I love this video, getting the combination of a stunning view and a great 5 watt DX contact in Eastern Europe... is there anything better? Thanks for putting this up, it gives me something to shoot for. 73 - W2DAB
One of these days I'll be listening for you guys and hopefully I'll be upgraded to General at the time, so I can make a contact with you. I've made a few contacts on 10 meters with my FT-817, one of which was around 750 miles, so I know I'll be able to do it with a bit of patience.
Two thumbs up Steve. Looking forward to QRPTTF next weekend. Hope weather cooperates. Maybe I will work you again this year if you are out. 72, Perry N5PJ
Great job and looks like an awesome day! Sure brings back memories of our trip last year. We hope to make it back to see ya's again sometime! 73 - Phil KL8DX & Suann KL8SU
It is indeed great to see a new video from you! I too am wondering what the battery pack is that Bob was using. I have yet to earn my 1000 miles/watt, but this video inspires me to keep trying!
@KF7IJZ ...Bob was using an external sealed lead acid battery. I think it was maybe 3AH as it didn't last as long as we'd hoped for maybe 2hrs?. Bob handed me the mic to give another DX station a call (GI4DZE) and once I clicked the mic button the FT817 shut down. I had another battery with me but weather was also saying it was to end the FUN!! (sigh)
I am a true believer in the saying "you can only keep what you got by giving it away". So great to see you all enjoying the elements and working DX. Thanks for the video Steve, we all are glad to see you Goats. 73
Great video, love them all! I was wondering if you know what battery pack Bob (AD7BP) is using in the video? Also great video, I was hoping you were still doing videos. I look forword to each new video you post!
It is wonderful to see a new video from you and the goats Steve. Looks like a good time was had by all. Here's hoping there's a balance between Youtube and life to be found.
Great day indeed to see a GOATHIKER video posted. Love these QRP QSLs and it is good to see Peanut & Rooster out on the trail. I am a huge fan and look forward to more adventures as spring and summer make for better weather.
Well done guys (and goats!) on such great contacts with the FT-817. I really like operating portable too and have many videos on my Youtube account on the subject. Well done & I look forward to more videos from you. 73, Craig VK3VCM, Melbourne, Australia

Hi Steve,
I was just thinking about The Boys the other day and wondering how they were. Glad to see you're all well and still working the peaks.
