this is a really sad story. we had a Shilloh from new zion & she dies after 5 months, we're not really sure why, but when we called the breeder (broken hearted) she wasn't even paying attention. we (and all other people) that we know thought that she had to give us another puppy.

likely, we found the most amazing breeder (Tyson Kennels,Menlo Park,CA) she is one amazing person & we got Chester, who is almost 2 years now & just got another female, and she's 3.5 months now.

It most certainly is, If you have to get it done at all, its best to wait until about 6 months, longer depending on how big the breed is.

stupid owners know nothing of their dogs, his ears will go up on his own hes only bloody 3 1/2 months old here. When the puppy starts teething they go back down. 6 months old probably go back up glueing the ears is stupid

OMG I have got a gsd puppy and she is a bitch at 14 weeks and she is the same size as Abe her name is Lilly. I cant beleive it she is going to be BIG. Oh and BTW he is absoloutely georgeous I bet he is big now.

They're definitely glued and I would suggest prematurely too. Ears naturally go up around 4-6 months old...when they begin to "teethe". If the puppies ears aren't up by 7-8 months, then glue them in place.

probbly not until 6 months just dont touch his ears because i have 2 german shepherd dogs 4 and 3 years old and if you touch there ears alot there cartillage in their ears can be destroed and they will be floppy forever.

if it has "shiloh lines" then it is not a true akc GSD. shilohs aren't even a breed, but rather a pyramid scheme by the founder t.b. They had to come up with their own joint grading system because too many of their dogs couldnt pass the OFA tests.

It is a perversion of nature and the breed to breed dogs primarily for size, and I hope that your dogs don't have the horrible joint deformities that I've seen in other "oversized" shepherds.

Shiloh Shepherd foundations stem from AKC GSD stock. Please see pioneergermanshepherds . com/shilohshepherds.html for more information. Horrible joint deformities can result in ANY size GSD, that is why it is imperative to x-ray and certify stock be them standard or large sized.

i have an 8 weeks old female german shepherd..as of now she knw how to go to comfort room.but im starting to train her behaviour so that if she getting bigger and older,possibly she knw about the (hand)signs that i told her today.But dont you worry because GSD are one of the greatest breed's in dog's world. They are not vicious..if i say they are 90% lovable,harmless and loyal to his/her master.

While making a delivery to a house there was an enormous German Shepherd on a glass-enclosed balcony. As I walked past, this big fellow comes over and sticks his nose through a gap in the glass. Next thing a HUGE paw comes through the gap wanting shake-a-paw. He didn't seem like much of a guard dog but the best disposition, I could have taken him home.

that is what my dog had was the ears like that my dad (who used to be a police oficer) said that is what all his german shepherds had. they do that until there skull either grows or more nutrition gets to the ears. My German Shepherd is named Keyser.

They are glued, we do that with some of our Shiloh Shepherds. You glue the fur into a teepee shape, its more humane.

Actually Abe's ears were not glued in those pictures, sometimes German Shepherd Dog's ears just do some pretty funky things when they are getting to stand :) He just turned 8 months old and is almost as big as his dad already, we'll try to get some new videos up soon. Most likely yes because if its not a strong enough mix of german shepard then its ears will need help to stand up. Vets sometimes pin the ears so they stickup

no, if it becomes a habit it'll be very hard to get the dog to stop.. everytime he jumps on you say 'no' firmly and grab his paw (he'll naturally go down) when he does tell him to sit and then praise him. he'll learn quickly
