I have a few questions about this method.

1. How tight do you recommend the centers to be screwed on a scale from 1-10. (1 being very lose and 10 very tight.

2. Do you recommend sandpapering too? (If yes, then please link a good video of it)

3. For how long do you do this process all together (Like, 30 min after you get it or like 10 min every day for a week etc)

4. Do you often lube it?

5. Do you still use this method nowdays?

So yeah I was testing this method on an OLD/pre-owned storebought cube and one of the Centers busted. XD That's okay, this one cost me 25cents at a yard sale.

I used your method and every time I turn any face connected to the yellow side, the cube falls apart or EXPLODES. the method pulls on the center piece(s), and causes cracks in the internal mechanism. Try to see what you can do about this.

what i did which saved me a lot of time, is i got some sand paper, took my cube (rubik's brand) apart, and sanded down every peice, where it touched another cube. just smoothed out the corners and stuff. then spray it with some silicone. i have never had any lock ups. i put some cubesmith smooth tiles on it and its actually one of my best cubes.

i did with my cube but i have one perfection thing (for the method) put Vaseline in the cube while you do this, (clean it out after about 2 weeks) it softens the plastic and smooths it out even better. the best method i know is : put vaseline in, cut the center caps off, and put vaseline in there, use pestvic's method, clean it out, silicone it Watch badmephisto's video for tutorial but a finish on the result : reassemble it, pop eight (i pop 16) and work in for 2-5 mins (for 16 use 10 mins)

Yesh! I got a Famwealth rubik's cube as part of a package(2x2, 3x3, 4x4) and it was kinda "eh" out of the box. I used your method along with sanding and then silicone lube(spray can, not special cube lube) and it turns sooooo well. Its super smooth and it barely catches. It cuts corners so well because of your breaking in technique! Thanks SOOOO much I cant put it into words how thankful I am!

i tried "stashing" a cubesmith plastic razorblade in the center...and it completely broke my cube...like if u do it to 1 side it'll be fine(i think) but i did it to 3 sides and the plastic actually bent almost 90 degrees and the core couldn't hold the cubies anymore :( i was pissed

10 min? Are you kidding me? I admit, your method works really well, but for my first storebought cube, the grinding must have at least taken half an hour to 45 minutes, and I had to take constant breaks cos your gets really sore twisting like that. My second cube that I'm breaking in now is already pretty loose and smooth-turning, but I've spent well over half-an-hour just stretching the pieces so they can cut corners, not to mention the extra time spent recovering my hand.
