dirrell got the nosebleed in the first rounds hence your punch remark is useless, froch didnt have a mark on his face, and dirrell ran all night , held , complained, ducked below the waist, threw himself to the canvas, dropped to his knees? etc etc etc stank up the arena... not froch's most entertaining fight but he won IMO fu
Great post fight analysis, I'm a Carl Froch fan, however I always like to think I score fights as a neutral observer, Dirrell won that fight easy, his speed, skill, movement was way too much for Froch, Froch was hitting thin air all night. Rather then people accusing Dirrell of running all night, Froch could also be accused of being unable to cut the ring off.
@smoky2004 sorry i dont see how you can say dirrell won he was never in the fight, Dirrell thought it was come dancing, you need to watch this fight again.Nobody is gonna be a champion fighting like that.
As far as boxing, speed and counterpunching I had Dirrell the whole way.
Unfortunately Dirrell blew it for himself by continually holding onto Froch. (I counted 15 very clear holdings from Dirrell round 7 an on)
In many eyes, with Dirrell holding, Froch wasn't able to box fairly.
Holding is against the rules in boxing and while it happens frequently in matches, it was extremely obvious to see that Dirrell was intentionally doing so to unfairly keep Froch from using his power on the inside.
i think froch won it but dirrell was clearly the better boxer but he didnt do enough, abraham wins super 6. tyson use to cheat ali did to marciano all good boxers
Dirrel is one of the most awkward fighters i've ever watched, dancing about the ring like a fairy. People payed to see a fight not watch two men cuddle eachother. If Dirrel planted his feet snd stood toe to toe he would have lost. Dirrel ran away for most of the fight.
hes not gunna trade with froch lol he had to fight defensive, froch won though, he was the clear aggressor and the point dirrell lost cost him the match
What a surprise your name is "ENGLAND041987" ... dude nothing other to say than Froch is a punk ass bitch who hit nothing but air the entire fight. This fight was a sham. Froch lost and he knows it for sure.
lol andre ward, hey wesley u can be glad that ward does not face abraham in the first three fight. Accordingly, he will only be knocked out by kessler.
honestly, who would want to stick up for froch. he wouldnt even give dirrell any respect whatsoever even after froch got his ass kicked and was given a hometown decision. he has no class. kessler will knock him out mark my words. froch isnt in the same class as ward, dirrell, abraham and kessler. i didnt say taylor because he is shot and i think he is pulling out of the tournament
I am from Uk and think he lost and when that run away tactic was used to win by a Brit everyone said it was great. I hate people who can`t use evidence to back up opinions
Dirrell WON THAT FIGHT. AND WHEN HE MOVED HE MOVED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF PUNCHES AND SWITCHED POSITIONS TO THROW OF HIS OPPONENT FROCH. SWITCHING POSITIONS IS WHAT YOUR TAUGHT IN BOXING TO KEEP FROM GETTING HIT IT IS A DISTRACTION TACTIC. WHEN DIRRELL MOVES HE IS KEEPING FROCH FROM GETTING SET TO THROW PUNCHES THAT RUNNING AS MANY OF YOU CALL IT IS ACTUALLY A SMART BOXING TACTIC AND STRATEGY.
I'll say this though, Dirrell has a lot of potential. Most of ya'll prolly don't know what the fuck I'm talkin about anyway, cuz ya'll really don't know shit about boxin, but judging by his style and his stance, combined with his athleticism, he's got GREAT potential. BUT his lack of experience showed in his fight with Froch, and that kind of runnin shit, where he don't do shit in the corner but act scared might get his ass knocked out.
Look man, B Hop boxes. Floyd boxes. Dirrell ran. I'm sorry, but you don't go into a champion's hometown and take the belt by running. And he ran. He had no answers when he got cornered and is lucky that Froch didn't have the insight to throw that straight right hand to his body or he didn't have much of a hook to speak of. That's a bitch move. You don't run scared, and he did fight SCARED, and win a belt from a champ. Let me ask you what MAN does that shit? BHOP don't run.
You said it best. The people are the real judges. No true boxing fan will hold this against Direll. He exposed Froch in front of the world, and Froch will get owned again in his next 2 fights and will not make advance in the tournament. If Direll doesn't make it either then maybe we will see a rematch, in a more fair setting, and Direll can put the hands on him again.
LOL.... I never really heard it put like that. "Dirrell landed some good shots but he only threw to open a door to run". When you said that.... I pictured that in my head and had to laugh.... LOL Thanks for your take on the fight.
I genuinely thought Dirrell landed more shots but it was the way he threw them, there was no intent to go in behind them and follow up.
I'm a Froch fan, that's gotta be obvious but having said that even though he made Froch look slow he still looked too scared to engage.
I got Dirrell getting laid out in this tournament, I think he's a but chin tastic and he knows it. He's going to get booed for running away and try and mix it, then he'll get caught and it'll be hello canvass.
I hear you. The thing is this. Our views on him moving a lot (or running as you saw it) might be answered in the next fight . I say that because he NOW KNOWS that he will have to win convincingly. Ali was a great boxer, and he PUNISHED you. Leonard was a good boxer, and he PUNISHED you. Roy Jones... same thing. Kessler (active fighter)... Same thing. So I understand that Dirrell didn't "Punish" Froch. He will have to engage more to make a impact with the judges. THEN we will see what he's about.
I really got Dirrell getting laid out in this tournament, I can see it in his face. I saw Hanshaw sit him down and Rocha, 1 solid shot from Abraham is gonna show everyone what this guy's got.
He looked way too scared against Froch, so what on earth is he going to do after seeing what Abraham did to Taylor.
I don't count his last fight as a 12 rounder either, there were no championship rounds in there, no trenches and as far as i'm concerned Dirrell still hasn't had a proper 12 round fight IMO.
Froch is overrated he thinks he is better than he really is. He missed shots the whole fight and looked really bad swinging and missing the way he did. Dirrel got robbed hands down 115-113 even with the deduction this is why people watch MMA because of Decisions like that.
I just want to tell the boxing community that I'm new to posting boxing videos. I want to also assure the boxing fans all around the world that I really love boxing, and love any fighter from any part of the world. One of the people I liked to watch the most when he was still fighting is Kos Tszyu. If I give my take on a fight with one fighter not American, I will consider everything about the fight. Please understand that. Peace, and Much Love to ALL the people from around the world.
I was there and dirrell didn't want to fight at all... When he made punches i will admit he did connect but it barely affected carl.
'outbox carl froch?' No chance . Froch was chasing him and giving him the fight the whole night. Froch made the best of a bad fight. No way should of been a split decision.
I understand your objection, and I welcome it. just please don't attack me as a person. I just want to talk boxing. I agree with you on the Lewis/Hollyfield, Haggler/Leonard fight....though I do believe mallignaggi beat Diaz. Thanks for your comment.
Yeah Froch got lucky and got the referee's decisions but the amount of times American fighters have got away with dirty fighting like Mayweather vs Hatton and Calzaghe vs Hopkins were Joe Cortez was up the American fighters ass!
Thank you for the comment, and I looked at your post fight video as well, and I do understand what you mean about conducting yourself like a champion. Thanks.
i believe froch won by a round, im english, the ref ws black south american so no dispute in that sense not that you ever said it. the refs that had it froch's side had froch a round up 115 - 112 plus that penalised point dirrell had deducted for the point, 115 - 113 equals beaten by one round... froch is shit but dirrell ran too much to win it. germany would of been 117 froch 111 dirrell. dirrell proved alot. true winner win be abrham or kessler do you agree?
Yes. I see Kessler or Abraham being crowned at the end. Out of all the contestants in the tournament.... Kessler was the only one to face Joe Calzaghe, and he put up a good performance against him in the earlier rounds. But Calzaghe being the true champion he is.... wore Kessler down enough to take command of the fight. If that had been another fighter Kessler would have been champion. So I lean towards Kessler because he has experience with Joe, and did well in my eyes.
I hoped you listened to my opening comments of the video, because I clearly said that I don't care where a fighter is from, and it has nothing to do with where I live. Other than the "biased" part.... I thank you for leaving your comment, and point of view on the page. Thanks.
dirrells jabbed pitter patters and not often enough to win a fight by running. i didnt buy into all this dancing and running away shit. dirrel might look skillfull but he actually didnt do much. the quality of punches were better from froch. subjective scoring. gotta face that some judges prefer the aggressor rather than stick and move tactic. and dirrell didnt really do a god enough job to win a fight by that stick and move tactic.
this is totaly hypocritical. dirrell cheated way more than froch. he fell to his knees every time he missed a punch, he held on constantly and ran away. I dont buy that opening line buddy. you're saying dirrell's cheating is ok but carl froch's wasn't! the fight was scored right. dirrell landed powderpuff shots, froch landed damaging shots and busted dirrell's face.
Good comments mate and I agree with a lot of what you say. I really think that the problem is with the home advantage. The judges always seem to be influenced by the home crowd so if the visiting fighter doesn't knock the home guy out, he will struggle to win on points. I know it can't be done because of the financial aspect, but fights like these should be held on neutral ground.
i stand by what the judges showed, it was a close fight but in my opinion i thought that Carl Froch won that fight, i thought he showed more agression, when dirrell ran away.
Dirrell started to win after round 8 but before that he wasnt doing much, He has to forget about this one because he's fightin a monster named abraham next. Taylor retire now, your brain and Allan Green will thank you.
i have to agree with every word you said, which is hard to admit coming from nottingham and having froch as my home town fighter. it was a very poor fight and if dirrell is getting points knocked off for holding then froch sould have had points taken off for hitting behind the head! very dirty fight. i feel sorry for you americans watching the bout because not only did you have to sit through a shit fight but you had to deal with your fighter being robbed. good luck to dirrell in his next bout.
If Calzaghe came out of retirement, Froch would stand no chance against him. The difference in class would be clear to see. Froch would get stopped or KO'd before the 8th round. Good luck to Andre Dirrell for the next fight, he deserved to win that one and all fair fight fans who watched it, could see he was robbed of victory.
I agree. Like I said in a earlier comment..... "If we're trying to find the TRUE champion in this Super Six Tournament ... how can we find him if the wrong fighters are winning" (clearly)? I will say this though. We are at least guaranteed some pretty exciting fights throughout this tournament. I'm thankful for THAT at least.
Dirrel fought beautifully but wasn't aggressive enough in the first 7 rounds. The challenger has to take the title and you can't do that by running. Dirrel was the better boxer and if this would have been a non-title fight would have won a unianimous decision.
Thank you for your input, and just to show you my fairness objectivity, I will tell you that I fully understand where you're coming from. That statement is true in most cases. You DO have to clearly beat the champion to win in most cases. People don't want to see a guy beat the champion in a close fight because we don't know what the future holds for the new champ. People (including myself) want to see a champion reign for a long time. So why risk losing that on a close fight with a "unknown".
hometown win. froch hit andre like 10 times behind the head at least, toss him to the floor, hold his hand and punch numerous of times, and above that he hit so many times after the BREAK. in my eyes froch should of got at least 3points taken away if not dq.
and above that dirrel got point taken away , and froch look like a chump the way he was throwing punchs.
I want to add 1 more point to this video. If this is SUPPOSED to be a TOURNAMENT.... then there should be NO ROOM for Home Town Cooking. We are trying to see who the REAL CHAMPION will be. So how can we find out if they are not letting the true winners advance?
It's not Froch's fault. I'm not claiming that, but Dirrell the dirtier fighter, HAHAHAHAHA!!! Dirrell got robbed, and Froch was exposed, and to think he actually thought he could beat Calzaghe!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
Dirrell was dirtier. He was a spoiler. Dirrell did land more punches but he ran for 95% of the fight. When he wasn't running he was clinching or bending down on the floor. He ran so much he actually fell over twice. Also, spoiling a fight by clinching isn't defence. Gary Shaw - Dirrell's own promoter - said he didn't do enough to win the belt.
you call froch a cheat? it was fustration because dirrell was holding 10 times more then hopkins vs clazaghe.b-hop lost that fight because of negativity.you cannot set out to steal the wbc title.i will not be paying to watch dirrll anytime soon SPOILER
not convincing enough when fighting in a different country, yeah if you land more punches you should win but lets be honest we all know thats not how it is when a boxer is fighting out of there country, Dirrell was putting Froch in a position where Froch had no choice but to hit him on the back of the head, the ref let it go on a because of that reason, if Dirrell didnt hold and keep slipping over etc he might of won, dont blame Froch for the result its not his fault lol,
man i agreed with you im british and of course i wanted froch to win and i was cheering for him but i felt so sorry for the Dirrell. i had him won he defo had the last 3 rounds and i though there was no way froch was going to win. im a boxing fan. i like my british boxinger but i dont want them to cheat. im going to have to watch this fight again because when your watching it live is different when you are marking it but what i saw Dirrell won. peaceeeeeeeeee
I'm from the UK and I totally agree with your fair and considered assessment.
I also believe that Dirrell won the fight by at least 2 or 3 rounds. He quite simply outboxed Carl through out the fight. It was a hometown decision. It's a shame when boxing can't be fair to the BEST boxer on the night no matter where they are from. As much I like Carl for his 'get in their and fight' attitude he lost to the better boxer in my opinion. Dirrell maybe not have got the decision, but I think he won.
you cant hit and run and expect to win,and hold on that much it would have been daylight robbery

Dirrell deserved those punches on the back of the head, there was way too much clinching.
Dirrell needed punching while he was facing down, GOOD, facing down in boxing is a massive NO.
Dirrell ran, dropped to the ground 9 times, clinched for no reason and Whined like a bitch.
Froch came to fight, that's what a champ does.
Froch didn't cheat, Dirrell came to run he's got a shit defense, running is not defense.
Dirrell landed some good shots but he only threw to open a door to run.
He RAN dude.

So why risk losing that on a close fight with a "unknown".

hometown win. froch hit andre like 10 times behind the head at least, toss him to the floor, hold his hand and punch numerous of times, and above that he hit so many times after the BREAK. in my eyes froch should of got at least 3points taken away if not dq.
and above that dirrel got point taken away , and froch look like a chump the way he was throwing punchs.
fights like this makes me hate boxing

I want to add 1 more point to this video. If this is SUPPOSED to be a TOURNAMENT.... then there should be NO ROOM for Home Town Cooking. We are trying to see who the REAL CHAMPION will be. So how can we find out if they are not letting the true winners advance?

It's not Froch's fault. I'm not claiming that, but Dirrell the dirtier fighter, HAHAHAHAHA!!! Dirrell got robbed, and Froch was exposed, and to think he actually thought he could beat Calzaghe!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
RickieC00L 2 years ago
Yes. I don't see the Froch/Calzaghe thing anymore.

exposed? he got exposed by a complete spoiler in dirrell. squirrell sprinted away for half the fight

I love froch but no way in hell did he win!!
GoFuckYourselfBiatch 2 years ago
I wanted Froch to win, but this was complete domination by Dirrell.

I understand your point. I respect your points too. Thanks for your insight :-)

you call froch a cheat? it was fustration because dirrell was holding 10 times more then hopkins vs clazaghe.b-hop lost that fight because of negativity.you cannot set out to steal the wbc title.i will not be paying to watch dirrll anytime soon SPOILER

not convincing enough when fighting in a different country, yeah if you land more punches you should win but lets be honest we all know thats not how it is when a boxer is fighting out of there country, Dirrell was putting Froch in a position where Froch had no choice but to hit him on the back of the head, the ref let it go on a because of that reason, if Dirrell didnt hold and keep slipping over etc he might of won, dont blame Froch for the result its not his fault lol,

man i agreed with you im british and of course i wanted froch to win and i was cheering for him but i felt so sorry for the Dirrell. i had him won he defo had the last 3 rounds and i though there was no way froch was going to win. im a boxing fan. i like my british boxinger but i dont want them to cheat. im going to have to watch this fight again because when your watching it live is different when you are marking it but what i saw Dirrell won. peaceeeeeeeeee

Good break down. I scored it 8-3-1 for Andre.
