I acquired an ME80 a while ago, and the noise improves dramatically as soon as you send it through a decent preamp- which is to say that plugging it directly into any kind of camcorder is rather iffy. Run it through a Juicedlink box or a Mixpre, for example, and it should be fine.
Another thing: You should correct the name of the mic so that this video shows up when you search for it! Might give you some more views. Both the title and the tag should be "Sennheiser", not "Sennhesier".
I was thinking of getting an ME80. The quality of the voice recording is great, other than that terrible hissing sound. It's a real shame. Are you sure it wasn't the sound of a nearby river?
