  • It looks to me like that melted line is not in the correct spot and likely why your melting fuel lines. The fuel lines typicaly do not need to make an S turn, they should go straight across from one side to the other and then can stay tight against the back of the engine/gastank/fender box and clear of the rear tire. I think you have the fuel line entering in one of the holes that is used to get to the engine mount crews or something. There should be two extra holes in the box for fuel lines.

  • @PMWgoped it is in the correct spot, there is only two holes they can come out of on the pull start side opposite of the gas tank, so there is no way to mess it up, i put it infront of the fender now, and its tight so no way i can reach it with my foot, regardless today it doesnt run anymore. something else broke, too much to explain now, i will investigate tomorrow

  • @FrenchValleyAirport You may be right about the fuel lines but, fuel lines touching the tire is something I very rarely hear about (maybe 3 or 4 times in total) as a Go-Ped tech guy for 25 years and if so it has always been from misrouted lines and so the reason for my suspicion. I am thinking you have the line existing the box in the correct spot but not going into the box in the right spot. Anyways having it go outside the box works too even though its not as appealing so I would leave it now.

  • @PMWgoped part 2: looks like its the carb, mis-tuned. i got a 990, i might buy a 603 to replace this one. pissed the hell off because i spent well over 600 dollars on this and i cant ride more than 5 miles without something fucking me over

  • @FrenchValleyAirport A 990 spindle is pretty big and may be gearing the ped a little tall. If this is the case the engine basically just lugs around and has trouble getting full RPM. Similar to how you would be starting off on a mountain bike in the tallest gear.

  • @FrenchValleyAirport Unfortunately people can go overboard with performance bolt on parts and make the engine put out more power and spin faster then the engine was originally designed for. This is ok for racing as that allows a person to push performance and have time between races to check everything over and make adjustments to go out and do it again. That takes a good understanding of a 2-cycle engine and mechanic skills. I think your doing great and believe you will have it going good soon.

  • @PMWgoped i dont understand what happend, i had it tuned good, started everytime with the pull start, i go to put it away and my dad wants to see it run, it doesnt start, and when i bump start it, it bogs and dies... wtf is going on. can the needle turn with vibrations?

  • @FrenchValleyAirport The needle can move from vibration or from getting bumped but unlikely. It is probably something simple like a fouled spark plug. Always start with inspecting the spark plug because the spark plug can give you signs as to what may be going one. If it's wet and oily then the engine was flooded, choke left closed, or to much oil was allowed to build up on it. If the Spark plug is bone dry and a whitish/tan color you may be running it too lean. In other words no spark = no run

  • @PMWgoped spark plug is a new $9.50 iridium plug. but it just needs to be tuned, the weird part is i tuned it perfect. i went to show my dad and it didnt want to start again & bogged.... wtf is going on

  • @CAPTQYOUELL yeah its fast at takeoff, and once i hit the powerband it kicks me back with the GS lol

  • @CAPTQYOUELL Be gential on the throttle and lean forward to get more weight over the front wheel when accerating. Remember you do have contol of power, so just use it wisely.

  • I wouldn't wrap it in electric tape if I were you. It's just going to make a sticky mess. They sell "High Temperature Braided Sleevings" used for spark plug wires, that stuff should solve your problem permanently. I can P.M. you a link to a place that sells it online if you like, but NAPA might sell it too.

  • @TheTarrMan There should be realy no need if the fuel lines are in the correct loction.

  • @TheTarrMan Yeah, I dont have mine with me to compare to (A friend is borrowing it for a week long camping trip) but, I can say I don't remember the fuel line making that S turn in the fender like that. I believe they just go straigh across from one hole to the next. I think in 25 years I may have addressed this type of thing only a few time but frenchvalleyairport had this happen to him twice so it's likely a line routing issue.
