I feel exhausted almost all day and then about 6 pm, I feel great. 8 pm, I crash again. 10 pm, I feel ok, but not like I did at 6 pm. Does this still sound like adrenal fatigue?
Thank you for this thorough video. I have quit the coffee and sugar, but am drinking green tea. I know there is still some caffeine (15% of coffee), but I hope to go to an herbal tea soon. Is roasted dandelion tea a good choice?
@escapeclaus Try Roma Kaffree. It's a good beverage, caffeine free, non-acid forming and a good replacment for coffee. I got a jar at the Health for store yesterday. Not bad at all. You can also order it at vitacost dot com.
what if we have a 20month old baby and can't rest when we want too. She is adhd and never stops all day. She is constantly climbing up things and getting into stuff. How do I rest when I literally cant. Is there any other way to fix this problem??
@EpicGamerWorld Make sure to rest when she naps. I know that you have a zillion things to do, but when she's down, if you rest you'll feel much better.
You can also use some adrenal supportive nutrients...can be purchased at any health food store. But honestly, being a parent with a toddler is exhausting, so rest is your best bet.

Yup, I have no trouble being in bed well before 10pm (even though I have an energy surge later on), but I can NOT sleep much before midnight - often much later.=(
THANK YOU so much for the helpful videos! I will continue reading and learning more about adrenal fatigue because I am certain it is the reason I have had particular health issues lately. I've been generally fatigued for nearly 15 years...since I was 14 and had mono. I dealt with it then with more caffiene, and never quite learned how to manage sleep and stress. It has gotten worse over the years. My sister-in-law suggested looking into adrenal fatigue. Thanks for contributing to my learning!
Have convulsions, ticks or seizure like activity been observed in adrenal fatigue? What about paraplegia? I just came home from the hospital and my whole body shut down even my ability to speak. Within a few hours I could speak again, but my legs never seem to recover. Can Adrenal fatigue cause this? Thanks for your video!
@hayyalife I haven't heard of this type of reaction with adrenal fatigue. Since you had just come home from the hospital, there is much that could be occurring.
I suffer from panic attacks- and I wondering if this could have given me adrenal fatigue- I am so tired all the time! I am monitoring my blood sugars and eating accordingly- but still, I feel so tired. I watch my 19 month old son all day, but some days I can barely leave my bed.
@chunoone Yes, adrenal fatigue is what we used to call burn-out. This can cause panic attacks. You say that you are monitoring your glucose levels; that leads me to believe that you are diabetic. So, I would go to your doctor and ask to have your cortisol and DHEA levels checked. Also your other hormones. Also I’d ask to have your insulin levels checked: fasting and 1 and 2 hour post prandial. Something may be out of balance that can easily be adjusted.
@InnovativeHealing Thank you for your reply! I am not diabetic, but I have a history of diabetes in family. My doctor says I have reactive hypoglycemia- perhaps a precursor to prediabetes- so I monitor my blood sugar and check it when I feel it is too low. My fasting blood glucose is between 65-85. I really do not want to take any prescription drugs for my anxiety- but I am getting to the point where I need to do something.
The AMA owns the medical codes, so until someone lobbies them to add adrenal fatigue to their codes, there won't be help for this condition. Sometimes they will pay if a doctor makes a diagnosis of fatigue or chronic fatigue. You can try that. It's less specific, but sometimes works.
Dr. Lipski, hello, i saw you on Richard Beckers show the other day. Anyway, i had a question, you may or may not know how to answer it. What can I do as an AF sufferer to get this condition know to the medical community. I wish there was something we could do, perhaps write to the insurance companies, the WHO, or some other organization to get Adrenal fatigue recognized as a legit illness. Even if we AF suffers have insurance there is no way we can get help because there is no ICD code for AF.
The best test for adrenal fatigue is to do DHEA and cortisol testing. I prefer doing a salivary test because it tests the cortisol levels 4 times a day. You would have to pay out of pocket for that. If you have medical insurance, you could just test DHEA-sulfate and cortisol if your physician will order it. There are a lot of reasons that people get migraines and fatigue. I would recommending working with someone who can look at your life, your health, to get better.
what types of testing/blood test can be done to determine if i have adrenal fatigue?... i used to think i had pcos but tests came back negative on that. adrenal fatigue is really the only other explanation for my symptoms which include anxiety, fatigue, depression, lack of concentration and stress. I drink a lot of caffiene and have for years, i have a 2 liter of diet coke a day which is horrible but i need the energy to keep up with my busy schedule.
i have the adrenal book. I read though majority of the book and thought "this is me". I went to my endocrinologist and had a cortisol test done. I do not remember what the numbers were but I was told they were fine and not to worry. I have a thyroid disorder which over the years (even with close medication watch/adjustment) fluctuates so often. Stress is a big factor in how I feel. I felt well a few weeks ago but stress has built up and caused not only an IBS flare but a few migraines as well.
There are many reasons this could be happening. Have you tried meditation? There are numerous techniques for quieting the mind. You can even try journaling...writing down everything in your mind before you lay down. This empties all your thoughts on paper and then you do not have to think about them.
Thanks for such an informing video! I have just started taking SFM a Thyroid and Adrenal Nutritional Support to help my adrenals but your video has inspired me to get off the coffee (it will be a challenge!) Your line about coffee robbing yourself later on has really struck a cord. Throughout the day at work find it difficult to SAY NO. i have a lot of changes to make. thanks for sharing your knowledge. cheers
Do you have any tips for someone who works from 2 pm to 11 pm? Also how about a Detox tea like say from Yogi. I'm drinking one that is supposed to detox the liver and kidneys. I believe it's got licorice and dandelion in it.
If that is your schedule, you just have to adjust accordingly. Make sure you get enough sleep and allow time for yourself. Sounds like the detox tea you are drinking is good. Triple Leaf Tea makes a good detox tea as well.
This is great video. Very, very helpful and it's very nice of you to put this on YouTube. I was under a period of terrible stress for 5 years and now, just running on coke a cola. I am almost unable to function now. I only just recently realized what is happening to me. Thanks for the tips.
No, not Twillizers. I am talking about DGL, which is a licorice supplement that helps to heal ulcers, soothe the stomach, treat GERD, and help with digestion.
I prefer the chewable DGL because it's sweet, like a treat, and immediately helps instead of having to wait for the body to break down the supplement.
You should be able to buy it at your local health food store.
Thanks to you I'm changing my sleeping time as I exactly fit the fatigue/energy fluctuating pattern you mention. These 2 vids have been wonderful. Thanks so much for them. You have a nice soothing voice and manner - good for the adrenals! (P.S. I think there are fight, flight AND freeze-with-fright modes - 3 not 2. Just a thought.)

Can adrenal fatigue lead to bouts of anxiety and depression?
stork1000 1 year ago
Yes it can. You often hear "tired", "depressed", and "anxious" used together to describe how someone feels. See my video on Vitamin D.
