It's best for GT5. Especially online, after you get used to the G25 force and stuff, you'll notice a big improvement in your winnings and driving. Especially on corners!

Yes. PC, PS2 and PS3. Apparently you can get a special connector to run it on 360. I'm not too sure though.

When you dont use the clutch on a real car and (upshifting only it's called powershifting. meaning you are shifting at the optimal time and is recommended if you know how to and when.

@DJWickedSWAG I imagine this will work almost the same way as an automobile . Although , learning on something with an average speed of eight miles - per - hour might not be the safest for when you learn to control an actual automobile , simply due to the fact that you might believe it is safe to go that fast in a real automobile and not have an accident solely due to the fact that that is how you went about whilst learning in a fictional video game .

i knew that the shifta would still work without the cluch because in normal real cars if u dont hit the cluch the shifta is locked but since theis is a game it would not lock the shifta if u dont hit the cluch because the makers of the steering wheel cant be stuffed to add an extra thing like that

I totally agree. This game is quality. I am so looking forward to GT5, and I'm not saying the following won't be included, but 'Need For Speed Shift' kills it in these areas:

1. Ability to turn the HUD off.

2. Ability to look around the interior of the car, including down and up, and out the windows as if your head is turning.

3. Every car has an interior view.

4. The sense of speed.

5. Options in creating custom races.

6. Customizable paint jobs. Awesome.

I have no idea why GT5 doesn't.

@Joel0277 It's a Playseat EVO you can buy it on Amazon. The bracket that holds the shifter is sold seperately, but the rest comes in one box...seat, rails, stand.

Yes the wheel is chain driven so it does make noise, but it's not loud.

It's in the driving options. You have to turn automatic clutch off. The game still lets you go into gear without it though, you get a slight grind and the rpms will bounce for a fraction of a sec when you don't use it. It's hardly noticeable.

900 degrees. Most games let you adjust it...usually the default is not that wide.

Yeah the wheel handles well with Shift. The force feedback is good and the cars are very cocntrollable to all inputs. The pedals are hard mounted to the Playseat EVO rig. The base comes pre-drilled with holes and bolts...everything fits right up.

how did u get your pedal to stay in place like that. I have the GT5 racing chair but their is nothing on the base of the petals to keep in place. Also does the steering wheel for NFSS handle the same as it does for GT5P. Cause the steering wheel is great for GT5. I just want to make sure it is the same for shift or better. Please respond.

@boygenius7 the base of the Playseat EVO for the pedals is predrilled. So basically you just put the pedals on the base, and screw in the bolts that come witht he G25.

I got NFS: Shift and Grid at the same time, lets just say i've only played Shift a handful of times. Grid is killing it. The reason the wheel isn't turning as much on screen as he is is because he's got the driver assistance damn near on auto-piolet!!! Turn all that shit off and you would be whipping that wheel all around and moving around alot more. Whats the point of the wheel set-up if you don't want it to handle like a car?

Actually I have GT5 Prologue and the same thing happens. I can shift gears without pressing in the clutch. I didn't play around with the settings though in GT5P

Yea that's what I thought. I want it as realistically as possible but I guess that won't happen. I just turned up the clutch sensitivity to 100% and clutch dead zone at 50% and it seems a bit better but still not what I'm looking for.

It still lets you shift without clutch even with it turned on. The only time it stalls you is from a stop if you don't use it.

Clutch works with Shift, GT5P, NFS Pro Street.

Tell him to play with the driving options and turn on whatever assists he needs to get it right. The wheel does jerk you around a bit to simulate oversteer or understeer. So he has to keep a steady hand, and drive a smooth line. Try not to bump other cars, go into the grass, or do any fast jerking motions on the wheel or you will spin out.
