I was lucky enough to see her in 2006 in concert and she was spectacular. I had seen her once before about ten years earlier and it amazed me the strength of her voice after so many years. Because she was a jazz singer and not a pop or rock and roll singer, she never got her props. She was an amazing onstage performer before she took ill.

Ms. James was invited as a special guest to sing her classic number..."DANCING WITH THE STARS" production staff did not have to do bring her on to be part of the show! As you can see even the dancers gave her "props" by appoaching her after she finished singing...something rarely done, if ever, on this type of DANCE show.
