He plans to return to the show, with his son.

It is clear to me that this poor man suffers from some sort of mental illness (no I'm not being sarcastic) and I think it sucks that the producers of this show put him through all of this so that others could have a good laugh at his expense. You can clearly see the hurt on his face. And the audience were a pack of wankers.

Pretty sure this guy is somewhere on the autism spectrum, probably Asperger's. I don't mean this as an insult, of course - simply an observation. Hey calm down, i seriously think this guy is doing this as a joke I mean, just look at the books "How to play keyboard" "The complete keyboard player". He just wants to entertain and upset everyone who doesn't realize he's doing this for fun, and he succeeded!

This man was evidently failed by the so called 'Centre of Learning' that gave him his Diploma in music; Amanda and Simon were blatantly and evidently correct in their comment. Ergo, i'm sure that Piers only carried on his 'act' to spite Simon.
Plus, I looked up a video of him playing in what looks like his home. There's a nice piano in the background with (again, what looks like) a mound of sheet music on top. And I found a link to him on a UK Music Teachers site. It says he teaches theory, keyboard and piano. His qualifications are "GRADE 5 THEORY ABRMS" and "DIPLOMA IN PERFOMANCE OF MUSIC."
Again, I really believe that this man CAN play. His inability to play is an ACT! And a damn good one at that! The man deserves an Oscar! :)

This Guy is Ok but the timing is completely wrong. Check my channel and I play electronic Organ and Keyboard but I only have my organ videos there is my music teacher as well and he is great at playing. This Michael Maechell has a great keyboard but not a great way of playing it. That I know is one of the top of the PSR range of the time that this video was taken and this show was on.
Aww shame on that audience, barely giving him 10 seconds of happiness playing that keyboard. All you could hear in between notes were ''OFF'' and ''BOOOO''. He was never given a proper chance, poor guy.

The public is ignorant and mean. None of them would have the courage to come up in front of millions of people, and play the way he did.
Who cares if he played wrongly? Maybe it was supposed to be that way.
Shouting 'Off' is one of the most mean and unearthly things you could shout to a performer.
The first judge, (I don't know his name) was very kind, and you could tell he was accepting, and he put the mans hopes up.
Poor guy, for his way he was amazing, and I stand up clapping.

Plus, I looked up a video of him playing in what looks like his home. There's a nice piano in the background with (again, what looks like) a mound of sheet music on top. And I found a link to him on a UK Music Teachers site. It says he teaches theory, keyboard and piano. His qualifications are "GRADE 5 THEORY ABRMS" and "DIPLOMA IN PERFOMANCE OF MUSIC."
Again, I really believe that this man CAN play. His inability to play is an ACT! And a damn good one at that! The man deserves an Oscar! :)

I think the whole thing was the joke. Anyone take a look at his piano books? "The Complete Keyboard Player" and "How to Play Keyboards"!!! He didn't even need the second one, so why would he bring it unless it was meant as a prop?! Honestly, this guy is HILARIOUS! I really believe his whole personality is just an act, a character he's made up for this show alone. Ten bucks says he really IS a brilliant keyboard player with a wicked sense of humor!!! ;)

This Guy is Ok but the timing is completely wrong. Check my channel and I play electronic Organ and Keyboard but I only have my organ videos there is my music teacher as well and he is great at playing. This Michael Maechell has a great keyboard but not a great way of playing it. That I know is one of the top of the PSR range of the time that this video was taken and this show was on.
