Kate was interviewed this morning on radio by Anthony Callea and Tim Campbell. She said that she came back and viewed this performance a while after doing this concert and it actually brought tears to her eyes. She loved performing with Anthony at these concerts. And we loved hearing you both!
I also love anthony singing solo, but duets like this are just great to listen to as well. I love the blend of the voices and these two voices work so well together.
No one's vocals are better than Anthony Callea's. His version of Go The Distance that he sang that afternoon, and also sang at Whitney Houston's concerts is an absolute masterpiece.

Anthony does a flawless performance here-Kate on the other hand, no offence to people who like her, she slightly ruined it for me... is it just me, or were other people watching this just waiting for her to hit the high note but she never did? I was just waiting for the climax and it never came.Anthony Callea still dominates this performance and remains one of my favourite singers of all time :)
I think kate has a lovely penetrating voice and they blended very well as a duet. But certainly Anthony carried the last part of the song when they had to sing the high notes with full power

i expected more of his voice. i was kinda disapointed. It's beautifal, but he's fokkn up the song, he should sing it like ewan, same timing, not make his own show of it. Ewan mcGregor is better (:
I don't see why he should sing it the same as Ewan, he sung the song as Anthony, like Kate did, she definately doesn't sound like Nicole in this performance, just two dynamic voices and the SSOrchestra, it was beautiful.
Ewan McGregor did a good job considering, but his voice doesn't have the resonance of Anthony's so he'd have to do it differently. There's no need for a song to be performed the same way by different artists, especially when one's trained and one isn't. It's just a matter of taste, as well as what you're used to.
I love Kate but she doesn't usually sing this style so I think it's a matter of her needing to match Anthony. His other duet was with Trish Crowe, who's classically trained.
I'm not trying to take anything away from Anthony...he has done amazingly well...but when he has the stage hours and he is the one inviting the likes of Kate onto the stage to join him...then we can continue this discussion...
Anthony & Kate were both actually invited by the 'Sydney Symphony Orchestra' to join them at the Opera House. They are great and have real chemistry performing together amd voices blend well. Check out his performance of Nella Fantasia and Go The Distance from the same Opera House concert, they also did a fun one with the four of them Love Is In The Air.
The soaring power ballads are more Anthony's genre than Kate's and she didn't invite him, the promoters invited them both. They have immense respect for one another and their voices blend really well in this but he actually carries a large part of the song especially the power high parts. I hope they're asked to do more together.
Now there's an admission, gmarkcarr! Anthony performed as well as Kate Ceberano! Goodness me! Personally, I think its very obvious that he matched Kate to perfection in this song and they have a great rapport and respect for one another's abilities. They sound great together.
Incidentally, if you listen to that last couple of verses where they are singing the higher parts with great power, you might notice that Anthony is actually carrying the song at that level. Just my observation.
Your videos are so good. It just brings back such great memories of that fantastic afternoon on that Saturday. You must have been sitting one or two rows in front of me and the quality is so much better than mine. And your rent videos are wonderful too. More, more, more please. I know I am being greedy!! But you have done such a great job of capturing such great highlights for all of us.

I think it's a perfect blend of voices. Both very strong, but complimenting each other beautifully. And I loved their rapport throughout the song.
