  • Please do not buy this notebook. This has a serious problem of nvidia graphic card.

  • I prefere the old one with the Illuminated Keybord it was classed as a Gamers Laptop cos it had 4 Gig of Ram plus the Nvidea Graphics Package which upped the price, this new one is too flimsey bring back its previous version, it had a 17" Screen too...

  • erm its not the lightest laptop or the thinest, the macbook air is

  • @laurencefrazer -.- hes talking about in dell and the XPS series DURR!!

  • @laurencefrazer this video was uploaded in 2007 before the macbook air came out.

  • This is not a light notebook.

They obviously they did not spend a lot of time making this. It's cheap and overheats.

It doesn't have mobile broadband and it freezes like crazy! and my hard drive keeps crashing. DO NOT GET THIS LAPTOP

  • faulty video card and motherboard, laptop sux!!!

  • @comesolito and battery and processor and mic/headphone in/output and plastic design etc....

  • sadly DELL is make in asia,,,

    not america make it,,,

    why

  • it's cheaper labor and they don't get paid by the dollar

  • too bad,,,

america design the computer then america can make it,,,

no need it oversea from asia

  • I'm using that notebook just right now to write this message and it's by far the best one I had ever had.. a little pricey but it's all right

  • this notebook is crap don't buy it i have one and it worked good for about half a year and after that you have to get the motherboard replaced every few months. i found out after i bought it

  • I agree. Had the same problem. Had to replace the motherboard and now the laptop is getting overheated. This laptop deserves to be RECALLED!!

  • it overheats like crazy

  • what do you do when it overheats?

  • nothing

  • Mines is have vertical line on running down the screen. It should be recalled!

  • i am purchasing this week, it seems very nice and will be a nice upgrade for my Inspiron E1405. Which was nice for a while but once I got into WoW i realized it was built to meet WoW expectations and plus I am going to start college and many of my classes will be hybrid so I am going to need a good performing laptop

  • My friend got this and its crap.

  • it could be your hard drive.. if that is the case a clicking hard drive is a bad sign, it could fail anytime and you might lose some or all your files.. if I were you I'd make a backup as soon as possible

  • hey guys, there is a very annoying clicking noise in my DELL XPS M1330 Notebook. i dont know how to remove it. pls help, it drives me crazy

  • its might be debris or dust in your fan,or perhaps your HDD is messed upp

  • built in remote control sounds interesting. but i simply don't like the design.

  • sorry i was wrong, dont listen to what i said b4.

  • lol aluminum, why cant americans say aluminium right ?, im not sure if its just another word for it in america but ive been told they just cant say it right.

  • haha no, they actually spell it the way they say it: aluminum (unlike say solder, which they pronounce sodder while retaining the original spelling).

  • yes, i know, thats why i said dont listen to what i said in the comment after.

  • pcs have too many indivuidual computer companies, thats why macs are more simple.

  • thats why pc's are better, there is compition

  • just puttin out my opinion

  • That's a Sexy notebook

  • So when will the SSD option become less expensive than 440 euros?!?! Otherwise I might get myself this one

  • i have a dell inspiron 1525 much cheaper and it's the same thing just cheaper has 250gb of hard drive 3 gb of ram

  • Before the XPS 1330, I owned the XPS M1210, so I am not new to DELL computers. I loved the M1210 but it was stolen around two months ago forcing me to upgrade to the M1330. I thought it would live up to my expectations, but it turns out that the design is not as durable as the one sported by its predecessor. Around this time I also became rather fed up with Vista - this, of course, means nothing to the more wizened XP users. So now I'm running leopard and it's really been a joy.

  • Hello again, just a little curious but the XPS M1730 is seriously one hell of a laptop. The performance and everything is just outstanding but the size of it is just... big. o.O. I could have spend my money I've been saving up on that laptop but really though, it's inconvenient. Anyway, I've been thinking about getting Mac for my sis these days.... Oh well, Adios' from China. ;)

  • Avoid at all costs. I purchased one a week and it did not live up to the presentational glossiness presented above. For the most part it is extremely brittle, very non-durable, and oddly hollow in places (press the left side of the palmrest between your finger and thumb and you'll know what I mean). Moreover, it comes in at a very high price. For the money you are shelling out it is not worth it. I left mine back and am now about to buy the new Macbook! Peace out!

  • if you dont appreciate it, you could have hand it to me. Two XPS comes in handy you know... and what's with you comparing it to macbook? i know u r talking about macbook pro here.

  • I left my XPS back for the new macbook. Before that, I had always been a PC user. The XPS was a real let down and DELL customer services treated me disgracefully. I had to e-mail top level executives - and quote two key legal precedents - before they would grant me a refund. That's why I'm advising people to be very cautious when approaching this product. Plus other problems such as the graphics card which burns out after 6 months are now well established. Peace out.

  • ahh kay, that explains. I was an Acer user once but trust me, the one I used was really really a let down cause it just entirely shuts off by itself whenever it's overheated and as a result i keep losing my homework... So yeah I just bought an XPS just recently and i was quite satisfied with it's performance. Anyway, I cant believe my school's providing macbooks to students at the beginning of grade 6 (or 7?)...

  • Macbook's are over rated POS's. You can get the same specs with a PC, usually at a cheaper cost and after that you can install a decent version of Linux (ie. Mandriva beta). After all, Mac OS X is based on the Unix platform. Therefore there is hardly a difference except, the company that is backing Mac is Apple, and backing Red Hat (ie) is HP.

  • cant speak

  • the white is sexy..

  • its not called "LED Technology" its just an LED backlight

  • "did i mention its thin and light?!!?!?!"

  • shame the studio gives better spec at cheaper price

  • studio or xps???

  • how much it cost

  • How much thinner with the LED?

  • just say g4 mac ass

  • Awesome laptop :D

  • lol I think this guy mentioned it was "thin" around 30 times

  • Why is the top of the white XPS have a glossy finish? I can only find XPS tops with a more matte/smooth/not glossy finish.

  • I think they discontinued the white finish- it took too long. I ordered mine last summer with a white finish and they have a delay on that finish of 2-3 weeks.

  • ah ic, thats a bummer, thanks

  • actually the still have the white finish... look at their website..

  • i have this laptop in black and it's very sleek i love this i bought it last december 2007 a gift for my self i bought it in k.s.a. all features said are true and vey useful!!!!

  • I really like this notebook, but I wish there was a way to make the screen as bright on battery as it was plugged in. Anybody know?

  • what colors do they come in?

  • red, white, black, blue, and pink.

  • hi...im planning to buy a dell xps model but im a little bit confused as to which one to buy XPS M1330 or M1530....can anyone plz suggest?

  • the 1330 is a 13 incher and is less powerful than the m1530 which is 15 inches.

  • Is it just me, or does he repeat himself a lot from 1:40 - 2:05?

  • huh he has a white version?? how ? i want white to!

  • howmuch?

  • I think the one your'e looking for Is the XPS m1710...ithink........I know its m17 something...it comes at a price...like 2000$+ dollars

  • bro he just said it is xps m1330

and i used to have it

    it's 1300 to 1000$

  • what's that xps that lights up on the top?!?! i'm not sure if it actually lights up but it looks like it. plz comment back!!

  • Solo el amor imbeciles ventatas, tener la valentia de abrir su pequena mente y ver el mundo real y dejar de atacer a las personas. Mi trabajo aqui se hace usted es un asnohead i lastima.Usted no vale mi tiempo y esfuerzo.

No se puede detener el gigante de Apple. : )

  • And, your level of immaturity exceeds all boundaries of bad taste aircadet, resorting to personal attacks clearly shows this.

Your parents must be very proud of you.

    Goodbye.

  • ME? your the one that started with the whole"bad taste"hello read down the god damn page...pedophile.bring back any memories jackass???...you can try to make yourself look better by accusing me of "personal attacks" Just because you lack the common sense to know who started this little 'flaming war' if you could even call it that. YOURE the one who called ME a homo for likinga computer system...If THAT isnt a personal attack Im not sure what is,Im sure your parents forgot to love you,GOODBYE

  • Get a life aircadet4.

  • He's a Dull pedophile, he likes little boys.

  • please, stop talking to yourself over youtube...no one wants to hear it faggot

  • Obviously you are an expert in homosexuality, that's why you use Windoze - right ?

    Bye.

  • oh, definately...the operating system I use defines whether I like dudes or girls....wow that makes A whole lot of fucking sense! stupid fucking computer geeks...obviously the one who needs to get a life is the dude that names himslef "heraofolympus" on youtube and then tells OTHERS to get a life...

  • and honestly, I would think that someone name "STAR!!! dude would be the queer especially since he judges someone on their OS

  • oh man if os x could run on one of these=heaven. i already have an macbook pro so this will be a good ultraportable.

  • Actually the m1330 is one of the few laptops that CAN RUN OSX. Read up on "osx86" project for more info.

  • osx86 is highly unstable and is very slow. its a pain to setup too.

  • Use a Mac if you want to run and enjoy OS X .

  • ya thats what i decided. im going for the 24" imac 3.06 ghz.

  • In 5 months time it's going to be a very expensive paper-wieght ( viruses,driver issues,hardware failures.... )

    But i digress.....

Dull is 9 years behind everyone now in the "laptop" game.

    Enjoy the ride ppl.

  • This is great notebook. I have the black one. I have owned two others and I would have to a say this one is my favorite. Also, the most attractive laptop of them all.

  • they do, but somehow the colors seeem to relate to different basic features and different component options. A pity that is. Not bad this video but if the guy was from DELL headquarters he should work on his presentation skills, I think. Mentioning how many times "and it is also very thin" and opening and closing it constantly rather than showing its different viewpoints and parts.

  • do they still produce white models?

  • yes i saw one in the store a couple months ago and unless they changed it since then...

  • is the momrey larg ?

  • I'm Planning 2 get dat soon! I dont know wat it looks better in black or blue?

  • black is a fingerprint magnet. I have red, it's not bad. blue seems pretty cool.

  • I got one it rocks it even has a webcam there is nothing bad about this machine at all i recomend anyone who wants to buy a new laptop that is a pc to buy this one

  • how much does it cost?

  • um if your from Canada like me ..... i got my for 2666 about

  • doesn't this laptop look a bit slant when put the battery? I have seen some pics and I'm a bit afraid...Tx!

  • HOLY SHIT IT IS THIN!

  • Its great with Ubuntu 7.10 and a XP and Vista guest via virtualbox.

  • It seems like it would be thin enough to stuff into an interoffice envelope.

  • Try it then knoxjt , it would rip open the interoffice envelope.

    :P

  • stupid mac lovers...I think you love your computer a little toooo much...look at me my effing laptop fits in a god damn envelope!!!

that must make me cool!!! mac lovers unite!!! who cares about the actual internal parts...I can hide it from people in my sneaky envelope haha...its just a computer....

  • @ captjohn, get the XPS M1530, it is more powerful, and still, it is not as thin as the M1330 LCD, but the 1530 LCD is thinner than the Inspiron lineup. Fingerprint Reader comes standard on the 1530 where as the 1330 you would have to request it and pay alittle extra

  • Which is the newer XPS the M1530 or the M1330? Also is there an even newer one coming out soon because I don't want to waste my money on an old machine.

  • The XPS M1530 is slightly newer but is very similiar to the M1330, and just an FYI in the computer world there is always a newer one coming out in a few months or so.

  • Hi- I've looked on the dell web site and I was wondering if you have to connect this to the home hub for the wireless to work. Thanks

  • I am debating getting a 1530 and a 1330, which one should i buy?

  • I have 1330, small, compact, love it. I travel a week at a time, so I went for the smaller 13.3 size, and I have no problems. I really don't care much for vista though.

  • super expensive

  • how many times did he say it's very thin lol

  • the question i have is ...is it thin? god i dont know..cant you just tell me.? oh so i can slideshow my porn?

  • Cool thank you.

  • You suck.

  • How much does that cost?

  • depends on the options....

  • It starts at $1399 as of February 2008

  • Cool never gonna buy it but cool

  • Actually starts at $999 ;)

  • Nice

  • You can buy this as one of Dell's 'nSeries' without a Microsoft OS and save about $100. I have a legit copy of XP which I'll put on, but first I want to see how Ubuntu looks on a 2.2GHz-4G ram box... I like Vista (some don't) and eventually will put the 64 bit version on this, but I can wait until the service pack issues are resolved. I am really happy that a company like Dell is willing to sell machines without Microsoft installed and pass the saving along. Yay Ubuntu, Yay Dell!

  • This nSeries of this computer starts at $949.

  • Yeah.....there is only one bad thing there...and thats vista....10/10 for ubuntu and -10/10 for vista!!

  • Compared to what? It used to be hard for the average user to install and make work easily, but these days, I could give a disc to my grandma and she could install it and and check her stocks and email and do all the things she'd be able to do with MacOS or MS Windows.

My grandma is one step above a 'Rhet-Tard'... Where are you?

  • agreed... i tried ubuntu and slackware last summer after being pestered by linux evangelists for a long time and now i'm back with XP and much happier

  • can anyone tell me about the "expandability" of this laptop? does it have space to put in more memory without having to swap the old one out? and coes it have ports so i can later upgrade to wireless n if i buy one with wireless g on it?

  • Pay attention to negative comments on products before investing your hard earned money into a corporation that focuses only on metrics and colors.

  • yeah and a company that replace my battery (after 6 months i decided to get a new one and they send me one...how about that), mainboard and monitor (which I actually broke)

    nice huh?

    try that with apple

  • Hi, can someone please tell me if MapleStory can run on this laptop?

  • LOL

  • Rofl, Yes you can play MapleStory On It Nightfirezrock.. ^.^ Its been specificaly designed for "compact/portable gaming, though.......much more powerful then then MapleStory needs..

  • I have a question.

Does the dvd player play Pal and Ntsc? I live in sydney but I'm movin to the U.S. I want to know if I wont be able to do some things on the Australian laptop if I'm in the U.s? What other things would restrict me from doing on the laptop.

  • the macbook air is the lightest now its weights 3 pounds and its the thinnest

  • Ya, but lacks power, storage and a cd drive.

  • he said it there thinest not in the world

  • is the white even available in the market?

  • testing

  • i want one!

  • I like both your laptop comps, very nice!

  • wtf his is white.. that wasnt an option for me =(

  • well they ran out of the tone for a bit but now you can get it in white and even blue

  • hmmm i'm thinking of this or a mac book pro. But with this laptop i can play games but witht he mac i could play games but i'm sure it would be slow. But then again Mac is ummmmm, hmmmmmmm.

  • I cant believe how such a powerful computer can be so powerful and soooo thin. Its almost surreal

  • you are getting way to excited

  • way to excited

  • @ jp7545. powerfull? are you kidding me.. this laptop is mid range. It only has intel core 2 duo and nvidia 8400GS(shit card).

  • Yeah, I just ordered mine and its coming like a week form now and btw, use stackable coupons the computer reg price is 1399$ so if you decide to use them it ends up for like 800$ mine was like 780 something oh, and ask for a student credit. just a heads up if your going to buy this computer its really great i heard hope you enjoy..

  • oooooooooooo it is sexy

  • XPS costs more than the $300 model you probably bought.

By the way, you probably didn't read the manual and plugged it into an outlet that doesn't match the voltage the system is designed for.

  • Dell PSU's are global compatible.

  • Unless you're using a power source that causes your computer to catch fire. Like the guy that I responded to.

  • i have the m1330 and i would recommend it but expect some charging and power problems the chargers tend to break on my third one and it still dosnt work half the time but other that than that its really good

  • haha, i almost thought he was going to juggle with it.

  • omg, he doesnt stop taking about how fucking thin it is...like shut the fuck up already

  • Well, it is kind of it's biggest selling point.

  • is the led screen thinner and also does it have a microphone in it beause i heard the standard one has better camera and mic is that true

  • is it a 6 cell battery?

  • yeah but can get 9 cell

  • I want it sooooooo bad

  • very thin and sleek infomation

  • just got my m1730, first impressions were... "ITS BIG" but its an absolute beast inside

  • Does it have a CPU whining issues?

  • I want a small notebook with graphic power and this seems like one of the better options. I wish it were a 12.1 screen and had a more powerful graphics card with more than 128 ram.

  • i was going to buy one but then i noticed they didn't have the white anymore

why'd they stop selling them in white? just curious..
