The youth had a right to protest. They had a right to be where they were at. They did NOT have a right to hassle or lay a hand on a police officer. One of them decided to do that. The police officer arrested him. He didn't beat him, he arrested him and led him away. Don't touch a cop, f*ckhead! Obey every word an officer says. If it's unconstitutional.. Sue them afterwards! Don't provoke the police because you will lose, and your protest will mean DICK.
uhm actually the police cant just show up and say leave, they have no legal authority to do so. The park is a public space and the police are charged with keeping the peace in that space. They had every right to ask that the protesters keep the noise level down(noise polution) but they had no right to ask them to disperse. I fought for their right to protest(7years in the Corps) and what the police did was out of line. It only makes me wish I had a law degree right now....
yeah, that's my view on the who thing eaglefan...But the protesters went out of their way to start something. The police didn't just show up and start arresting people. They told them to disperse and one of the protesters antagonized one of the officers. Plus they interrupted the concert, they ruined it for others. I'm not supporting police brutality, but just think about it.
The problem with people saying this is police brutality is as follows: When the police tell you to leave the area. You do it. If not, You are tresspassing and that is what happen hear, So stop with the police brutality bullcrap.
This video just goes to show how uneducated people fall into lemming status and applaud the police when they don't even have a clue what is going on. That kind of ignorance and stupidity by the people in this town should be protested. Not that they'd get it.
Just a bunch of sissy girls dressed in black. Your signs read "fight back" but when it came down to it, you rolled over like a bunch of whimps and gave up.
Been reading eyewitness accounts & the police reports. Wish I saw the actual events or good video footage.
There will be another protest against police brutality in Spokane on the sidewalk between Mallon and Broadway on the west side of Monroe [1 block from the police department], Monday July 9th, at 4:30. Be there with cameras rolling!!!
Learn the story and you will revise your opinion. Rights are balanced between groups of people and the police are called upon to balance those rights. The protester's rights do not supplant my rights to enjoy the concert that they interupted. The concert was sponsered, paid for and the venue rented, by the way.
@BurninVengeanceBand "There" is a preposition. "Their" is the plural possessive. Also, "They're" is a contracton for "They are".

Those cops have to be the most tolerant people I've ever seen, can you imagine the stress of that many useless hippies yelling at you?
I probably would have snapped.

They actually did beat a few people for no reason, but did not arrest them. I saw it with my own eyes.
