  • My ex-girlfriend said Jimmy Smith sounded like a baseball game. Forget the critics and do your thing, Roger!

  • @Modes9 I guess that could be one reason why she's your "ex". ;-)

  • Great freaking tune! It's funny to see your leg moving frenetically =D

  • Just sitting here, innocently listening, minding my own business, enjoying the fine, swinging, creative playing ... then I hit 2:58. Now whose video is this? Boundaries ... gotta set boundaries :)

It's been too long since I checked in. Sounds great! Impressive library you're building. Hope you're doing well.

  • @joeholtsnotes Ha, ha - thanks Joe! Hope all is well with you too!

  • I believe there is a nice quote reference to Opus Caprice at 2:41? All in all, a totally wonderful treatment!! Thanks again for this and for Matt.

  • @tomtowle Ha, ha thanks Tom - except I want Matt back!! ;-)

  • @Lot2learn Probably could happen but you might have to hire him as highly-paid contract photographer!!

  • Great job!

  • great playing as usual...just saw/heard joey defrancesco at the newport jazz festival last saturday....great show...

  • un brano esiguito con grande maestria

  • great job but drums are a bit too loud ( hard to hear)

  • @gospelkeys07 right on Clifton. ;-)

  • This isn't too fast. This is comfortable. Haha.

  • I always wanted to learn those sick jazzy solos, now I know I will, thanks!!!

  • Man, that's kickin' it, Roger!

    Fri

  • On my second viewing, I noticed the fancy footwork down below.

  • @cwicker454 LOL

  • This is absolutely amazing.

  • Perhaps you can demonstrate WALKING BASS of the Ensoniq

    on a Slow Blues

I think it will do that a la Chuck Israels , . .hihi

That would not be possible :).

But it will do a great job

  • very nice dpne - it seems almost as if pedals are used for bass but I think

that this Ensoniq has the same very good accompagmenty ( never to day to find anywhere ) as my "same period?" KN2000 - even the later Technics were worse

I have them as you know

    Thumbs_Up Roger

  • Roger, man, you are kicking some a**. This is really great and in the tradition of good hard swinging jazz. I love it.

p.s. I'm having a run of good health so it was good to hear some good jazz.

  • Wow! So awesome.

  • Yah man!

  • I loved this. Thanks.

While I was watching it, I kept expecting the nervous and envious left hand to reach over and choke the right hand and tell him to stop showing off.

  • Tony Monaco is incredible. He lives by me.

  • are there any practice exercises/tools you could let me in on for hearing & executing more interesting lines and melodies? obviously you must have some rippin practice routines, anything you're willing to share?

  • Great stuff man!
