equal treatment for gender race or any physical difference soul isnt valued by physics.

I know i have spelling mistakes so dont bother

  • He's in a long term relationship that he treats like a marriage. He has a right to speak on the subject because he's worked hard to be a TV presenter/commentator, and therefore has a pulpit to use when he feels the need.

  • do you know her name? or just to elevate him to a status that he doesn't deserve and quite frankly, the majority of americans don't even care?

  • Nightfire: Do you need to be a chef to know if food is tasty or not? No. Do you need to be married to know whether the institution is a good one? No.

Since you were lazy, I look up her name (on Wikipedia) for you. She is Katy Tur. Learn how to do web searches!

  • ooo but a chef has that credibility to do so. while i support traditional marriage, i don't have the right redefine marriage ESPECIALLY since i'm not married myself.

on another note, it was recent that her name was finally put on there, otherwise i didn't even know he even had one in the first place.

  • Personally, all marriage is good for is tax cuts and adultery. However I know most people view marriage very differently than I do. Had I the chance to vote on Prop8, I definitely would have voted no. Regardless of religion, you have no right to push your beliefs on others. This is why the separation of church and state was issued. Though everyone with a WORKING brain realizes that church and state are still very much intertwined. Whether you believe in it or not, but you shouldnt limit someone.

  • Why does MSNBC fly our flag upside-down in their logo in the lower right corner?

  • its not upside down, its a banner type strip it just goes down diagonally.

  • malarkey.

  • Hate around the world will never end! It is a shame to see that alot of people (see comments below) just can't agree to disagree and let people live and love as they like! I am ashamed for humans around the world. WHAT IS IT TO YOU? A rightfully asked question. No wonder the never will be peace...

  • haha this guy is probably lying about him not knowing a single gay person

  • This is total b.s!!! Marriage is not a right .. it's a PRIVILEDGE!! And to compare this issue with the Civil Rights issues from the 60s is insulting!!!

  • To who? Have gays not been persecuted, hated, and denied rights? African Americans do not monopolize suffrage. As they themselves declared, "An injustice anywhere is an injustice anywhere." Gays are being secluded for being born with different genes. How is secluding them not a civil rights issue? (Gays are 7 times more likely to endure hate crimes by age 16 than any other minority. In case you are gauging struggle with violence.)

  • Thank you Keith, I couldn't agree more. *Hug*

  • Let me ask you good Christians, where do you think Homosexual`s come from? they come from you their your children grandchildren, sisters brothers ect!! so what your saying as a good christian! you want your family memebers live a lie be unhappy to make you happy and a good christian,

  • (cont)So who's poisoning your child's minds now? so stop being hypocritical by judging what others should be doing, when you yourself are the ones destroying not only your children but the "sanctity" of marriage, cause aperantly that was the big issue, this is the disappointment by far.

  • DONT Spread hate by saying we can't get married or that its wrong?! What most of those dysfunctional people are doing is wrong! The kids oh the kids!,the kids have absolutely nothing to do with any of this. By spreading hate you are teaching your children to grow up being like you, a hateful bigot piece of s***T.(cont)

  • Good for Keith Olbermann, this is really ridiculous that people feel that gay or lesbian people cannot have the right to marry just like the rest of us.

  • If this was all only about "love", no one would care either way. One side cloaks its argument in love and the other may well be bigoted. Perhaps the signs that said "Yes on 8" and "No on 8" should be re-posted to read "I'm afraid I might be gay" and "I want a tax break", respectively.

  • People talk about redefining marriage and sticking with "family values" but with the amount of messed up, heterosexual families raising children today and the amount of marriages ending in divorce, I really don't see anything so spectacular in the status quo that it's worth preserving in its exact form. If you're not gay, then gay marriage has nothing to do with you, so why are people so afraid?

  • As a non-gay,I "voted" in a church with regard to an update for the United Church of Canada, which

now accepts gay ministry and also gay marriage.

My feelings were along the same line, and it was because of religious comittment. Since I believe in reincarnation and karmic marriage, I felt that love would re-emerge wherever. Promiscuity in the gay world has escalated HIV+/AIDS infection, such that any religious or civic backing would be tastefully better for the sake of public health.

  • good point Sue!!

  • This cituation is one in witch in order to acept homosexuality, you have to tear the other side's belife, make their religion illegal and persecute them, so its a tray cituation, one side or the other. If youre a true christian and belive the bible, how do you go around the following text;

Romans 1:26-27: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another.

  • There isn't any higher level of promiscuity amongst gays than there is amongst straight people. In fact, I would argue that promiscuity is probably higher amongst single straight people. Especially those in college.

  • I wrote:

"Promiscuity in the gay world has escalated HIV+/AIDS infection".

I mentioned this world wide health concern because medical professionals have consistently mentioned a lack of concern for sexual health amongst gay partners, usuaully those more youthful Though I am not the statistician, I am certainly quoting not slander, but what appears to be general knowledge. Perhaps today gays are similarly concerned and way more interested in quality relationships

  • And the Oscar goes to...

  • BATHTUB BOY!!!!

  • Okay, again Mrs. McCloskey-you need to watch yourself and what you say and the assumptions you make in regards to you-tube comments. Calling me hateful and bigoted and "lacking in love" because of my opinion is just the same as me calling you ignorant, immoral and lacking in family values because you obviously support re-defining marriage. And YES I understand that Mr. Olberman was referring to to-the equalit of love. But I THOUGHT we were talking about the definitino of marriage here-not love.

  • LLindsey - I need to watch myself? Is that a threat?

I think someone needs a hug...and a reading tutor so you stop misunderstanding what I write.

  • I love my dog! :) I agree with you LLindsey12

  • Technically, the vote on Prop 8 was to re-define marriage. By the state constitution, marriage was between "two people" and the vote was to change that to a "man and a woman". The California Supreme Court simply upheld the wording of the state constituion, and told the public to change the wording if they wanted to on election day. At any rate, it seems that Mrsmccloskey was AGAINST re-defining marriage, while you were for it.

  • The mind is like a parachute, It doesn`t work unless it`s open, Can not help to wonder how you good christians would feel if the gay people stood together and demanded that your church`s tax`s exempt privilege`s be taken away from you, not one of us has the right to judges another. Is this not another one of your passage`s in the Bible,

  • Actually it says, do not Judge those who do as you do. Meaning, don't judge someone for something, if you are going to do the same thing.

Also, It says to tell others that they're are sinning, and there sins are taking them to hell...

Then again, homosexuality is not any worse then lying or eating pork...

It doesn't say that other people's sins will send you to hell, and gay marriage isn't even a sin...just gay acts(sorry had to say it).

So we shouldn't worry about what others do.

  • No need to be sorry , just not sure what bible your reading to come up with your comment,

  • Isnt it odd that 70% blacks joined alongside Mormons to vote agains Gay Marriage? Mormons/Blacks. How odd. The Mormon church didnt allow blacks to hold the priesthood until the Fed. Government said either end this discrimination or lose your tax exempt status. Suddenly, in the 1970's, blacks were then given the right to hold the priesthood. Yet, join with them to discriminate against those who have supported your race for equality for years. How sad. How hypocritical.

  • It has nothing to do with Mormons and blacks... they just both held the same views... So Episicipelion(sp?) and Catholics, they are all Christian so they all frown on it too...

  • Like Hell it doesnt. Read my remark again. Why would anyone side with a group who didnt view you as an equal, to descriminate against a group who always supported you?

  • Okay, Mrs. McCloskey- I was NOT referring to prop 8 but to THIS VIDEO. I am NOT from Utah (I live in New York City). I know EXACTLY what Prop 8 was- I was commenting on this video where Keith Olbermann said it was all about "love". So please, before you reply with your moronic, irrelevent insults re-read my comment what I was commenting about.

  • Poor LLindsey12, you should watch your blood pressure. Maybe if you were not so hateful you would see past your own rhetoric and see that Keith O. made a good point about the equality of love.

Maybe if you had a bit more love in your life you would understand. I feel very sorry for you.

  • LLindsey12, you are a genius. go ahead and marry your cousin/brother/car. obviously you have no idea what this proposition was or you wouldn't have made a comment like that.

prop 8 was meant as an amendment (like the one for free speech) to the California (so Utah peeps need to stay out) state constitution saying that marriage is only between a man and a woman, overturning a judicial edict from this year - hence, taking away rights that already exist for minorities. that's bigotry genius.

  • Great speech Keith 5*. I watch tv and see all the coverage of husband & wife murder suicides. Mother's drowning or murdering their children. Men beating their wives and kids. How is any of that sanctified? The religious right want to ban gay marriage but not divorce. They want their cake and be able to eat it too. What happened to seperation of church and state? What happened to the Bill of rights which states we are all created equal with inalienable rights? What happened to love for humanity?

  • I hated you until now. Thanks Keith.

  • Now regarding prop 8...I'm not gay. I'm not religious. I completely disagree with the Day of Silence thing that is quickly leaking into public schools. Nothing to do with tolerance. So educate me please....if we compromise and call it a civil union, what is wrong with that? That way we don't have to redefine the word. Call it something else.

  • Think of the concept of "Seperate but equal" and think about the difference between "Marriage" and "Civil Unions".

Besides which, Marriage, as a word, doesn't have to be redefined to allow for Gays to marry, anymore than it had to be redefined to allow Blacks to marry Whites, or to allow Chinese to marry Whites, et al...

  • Very well put skeptik59. I find it ironic that I'm a straight Christian advocate for gay marriage. To use a different term for 'Marriage' (Civil Union) for same sex couples is already implying that it's "inferior marriage" or "second stringer marriage". Anyone who disagrees with that sentiment is lying to themselves. It *is* the same thing, but to call it something different reinforces the loaded resentment behind it.

  • I agree with you, except that legally it's not the same thing. Legally, if one partner in a Civil Union passes away, that person's family has the right to divide their property however they see fit, not their partner. Unlike, of course, marriage.

  • if all the people with opposing views just fucked off.....ah, what a world!

  • Thanks Keith. We had better get on the side of love, if we know what is good for us. Gay people cover the full spectrum of morality, just like straight people.

The Pleiadians(see Billy Meier) claim we all choose our sex before birth. Some are confused and have a hard time making up their mind and as a result some choose incorrectly. The ones that make this mistake are the people we call gay.We place far too much emphasis on something that should be personal and accepted by all. Love all beings.

  • Wanting their children to be SAFE? Are you suggesting that gay people are dangerous? Or that learning about gay people is dangerous? If anything being ignorant is dangerous. Not having equal rights is dangerous. If you want kids to be safe they need to learn that discrimination such as this has not worked in the past and will not work now or ever in the future. Why do you care if there is gay marriage? Their happiness will never effect your life. So let them be happy.

  • And religion? What about separation of church and state? Nobody has any excuse to use religious texts to make decisions for anybody. And if you want to use religion as the basis of your argument what about that passage that says treat others as you would like to be treated. How would you feel if your country said you could not be married?

  • And even worse, what if not only said you couldn't get married, but that the marriage you legally entered into is now *not* legal?

  • Hey, I think i understand, it's like how people knew it was right to separate whites from marrying blacks!

You want to keep the children safe... though if they're gay, they're shit at out luck and may be in a world that excuse killing the gay people or punishing them.

I love your logic, it's so naive :)
