  • Very helpful video, as I need to do this with my Aspire One. Amazing that you could do it with such fat hairy short arms & stubby little fingers, too, with screaming kids/wife/TV in the background, so I salute you, as I'll need total silence, isolation, several stiff drinks & your video running silently in the background on my big pc while doing it with my long sensitive fingers, & will still probably grunt as much as you, if not more, whilst doing it.

Thanks again for a very informative video.

  • WOOW

    GOOD JOB

  • What made you change your Ram? Was it a blank screen when you "Start Up or slow performance or Computer freezes". Cause I have a Acer Aspire One D255. My screen goes blank when I Start up I hear the sound when my User Pic and Password show up Plz Help Me!!

  • @dre8431 I never had any problems. I replaced for faster access times when multi tasking.

    Thanks for watching!

  • @OfGhostThe Most likely because you have a newer model. I bought this netbook when they were phasing out the single core in the acer netbooks. The dual cores were $240 or so whereas I payed $198 since it was being replaced. Take a pick of the bottom of yours and msg me with the link. Because if you watch my video and the one I have linked in the description you will see that there are screws under the keyboard that need to be removed in order to poke the back plate off like in the vids.

  • Getting the keyboard off is too damn difficult ! Anyone can give me some tips ??? I suppose I push the button at the end...

  • I got my chip directly from Crucial

  • Awesome video! And nice Duracell screw driver to!!

  • @SoftwareReviews132 thanks!

  • Very useful video Thanks !!! a+

  • I work the ram acer aspire one will happen, is the same model that is in your video

  • Hello friend, my question is to install a 2g ram, acer does not start it like that shown in the video, as is memory, what will happen as my acer aspire one, memory is correct and will not start

    thanks

  • Hi iv just watched your video and im wondering if this is would also work: G.SKILL 2GB SODIMM DDR3-1333 (PC3 10666) F3-10666CL9S-2GBSQ RETAIL

  • I've an Aspire One D255E-N57DQkk and I wish to upgrade my RAM(DDR3) from 1 gb to 2...wich RAM model (and wich specific characteristics) do you recommend?

Thank you and congrats for the vid..! ^_^

  • I got a Wintec 3vh1333929-2gr from Fry's for $12.99. Works like a charm!

  • Well Done Sir! I agree with previous poster, I never would have figured out that push the screw driver procedure. Great How-to. Thanks!

  • @caseyiso You OBVIOUSLY have never owned this netbook and have no idea what you're talking about. This is the only way to swap memory in this netbook. Please do not post comments to confuse others when your information is incorrect.

  • i mean 3:40

  • lol 2:40 "Almost in..." "AYE" "Holy shit, FFFUU" Nice vid bro thinkin about upgrading my d255e too

  • Great video

I miss the days where all you had to do was to unscrew one screw, pop open a small lid in the back and change the RAM, the job would be done in about 30 secs :)

  • Where did you got your RAM as I want a reliable place to get it? An the video was great man seems like a swift and not bloody at all.

  • @elnoecastillo21 Amazon. thanks for watching!

  • can it run over 2gb ram? i think it can but, google results say 2gb max

  • @cdoublejj 2 Gb is Max

  • @cdoublejj Dude, google said max so did intel, why do you think it can take more O.o

  • @iToasterman Becuse smtimes bioses purposefully lock out certain upgrdes. smtimes the bios can be moded to suport upgrdes. main reason for not believing it rlly can't suport 4gb is that its a modern chpset, what kind of modern chip set can't handle 3.5 gb? jst about any 32bit systm can othr thn before ddr and evn then sum sd100/133 srvr bords could do several gb. you mntioned intel said the max amount of ram if thts frm the intel chpset pg then its probably all it rlly can support

  • @cdoublejj Dude what bios locks out upgrades, i've never seen any, and its not bios or the chipset, the intel atom can no read more then 2gb of ram. It says it on their documents

  • @iToasterman ah okay it is a buget cpu tht makes since, sumtimes memry mngmnt is the cipset's job. plenty bioses lock out stff, if you have ever worked with a lot of notebooks some lock out cpu upgrds or certain mxm gfx crd upgrdes.

check out NBR i'm sure there instances of ths in various on that forum. i knw my 5920g can't run 9600m GTs with out bios mod but, come stock with 8600m GTs.

I'v seen sum cipsets capable of quads lock them out because they have smll heatsinks.

  • @cdoublejj You need to work on spelling D: BTW, there is the rare netbook that takes 4gb of ram. some have chipets that will take it,but the intel atom cant take advantage of 4gb.

  • @iToasterman Youtube will only let me post so many characters. I was around -300 characters the first time and -80 the second time

  • @cdoublejj Then message me on youtube XD

  • Excelent video! I could upgrade my AOD255E-13412 perfectly! Thank you a lot for the help!!!

  • im shit with this kinda stuff do you fink i could damage my computer if i try to do this or o you reomend i bring my computer to a computer docter and let him do it pleese answer

  • @Boomerangutan If your not confident in your skills by no means try it unless you don't mind replacing the netbook if a fault occurs. With that said it's really just about being patient and taking your time to do the procedure correctly. Order the correct stick of ram and you should have no problems.

  • Very helpful, Thanks!

  • Ace :) i would never have known to push a screwdriver through that hole - saved me 40 bucks :) Thanks mate :)

  • couldn't do this without your video

    thanks very much

  • Totally valid hand expression at the end btw! thanks 4 the vid

  • Thank you so much! This was very helpful.

  • Thanks for the vid...
