  • can i put another lens on top of the vr lens? please reply!

  • Holy crap they sent my a lot of crap i mean.. haha oh gawd ur awesome! haha

  • i Love your unboxings!!!

  • @paco97farted Thanks - working on a couple of new ones today!

  • @PhotographyREVIEW Great!!!!

  • I am beginner to photography. Is this camera a good buy as my first camera? How good are the Pictures & Videos??

  • @megsypu i do believe the difference regarding what appears semi expert and pro is little these days. d7000 is perhaps all we all need. go to... freedslr . co m remove spaces and get an opportunity to win completely new Nikon D7000

  • How much did the whole kit cost u ? and how many frames per second the 5000 d takes ...plz

  • Thank u sir

  • still contused i am entry level user and its my first dslr i want a best please help me i am from india.

  • @Jayramjiki123 Either camera will be fine for a beginner. If you want to discuss this in more detail it would be better to do so on the PhotographyREVIEW forums.

  • i want to buy nikon dslr but i am confuse between d3100 and d5000 which one to buy please suggest me

  • @Jayramjiki123 The D3100 is newer and has better image quality and video features. That said, the D5000 is still a great camera and I still recommend it - especially if buying the D5000 means you have more money for a better lens.

  • I WOULD LOVE TO BURST THOSE "AIR BAGS" :D

  • Which camera did you use to film this video?

  • does this take good photos?,i want a dslr would this be good for an entry level?

  • @curtismichael14 The image quality is great but how good the photos are depends on the photographer :-)

Visit PhotographyREVIEW for a complete review and lots of sample photos taken with the D5000.

  • "Holy cow they send me a lot of crap - I mean... a lot of awesome stuff... Sorry.." LOL!

  • would you recommend this camera for amateur film making?

  • @Kiljan137 Not being much of a filmmaker, I hesitate to make recommendations. The D5000 is certainly capable of capturing good video, although the 720p resolution is a limitation. Right now the most popular video DSLRs are made by Canon. You might be better off posting a question on the PhotographyREVIEW Digital Video forum.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW alright, thanks for your help!

  • Is the D5000 a "plastic fantastic" like the rebel series? Or is it mostly metal? I'm looking for a light grab and go DSLR.

  • @biped19 don't worry about plastic or metallic - the compound of Nikon is high quality.

  • @biped19 Yes, the feel and build is pretty comparable to the Canon Digital Rebel cameras. I took the D5000 mountain biking a few times while I was testing it and the small size and low weight made it very comfortable in my hydration pack.

  • I think your white balance for the video camera is not what is should be.

  • @pomssi1 Can't blame the white balance on the camera. That was my fault. I left it on auto white balance when it should have been set for tungsten :-)

  • Did the 18-55mm lens come with a lens hood?

  • @123miguelp Oh yeah - image stabilized lenses like Nikon's VR lenses make a big difference if you're shooting at slow shutter speeds. I can't post the link here but if you search PhotographyREVIEW we have a very good article on image stabilization.

  • i'm just a beginner and my parents are going to buy this very cool stuff as a present for my birthday! i am so much excited as he opens the box as if i am the one opening it.. i can't wait to open my own nikon D5000!.. ^_^

which do you think is better, nikon D5000 or canon 500D?

    thanks for this video!

  • @camz25 Never think about "what's better" just... THINK or Decide what's the purpose or use you'll give to the cam. d5000 would be so much exceeding for some people, d5000 would not be good enough for some other activities.

  • @stayfit01 Absolutely. A great first DSLR choice.

  • The video quality is really good! What are you using to make this video?

  • @Yukino82 I don't remember for sure but I think I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark II for this video. Keep in mind that processing has a lot to do with the final quality. too. Even the best quality original will look like crap if you don't process it right.

  • which is better Sony alpha 330

    or this one Nikon d5000

  • @physco479 Please post your question on the PhotographyREVIEW Digital SLRs forum.

  • is the d5000, a nice camera?, does the the shutter have a nice speed?, and is the 720p video worth using?

  • @curtismichael14 Yes to all of your questions. Please check the pro reviews on PhotographyREVIEW for a complete report on the D5000.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW which one would you recommend the most, the olympus epl1 or, the d5000?

  • @curtismichael14 They're very different and that's going to be a personal decision. The Olympus costs a lot less and offers a lot of the performance of the D5000. The D5000 will be better in low light and for action.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW well i just want one with a fast shutter speed and nice video quality, cause i do alot of filming

  • @curtismichael14 If filming is your thing, then I would go with the Olympus and buy the EVF because it makes handheld video better. The E-PL1 is my fave cam for video right now.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW ok thank you so much :) i'v been trying to get a professionals perspective on this, i have been looking for a camera for months, so thank you very much :)

  • hi im wonderig if its normal for the little green light on the back to flash when i turn on the d5000 or when i attatch the lens??

    thanks

  • awesome review and unboxing. this is my man camera i want to get.

  • you look like a person who is part of the Dharma Initiative lol

  • @Quagmire88 I don't even know what that is. I love Slayer, bacon, mountain biking, skiing and taking pictures. Is that what the Dharma Initiative is about? :-D

  • @PhotographyREVIEW hehe, its from the show "Lost" :D

  • @PhotographyREVIEW its from a famous show lost. you can look it up.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW I believe he's talking about the Dharma Initiative from the Tv Series "LOST".

  • what camera did you use to shoot this video?

  • @pierrerichard7777 I really can't remember. I have a lot of cameras come through and I usually shoot these videos with one of the review cameras I have. It might have been the Canon EOS 5D Mk II. Whatever it was, I obviously forgot to set the white balance.

  • @PhotographyREVIEW thx for your effort anyways!

  • @pierrerichard7777 No problem. For what it's worth, I've found all of the current HD DSLRs and Micro Four Thirds cameras are capable of excellent video if you shoot it right and process it well. The processing is key. If you don't do it right, the final video can look terrible. My first 5D Mk II video was totally mushy and it wasn't the camera's fault.

  • a 550D and a D5000 is 30g difference in weight. But why did 550D feel alot lighter than D5000 when I tried them both in the shop?.. weird.

    Thanks for the Unboxing!

  • Camera is a BEAST

  • @ScottLewisNJ How so? The D5000 is actually pretty small and light for a digital SLR. Glad you liked the video :-)

  • Great job unboxing really enjoyed wish i had popcorn lol

  • i like ur video, ill be more excited than you are when i buy my own nikon cam.. u almost crap on ur pants while opening it..

  • I love & I want this cam^^

  • I love how exited you are about the cameras

  • @jstuartlittle I really Feel like i AM doing the unboxing lol

  • Canon 500D or Nikon D5000?!?

  • THE best unboxing video of this camera on yt! for sure!

  • how does a stoner like you, get an awsome job like this, you lucky basterd, nice unboxing i cant wait tilll i get mine

  • Canon Rebel XSi or Nikon D5000

  • Personally, I'm a Canon owner. But I like the image quality of the Nikons better right now. And I love the D5000's tilt/swivel LCD. Once you use one, it's hard to live without it.

  • So, what happens after you get the products, do you have a certain date that you have to send them back by?

  • Yes. I don't always get them back quite on time, though :-) They do all get returned, though. If I really want something for myself I still have to buy it, just like everyone else. I do get to a little more hands-on time for testing, though :-)

  • is the kit lense AF and VR?

  • Yes, it's an AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens.

  • @pbellini19 lol AF is autofocus and it has a built in motor to focus , and VR is vibration reduction and it's important to keep it in a lens , well both features are...

  • nice video does ur d5000 talk

  • hope to get this on Boxing day along with a 55-200mm lens do you think 55-200mm is a good buy for this camera

  • yes, a must have lens. Make sure it's AF-S unless you don't want auto focus

  • Alright cool thanks for the info

  • Or try and get a 18-200 mm lens with it since it would probably be more versatile than the 55-200. :O

  • which video recorder you're using for making up this video?

  • I'm sorry, I can't remember for sure which camera I used to make this video. I have a lot of cameras come through and sometimes I use them to make these box opening videos. If I remember right, I think I may have used the Canon EOS 5D Mark II for this one.

  • is this a good dslr for a beginner who has never had a slr/dslr before?

  • I think this is a very good beginner DSLR. It's not too expensive, easy to use and it leaves tons of room to grow. For more details read my pro review. There's a link for it in the description next to the video.

  • thanks man :)

  • Man i want this camara so0 bad. I have to start saving

  • how much nikon d5000 price?

  • In Canada it's like $850 .... no idea else where.

  • Wow! I saw nikon lens on ebay for $1,000 or over.

  • ya, the lenses can be expensive. You can pay anything for the lenses really, just depends what kind.

  • its $688 on amazon

  • saving up for this baby

  • i just bought one yesterday..im PROUD to say it really worth your money

  • I am not to proud to say that i am UTTERLY JEALOUS :)

  • i like big botty bitch hoes!!!

  • I've got a question regarding it's performance. Do pictures come out rather grainy and noisy like the Nikon Coolpix cameras do?

  • Not at all. The main reason is that it's a digital SLR with a much larger sensor. A larger sensor means that the actual pixels are larger, and that means significant;y less noise. This would actually be the case with any digital SLR.

  • Great! Thanks for the reply. And how's the camera auto focus itself? Would you recommend it for action and sports?

  • The auto focus is great for an entry-level DSLR and better than any compact camera. You should read my finished D5000 review on the site for more info :-)

  • Yesterday I opened a can of peas, and guess what ???????

There was hundred of peas insides !

But they were all green :o(

  • Thank you very much for your valuable insights, Alex. By the way, your post should read, "There were hundreds of peas inside."

  • French humor ;o)

  • I love these box openings, and the smell of new camera ahhhh the smell !

  • You take a words from my mouth :-)

Thank you for this video I'm saving money for this camera, and hope I will do this opening soon. Best regards from Serbia :)

  • i think i will love this camera, i cant wait till i have one in my possession :)

  • that was a great presentation.

  • Thanks - glad you enjoyed it :-)

  • how long can you shoot one continuous video? thanks

  • ooh nice............

  • I really enjoyed your unboxing and review! Very informative! I learned a few things that I didn't know before. I've been keeping my eyes on this one and still doing research but so far it looks pretty promising! =)

  • is the lens good ?

  • Yes. I tested the Nikon D5000 out, at Costco. And omg. I fell in love. I justhave to save up my money now :)

  • thanks man . i can't wait to buy it :)

  • Anytime (:

  • oh i love cameras and stuff

  • Interesting spin on D5000 vs 620-E Flip Screen. I've held the D5000... love the grip. Like the Menu's. Much better ISO performance. However the size/weight, flip screen, and kit lens of the Olympus (not to mention price) have me leaning 620-E. You have a 530. If you were comparing Feel, Ergonomics, and quality w/kit lens at ISO 400 and below which would you choose D5000 or 620-E?

  • omg that is a sexy camera

  • yeah....Please tell us which one is better D90 or D5000?

  • what? of course the D90 is better. Better battery, better LCD, top-view LCD, in-body AF motor, optional battery grip, dual input wheel, etc.

  • D90 is better in specs, if not used to DSLRS then go with the D5000, but if you are and you are a enthusiast in photography then get the D90

  • @coke510

    d90
