A person dressed like this is a distraction to other students in my opinion. I understand his/her point of view in that he may have been born into the wrong body, etc., but freedom of expression is limited in that one's expression is not allowed to intrude on another person's freedoms; in this case, in my opinion, the other students' rights to be free from any distraction while trying to learn in school have been violated. If someone came in with a profane shirt on, the same would apply.

Women are not looked at as being "distracting" or "cross dressers" if they wear pants, baseball caps, boxer shorts, t shirts, or have short hair. Dress codes should be the same for both males and females. If a girl can have long hair, then a boy should be able to have long hair. If skirts are allowed for females and a male wants to wear a skirt, then it should be allowed. Really, who decides what is proper for one gender and not for another? Same as who decides what is appropriate attire for anything else. Used to be powedered wigs were proper dress for men, now it's suits and ties. Who makes this stuff up? People should be themselves!

Most are at a stage in life where they're still unsure of themselves, so it's only natural to fear the unknown, or to have their identity or sexual orientation put into question by perceived association with someone who was "different".
